ok - I know it's only Tuesday - but here goes with the weekend fixtures....

AFC Fylde (18th) v Yeovil Town (2nd)
Aldershot Town (20th) v Stockport County (8th)
Boreham Wood (9th) v Harrogate Town (6th)
Bromley (3rd) v Eastleigh (13th)
Chorley (24th) v Dover Athletic (15th)
Ebbsfleet United (22nd) v Woking (4th)
FC Halifax Town (7th) v Notts County (12th)
Hartlepool United (14th) v Dagenham & Redbridge (17th)
Maidenhead United (16th) v Barnet (10th)
Sutton United (19th) v Wrexham (21st)
Torquay (11th) v Chesterfield (23rd)
Solihull (5th) v Barrow AFC (1st)

AFC Fylde v Yeovil.
Yeovil need to win to try to put pressure on Barrow at the top whilst Fylde's next 4 games are against teams in 2nd, 1st, 8th and 1st and a bad Christmas really puts them back into the relegation mire. Fylde have only won 1 of their last 5 home games and Yeovil 2 of their last 5 away. Fylde are also without the suspended Jordan Williams. Looks like a draw or narrow Yeovil win.

Aldershot v Stockport
Aldershot are really struggling to score goals and low on confidence - the same can't be said of Stockport - AWAY banker

Chorley v Dover
Will Dover realise the train times have changed? Will they get there on time? Chorley need a win and their home form has been improving, whilst Dover are struggling to score - do they have a striker yet? - narrow 1-0 Home Win.

FC Halifax Town v Notts County
losing Jim O'Brian to injury in his 1st game back is a huge miss for Notts and Notts struggle to score enough goals whilst still conceding sloppy ones. Halifax have not won any of their last 5 home league games. This game can go either of 2 ways - low scoring draw or thumping Halifax win. Prediction(?) 1-1 draw...

Sutton v Wrexham
big game at the bottom of the table. Both teams are improving at present and the deciding factor may be the plastic pitch. Oddly i think this is the one match over Christmas that i think Wrexham will be happy with a draw given that they play Chorley home and away. Harry Beautyman could well decide who wins this match. 2-1 Home win, before Wrexham get 7 points from their 3 other Christmas games.

Solihull v Barrow
On paper the biggest game of the day is the televised 5.20 kick off where 2nd favourites to win the league Solihull come up against favourites Barrow. It's likely that 1 or both of Yeovil or Bromley will be level on points with Barrow when the game kicks off - but Barrow will have 2 games in hand - so a draw or defeat for Barrow won't be a disaster. However if Solihull lose they will be 10 points off the top and quite possibly out of the play off places. Solihull have won their last 5 home games, but Barrow have won 4 of their last 5 away and scored 9 without reply in winning the last 3 at Dagenham, Notts County and Maidenhead. Barrow won 1-0 away at Solihull at the same stage last year with a John Rooney goal. The FA Trophy matches midweek could be a factor - Barrow are only playing fringe players Tuesday night, but Solihull's replay is a day later on Wednesday and they played a strong team in the 1st match. If they play a strong team in the replay and either lose or it goes to extra time then back Barrow on Saturday.

We've won three on the bounce so will be confident going into this one.

We recently changed to a 3-5-2 system and it seems to be working but those three victories have come in home games against Ebbsfleet, Fylde and Weymouth so we need to keep some perspective.

On paper, a draw probably looks most likely but Maidenhead's home form is pretty poor so we have to look at this game as a great opportunity to push on up the table.

it looks like Currie took notice when you played us as we used that formation and it gave you no end of problems - looks like he changed it next match to what we used. We used that formation at Maidenhead 2 matches ago and they were lucky to lose 4-0, so you have a good chance, particularly as they are better away from home than at home.

Why are Barrow suddenly favourites to win the league? They're probably not even the favourites among Barrow fans.

Solihull won't be anywhere near as bad as our last league encounter - our easiest match of the season so far - and more like they were in the cup. I'd take a draw, but I also know that Fylde will beat us at least once over Christmas.

