Really good solid win. Thought Macc were competing well early doors and if their effort from a corner that hit the post went in might have been a different story. But we knocked it around and wore them down which meant loads of cards for.Macc as they were reduced to tugs and barges at time. Woolery had a great game and.his run and cross for Noble's goal was very satisfying.

We are starting to hit some good form. Looked brilliant today against a poor Macclesfield side. Can't see them troubling the playoffs.

Gap is starting to close for Lincoln. Tranmere putting pressure on with a huge win last night, and with us winning today, it's all to play for!

With Lincoln playing Arsenal on Saturday, I can see them resting a few on Tuesday aswell

28 points from our last 15 games. If only we'd started the season as well. If we had surprisingly we'd be in second place right now.

Absolutely not, sorry to disappoint. The title is the only objective that matters.

I've never seen a team start time wasting after only 10-15 minutes till today......truly bizarre from Southport.

Weird to say when you draw 0-0 at home but that goes down as a point gained in my book.

Good day for Truro fans - they might get a relatively local away game next season, if they stay up

very satisfying win at Braintree. Although it was as a poor game on that horrible bobbly pitch.

Difficult to see but looked from the away end like Braintree had a perfectly legitimate goal ruled out (offside?) very soon after we went 2-1 up.

We are looking like strong contenders to wrap up 10th now.

That IS impressive. Interesting to see FGR being distinctly mid table, and yet they're still in contention for the title.
If we had accumulated points like that from the start of the season we'd be on 67 now in second place!

That big old wobble and personnel changes Christmas New Year time, hopefully settling now. Last five only blotted by Gateshead away. Big ask but not out of things. As Cooper said, any team finishes above you wins it.

Our poor form continues, not seen us play well since Tranmere. We need players back fit and fast. Don't doubt we'll make play offs but you need form going into it.

Brilliant turnout from us 175 when we're barely scraping 1000 at home these days.

We'll rest a few but not many Tuesday, a few more will be rested during the two trophy games.
Ginnelly, Knott and or Muldoon could start Tuesday.
Adam Marriott seems to have fallen totally out of favour unless he's injured again.
Two new players next week apparently.

Just back from Dover, another good point, our defence did well to restrict the threat of Ricky Miller who wasn't at his best. I do love the Crabble though - my fave ground on my national league tour so far. We're getting closer and closer to confirmation of survival :2thumb::2thumb::2thumb:

I do not know what has happened to us but we are a completely different team, we have went back to 5 at the back and it seems like we have just clicked and we are playing very well as a unit and are now playing some good football, thank you to Halifax for selling us Burrow who has been a revelation since he has joined!

Thought we had a lucky escape last night, crazy not to start Cook but I think both him and Norwood have proved a point and should be in the starting 11 until the end of the season.

I am not sure about that. With the crazy schedule we have got there is bound to be some squad rotation and we would be buggered if Cook got injured. From Mellon's perspective, Cook and Norwood only played half an hour on Friday but we won the game and they are nice and fresh for Tuesday night.

I still expect the Europa League pairing of Mangan and Stockton to start against Macclesfield / Dulwich.

Firstly, RIP to the Chester fan that died last night and condolences to the family. Terrible news to hear.

With regards to last nights ref, although he did seem slightly bias towards Chester, arguably we could/should have gone down to 10 men 5 minutes into the game as the Chester player was through on goal when he was brought down for the penalty. Jay Harris could have walked later in the game also.

Thought we had a lucky escape last night, crazy not to start Cook but I think both him and Norwood have proved a point and should be in the starting 11 until the end of the season. Cracking game though, the football on show was scrappy at times but you can't complain seeing 5 goals, coming from behind to snatch a last minute winner. Makes a change from the normal 1-0 bore fest we normally get when we're on telly.

Thought it was a brave decision by Mellon to start with Stockton after his good form including his hat-trick the previous game, but it didn't come off. I'd agree that Cook should start most games from now, save the Trophy fixtures.

Norwood is a different matter. Rarely finishes one on ones, so his conversion rate isn't that good. While he's earned a start after the performance at Chester, it would be a mistake to view him as an automatic pick. With Connor Jennings returning after his loan spell, it would be interesting to see him deployed in a forward role, which I think he's played at Macc. More likely to be used in a deeper tip of the diamond position by our manager though.

Easy win. Macc couldn't get near us. Look like nailed on midtable fodder. Danny Whitaker, apparently "the best midfielder in the league" with Liam Noble "not fit to lace his boots" did nothing, and got hooked. Nobes on the other hand, didn't even have to be at his best as he bossed it and got a goal.

Nice to have the luxury of resting a few key players for the last 20-25 mins.

Doidgy is looking the real deal, that's 18 goals now and he's getting better every week. Reckon he'll be well up for the big one at Daggers next week.

We're starting to settle down and find some form again, that's 4 wins in 5 in the league. If we keep this sort of form up we should at least finish in the top 3, which means home advantage play offs second leg, which could be crucial.

Watched a replay of the Chester v Tranmere game this morning....good game fro the neutral. None of this 'possession is God' shit. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Does anyone know if the person choosing the Non League Paper team of the week is a Guiseley fan? Might just be me but seems their manager is picked as manager of the week every time they win. Take nothing away from their win against Torquay but there were more impressive results this weekend.

To be fair I think he deserves it, doing a great job there. If they had this form from the off they surely be outside the play offs

By all accounts we were awful yesterday but doggedly fought and scrapped to take the win with ten men for a long period. We are definitely not playing free flowing football but the fighting spirit amongst the squad is fantastic and that's why we're picking up the points.
All that stems from the management, fair play to them.

Is Mark Yates scouting for anyone down here? Was at our game yesterday and I'm hoping it's because he's in line to replace Nicho rather than on a scouting mission
