I thought we deserved the win, but we had some luck after Denton missed a sitter on half time. Neither side could defend, but we managed to tighten up after half time. Brill didn’t have a save to make second half. (1)

Thought the Halifax fans having a go at Billy Heath at the end was harsh, not sure what more he’s expected to do after promotion last season. (2)

We handled Denton (3) a lot better this time round, mainly because we had two competent centre backs this time.

1) He's a bit of a tubster isn't he.
2) Like every manager of Halifax Town he's expected to piss every game 3 nil and play like fucking Brazil. Like we apparently used to at some mythical time in the past on a distant planet.
3) It's quite a skill to get the ball past the post from the actual goal line.

We're going down again, aren't we. :ds:

Bollocks result. Gateshead are fucking shite.

Holroyd missed a chance that I would've put away, and I'm shite.

They've only lost twice in their last 14 league games and you did better than we managed up there!

Halifax resorting to hacking us down from behind. No-marks. Sounds like they’ve been utterly dreadful second half.

Have to say that this result is the proof that we’re too good to go down, considering the state of a few of the others at this end of the table. Comfortable 15th-ish by the end of the season.
Oh
We can't blame the ref for this combobulation. The players are doing this all by themselves.
Not blaming the ref for the result we were terrible 2nd half. ROnly wish Eboue Adams was the one on the end of that crunching challenge 2nd half. Would've given the soft diving little prick something to really moan about. He would probably still be rolling around on the floor now.

Don't worry, you won't have to play against him next season.

Not a chance although it looks like Chester, Torquay, Guiseley and AN Other probably Hartlepool. Solihull seemed to have cracked it. Go knows were all the money is coming from.

That final relgatiom spot is between us, Barrow and Maidstone. Orient will survive and Moors are picking up points at the right time. I was of the band of people that thought the 8 point gap would stop us getting dragged in but it's now 3 points and Barra have 2 games in hand. We can't defend against pace so Dagenham will turn us over on Sat and our record at Wrexham is god awful. Hartepool will prob dick us again because they have runners. Ebbsfleet looked nowt much in the away game and that is the next time i can see us picking up points.

I have given Heath the benefit of the doubt much more than most but he named two full backs and a defensive midfielder on the bench. We have a young striker (khan) who came on against Macclesfield and ran at them with no fear yet Billy says they are not ready for this level. I won't join those calling for him to go yet but he is getting close to being indefensible.

Having seen some terrible Barrow sides in the past and some terrible opponents this season, I've always felt that we would pull away from this relegation zone - but time's ticking on.
I think we'll be okay if we can break our poor run of home results sooner rather than later, but there are a lot of lazy players that cause me concern in our side.
Like Mills nearly did last year, Cox could have relegated two clubs in one season!

It's getting down to the business end of the season alright. Whomever goes on a consistent run now will escape. I'm yet to be convinced we will follow last seasons resurgence at this point.

Methinks Hartlepool will go into administration halfway into February and get docked 10 points, which brings them right there next to Guiesley and Chester. That makes four teams far beneath the others in terms of points to get relegated.

You’re a bit weird, aren’t you?

Well, you’re a Coventry fan who regularly comes on to the non-league forum for no other reason than to repeatedly ‘predict’ the relegation of whichever recent ex-League club looks in the most trouble. It’s a tad odd.

Well first of all not all the teams I've predicted on this forum to be relegated are ex-League (Maidstone have never been up in the Football league iirc, and Guiseley haven't either and should have gone down last season), and I've said other things on this forum other than about the relegation battle earlier in the season. It's just that as a neutral I find relegation battles interesting and exciting (unless my club is involved in it), and as a result I speculate a lot about which clubs are to go down and why. You can find me doing a lot the same thing in the League 1 and Championship forums above.

I wasn't the only one who noticed that then.

As for relegation, 10 points deducted blah blah, we won't see the season out so whatever you predict is irrelevant.

I'm looking at the positives about us getting relegated.

The biggest positive will be no need to go to the shithole that is Dover.

Or Gateshead. I don’t mind the little tinpot grounds as they at least have some character. That place is just a soulless hole.

That depends on whether you class this Maidstone United as the same club as the old Maidstone United who were in The Football League. I know that technically they aren't, but I'm sure the fans are the same, so I class them as the same club. Same goes for all the other "phoenix" clubs in The Conference. Even AFC Chester.

One Shayman I went there with, who manages to be wrong about everything, said it was "impressive". I had to slap him for that one. :fl:
Another one of his gems is telling North Ferriby fans in pre-season, "Connor Oliver looks useful". I decided to let them think he'd gone there on his own. :dk:
