Great post shay. I agree with everything you’ve just said. Onto Barrow now, should be a tough game as it’s looked like they’ve improved

Dang it. Missed a penalty in the 85th minute against Gateshead. Had we won yesterday with back to back home games against Maidstone and Woking to come, it would have just given us an outside sniff of going on a late run.

Still, we're in no position to challenge for promotion to the Football League anyway. I wanted it more for an exciting little end to the season. Win the next 2 and you never know but we'll have to win some tough away games against Wrexham, Bromley and Macclesfield as well and I can't see us getting any more than 1 win there.

Fair enough, but you are just making my point for me. Not sure why you are so bitter.

I would say that late postponements don't matter when they involve clubs with no fans (part of the reason why clubs at this level don't care much when it happens), but that would be below the belt.
Not sure why i am making your point. You are arguing for clubs to cancel matches when the pitches are still playable on the off chance off a worsening condition. I am putting my point across why that is unrealisitic and not a conspiracy when it happens. It just has to be accepted as a part of non-league life. If the fact it happens bothers fans so much when it does happen then maybe they shouldn't plan long away trips when inclement weather is occurring/forecast. I am not bitter at all just tired of folk trying to blame a shite winter on fellow non-league clubs.

Postponements for clubs with fewer fans matters more as often their income streams are less able to absorb the associated costs of a cancelled fixture. Do you think Dover want the money from 500 Tranmere fans on a Saturday? or 150 fans midweek and a shedload of wasted catering and staffing bills?

I said clubs at this level are less concerned about inconveniencing away fans, as there are fewer away fans at this level in general and less comeback to the club when a game is called off. You agreed with me that clubs are more reluctant to postpone at this level because of the financial impact, hence reiterating one of the points I made above.

I fully accept that postponements are a part of football and I was not that concerned about what happened yesterday and I never claimed there was a conspiracy. However, clubs should still do all they can to flag up potential problems early and keep supporters informed, which I don't believe happened yesterday.

Think that is all I have to say on the subject.......

Whilst it is artificial fast tracked success. Oppostion fans have to accept that it has mostly come about because of a chairman with an opposite view of running a football club to one further down the road. The 'they'll be fucked when the money goes' argument was aimed at Fleetwood for years but investment in infrastructure means that they would likely survive in the FL now if Pilley walked away tomorrow. Many fans would love FFP in non-league but it is just a manageble system that the wealthy can circumvent if they so desire. Look no further than the top of the Premier League for evidence of this.

I can't imagine why you'd think that SMS, Rushden, who besides having a stadium that was the envy of even some established clubs and were producing bottled wine under their own label. peaked at 4500 in L1. When they stopped winning and Griggs had gone, they'd lost 60% of their fans within 2 years and are now being watched by less than 500 at Step 8. Thus far, Fleetwood have known nothing but success, but still can't get their core support above 3500 in L1. I suspect when the winning stops, their fall will be more brutal than Rushden's as the large numbers of disaffected Blackpool fans in temporary housing there, decide if they're going to be miserable, they might as well be miserable in their ancestral home at Bloomfield Road, They are always vulnerable in any case to a surge in Blackpool's fortunes. These arguments apply equally of course, to the latest joke club on the West coast, who will go down faster than that hooker on Hugh Grant's smelly knob. :bdick:

Please feel free to roll over on Monday as well. Remember the ground share favour. And how we were so kind to let you sign Andy Halls.

If you spurn a chance to increase your goal difference by 5 or 6 that'll be your fault.

We were back to awful against the O's. Struggled to create much 1st half whilst looking very nervous and lucky to be 0-0 at half time. Losing Coddington on the restart along with a peach of a goal from the resulting free kick killed any chance.
After Rooneys red card being rescinded he was then given a four game ban for comments made to the fourth official as he walked of the pitch in that game. Silly boy.

I'm only surprised you still think anyone cares. Go on, you're an irrelevance now, back into the obscurity you came from. We can't even say it's been nice knowing you. :bdick:

That's just not our style; when we win we do it efficiently with no unnecessary, showy-off goal scoring.

Two penalty shouts for us (one around 7 mins, the other right at the end). The first one on McQuoid i've seen given but wasnt a definite penalty, but the pull back on Reynolds from the corner was stonewall and I can only assume the referee didn't see it.

Just seen Macc's winning goal against Woking  will be hilarious if that is the goal that wins them the league.

Would've been just as funny though if the defender managed to clear it to see the look on the Macc strikers face who had already run off celebrating.....