I don't see the midweek FA Trophy games having any bearing either, as both managers will be sensible enough not to go all-out to win those games.

Fylde vs Yeovil is a big game - it will be a big chance to see how far Fylde have progressed since Bentley came in, and could do us a massive favour if they get a result.

Barrow are favourites with just about every bookmaker at present. Solihull are clear 2nd favourites. Fyjde didn't beat us last season - but i expect both those games to be tough. Solihull played a strong team in the 1st game including Osbourne who played the full match and McCallam went off injured in the 1st half. It depends on whether Tim Flower wants to try and get some confidence into a team that hasn't won any of their last 3 games (drawn 1 Lost 2)

This is unspeakably early, I know you've got half a lob on chipmunx cos your top but come on man!

For us it's either freeze me tits off at Pools watching two gutter trash teams lump the ball around or sit at home and pick at the remains of the Quality Street tin with Jeff, hmm.

Agree with the post above, Fylde are likely to be a good test to see where both clubs are at. Since Bentley's come in they've kept 8 clean sheets in 11 games, so you would assume they're playing better than 18th. Despite winning our last 3, it's fair to say Chesterfield and Welling weren't the sternest of tests. First goal will be key.

We’ve got another game tonight before we play at the weekend. I’d rather focus on that first

that's why i mentioned Jordan Williams - he's Fylde's leading scorer with 8 goals and he's suspended, Danny Rowe only has 6 so far,

Yeah, I mean why have the bookies made us favourites? Everyone else surely expects us to falter at some point.

yeah I agree - have you ever known a bookie take a risk though - they always make the teams at the top ridiculously short - IF we were to win on Saturday you could almost guarantee someone will have us as low as Even's - Ladbrokes have us at 6/5 already which is ridiculous at this stage of the season.

No qualms with your preview. I'd still fancy Rowe to be their top scorer in May assuming he's still there.

it looks like Currie took notice when you played us as we used that formation and it gave you no end of problems - looks like he changed it next match to what we used. We used that formation at Maidenhead 2 matches ago and they were lucky to lose 4-0, so you have a good chance, particularly as they are better away from home than at home.

Currie had used this formation before with some success but from all accounts, we were completely outplayed at Barrow and had been on a pretty dire run of form so something had to change.

We've won 1-0 in all three of our previous matches against Maidenhead and I certainly would not mind at all if we continued that run on Saturday.

Gutted I can’t make Hartlepool, cheapest train price in 3 months has been £72 no way paying that. Looks like it will be a very small turnout from us 20/30 with the supporters coach also expected to be cancelled due to lack of numbers.

Really do wonder how the league come up with these fixtures, in March we have Boreham, Aldershot and Woking all away that month.

Halifax, we can't "bank" on anything there. Ardley has to get it sorted in his head that the way he is setting up the side isn't working.
He keeps banging on us having options and competition for places hes got to start mixing it up.

Just here to give a cheery sortyourfuckinglivesout to the six Brothers. Not a single proper club in the top seven? Disgraceful stuff.

Big game for us, and it’ll be interesting to see what Ardley does with the team.

I would drop Doyle, but he won’t, so he has to resist the temptation to bring Mitch Rose straight back in. JOB being injured again complicates it, but just means Regan Booty has to be one of the two starting central midfielders. Sam Osborne, Kristian Dennis and Alex Lacey are probably all worth a start as well, as a minimum. Ardley will lose even more support if he just reverts back to his favoured XI which keeps losing even after making wholesale changes for the Trophy and actually winning a game.

Does Barrow's 51 years in the league not makes us a proper club?

But nobody has claimed you're not a proper club Brother Chipmunx? And if somebody ever did then I can only presume they were on drugs or something. As you well know, Barrow were one of the founding members of the Third Division North and that automatically makes you a proper club.

Btw, are you sure it was only 51 years? Like, are you sure you can't claim some other defunct club's history as your own, like Wrexham did with Olympic Wrexham?

I don’t think we’ve ever lost to Stockport at the Rec, so get all your money on an away win tomorrow.
