Just about to ask You that. Is it not looking likely then?

Watched the Sutton v Bromley game yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it especially as I had a tidy bet on over 2.5 goals (which really should have been up just after halftime). Poor referee....Sutton keeper should have been off imo for the penalty incident and how the fuck he gave offside against Bromley for the disallowed goal when he was so far behind play whilst the linesman, who was in line, kept his flag down and as for the sending off......

Well I've not seen the pitch, though I presume they've worked on it all day yesterday. It's just stopped raining though, and the club seem to be optimistic. However, that's always the case.

Looks like Torquay still have a chance of surviving, still to play Pool, Halifax and Guiseley. If they win all 3 that's 46 points, which would be enough if both us and Woking lose from now on.

I was quite glad that Tranmere's game was postponed, not because of the problems Good Friday, but because I had them and Coventry in my accumulator :bg:

I know the rules have apparently changed but how is the keeper taking out a striker who's clean through on goal not a red card?

Literally no disadvantage to the keeper wiping out a striker. With the current rules the choice is between a guaranteed goal or yellow card and penalty. At least if it was a guaranteed red card it would stop it happening as much.

It’s if the player is making an attempt to get the ball they avoid the double penalty/red.

The Sutton keeper made no attempt for the ball and should have seen red, didn’t see Doswell bemoaning that or Bromley’s ghost goal..

Yeah they said that in commentary Bertie. They agreed a booking was the correct decision as the Bromley player was going away from goal. The keeper could absolutely pole axe You knowing he’ll only get a yellow. Seems silly to me

Sutton where all over the shop yesterday. Hopefully they defend like that this Saturday

Collins looked as if he knew something was coming his way to be honest. Dirty shit. Ban him for the season.

He wasn't really going away from goal, just rounding the keeper. He would have 100% scored if he wasn't taken out.

He'd be happy with that. As would Doswell.

Looking at the replays JB does try to get the ball, but he's comfortably outplayed. I felt sorry for him our corner and defending were atrocious.

As for Collins' red card apparently it was on the say of the 4th official who was being hounded by the Bromley bench over it. We are going to appeal

A good 3 points and we’re back in the playoffs. Roll on Saturday against a very good side in sutton

Really pissed off again tonight. Didn't think a lot of Fylde and we had the better chances but couldn't put them away. Three counter attacks did for us. Well that and an awful set of officials - will need to see a replay, but it feels like we were robbed of a penalty and a red card.

Have to say, Fylde are the dirtiest team I've seen all season, and one of the keenest to go to ground too.

Two terrible keepers on show as well, and also two of our players had to be separated at the end.

Oh, we're going down.

You’ve already won the league. Saturdays game against Sutton has no bearing on that. Massively important again for us though. 5 games left

I’ve just watched the 18 minute highlight reel on Wrexham’s YouTube of their game v Boring Wood and for what it’s worth the ref had a shocker.

I know everyone’s biased to their teams but some of the decisions it’s like he’s trying to hard to prove he’s not a homer. Shocking calls.

So in summary of the 6 pages of this thread - every loss on Monday/Tuesday was because of the ref. Except Sutton, and Bromley are saying the ref was shit.

That's exactly what he was doing, he started the game with the intention that he wasn't going to be intimidated and therefore gave us less and less as the game went on, the more we complained the more he gave to Borehamwood. Can't see him being put forward to ref us again, same way we've not had that joker Sam Allison since the Maidstone debacle.

Can't argue with the Wedgbury booking for dissent but the state of the linesman, how can't he see that ball has been played onto their player is beyond me. Plus the ref was in a good position and hasn't overruled him either.

Let's not forget we were and are pisspoor though and Borehamwood looked a much better team anyway.

My thoughts too. Little or no contact for the penalty set the tone.

Missed our game fortunately as I was in Holland. Went to watch a Dutch second tier game, it was almost like watching a different sport.

I have to say that I knew to a certain extent that the standard of football in the conference was going to be absolute shit, but it’s the standard of officiating that has been the real culture shock. The only game I can remember where I’ve walked out of the ground thinking that the ref had got a significant majority of the decisions right was when Neil Hair reffed us at home to Eastleigh. It’s an actively lamentable stain on the division.

If you want, you can watch our highlights and tell us there's no clear penalty...

This is because most refs in this league are shite and like to be the centre of attention. Therefore they influence results due to their incompetence. As said we were crap but ref decisions certainly cost us.

That 'Tunnel Cam' footage we've now released from Monday certainly makes for some interesting viewing.

Referee Paul Marsden's eyes lighting up and a beaming smile across his face as Ricketts the Borehamwood captain appears from the changing rooms. Smiling and warmly greeting him, he's practically hugging and kissing him before delving straight into a 5 minute chat as though he's down the pub with his best mate asking him how the wife and kids are. He's still chatting his box off to Ricketts as they are walking out the tunnel.

The red card for Wrexham looked an odd decision, unless there was more to it than the footage shows. That said, it looks like Pearson should have had about four yellow cards for dissent so it probably evens itself out in that respect. :bg1:
