Hi David, what's Keiron Burton like? We just loaned him until the end of the season and you've had him already?

I thought he was decent at the back, he got recalled from his loan spell with us. I think Poolie had injury issues.

Rightly so players and management got some grief at the end.
Yep and only two players (one who only played 5 minutes) stopped to applaud the fans.

Team full of a cowards who think they’re too good for this and a spineless manager backing them up

I think thats our manager sacked now.

How our team full of professional footballers are repeatedly outworked and outfought by semi-professionals is pathetic. Darlington wanted it so badly tonight, our players didn't care from the first minute. A bunch of overpaid arrogant tossers

Players were told in January most of them wouldn't be getting a new contract (as we can't afford it) and they've all downed tools
My Chester fc mate reckons your budget is north of a £million, which is about 3 times ours.

He's decent enough. Did ok when we were very poor earlier in the season. Get's stuck in, and not afraid of a physical battle. Pretty good on the ball as well.

Not sure what it is but our owner at the start of the year was giving out silly money (cause it wasn’t his) so our budget will be big.

Will be much more normal next year as majority of the team are on 1 year deals

Criminally underused at Pools in a season were we've bad CB after CB playing, barely had a chance with us.

Excellent 3 points for the Magpies away at Hereford, keeps the pressure on Scunthorpe in the chase for 2nd place. Another very difficult away tie at South Shields now on Tuesday.

I massively overestimated Bishop Stortford.

We are in terrible form but they may be the worst team we’ve ever played.

5-0 win but means nothing if we just lose to Spennymoor on Tuesday

Sent off on debut! Second yellow for dissent after ref gave an incorrect decision. Was excellent up to that point though.

Probably m-o-m before the sending off. I knew how he felt because the ref and the lino on my side were completely useless.. They need to look at the refs at level 6 , because a good portion of them are no better than Sunday league refs.

They are the probably the worst team to play in this league in a long time.

Despite doubling us :err:

They were utter dogshit as they stumbled to an easy 2-0 victory at our place in the worst Darlo performance that I have ever seen. Josh Clowning has so much to answer for.

Didn't think this season could get any more embarrassing but then we served that shit up. Reckord pulled a sicky in the warm up, third time this season he's done that, so McGrory (RB) was named as replacement. But then Durrell (who's STILL overweight btw) comes out instead. Boston's RWB had him on toast, no fat pun intended, and within ten mins we're two down and they're taking the mick down our left because he was blowing after 5 mins. 4 mins later Durrell then "gets a tight hamstring" and is subbed for McGrory. Farcical. Defensively we were all over the place with several players barely jogging.

Second half we did make a come back of sorts, getting it back to 3-4 but Boston always looked like scoring every time they went forwards. Cook's tactics have been very poor, dealt a bad hand admittedly with the crap the Chambers and Flowers signed, but still. In true Chambers style a "short term appointment" means he's here on a two year contract however rather than the end of this season.. Make it make sense. Rip it all up and start again next season in the Southern league, it can't be any worse than this one surely. Just an utter disaster

We play yet another Tuesday night game in the North-East, fourth one in a row

Blyth - Conceded a last minute equaliser from Blyth's first shot of the entire game
South Shields - Battered them first half and should've been at least 3-0 up, ended up losing
Darlington - Got humiliated 4-0

Surely it can't end up worse

First league win at the Deva Stadium for 20-something years for us. We were good value for it too. Chester had a lot of the ball but looked a shadow of the side who pulled us apart earlier this season. When we got the ball down and played we caused them problems, but we had to work to do it. Great move for our goal in the second half, with Richie Bennett scoring a great header. 3 more points closer to safety for us, 3 away wins on the trot and 4 consecutive clean sheets too.

I don’t think we are physically strong enough to get promoted from this league every team we play is like a team of giants compared to us, tonight we controlled the first half hour with the ball flashing across your area countless times with no one able to get a touch on the ball to steer it in. I thought you grew in confidence as you realised we were not likely to score against you, you should be able to stay up from here and we will I’m sure see you next season.

We conceded in the last minute against Tamworth to lose the game, lost count how many times we've done that this season. A far better performance, Tamworth were very direct, with a guy who had a ridiculously long throw causing havoc. But they didn't look particularly good at all. Just shows how poor this league is this season and sadly shows up how crap our recruitment was.

We took the lead with a rare Danny Wright goal. He had another chalked off for handball and then proceeded to miss another two good chances. Theo Robinson really should have increased our lead too. We ultimately paid the price, last ten mins Tamworth battered us and our poor fitness told.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
Massive win for us away at Scarborough in a weird season for us. With our away points total this season we frankly should be battling Tamworth for the title but our home form has been dreadful this season and that is unusual considering the previous seasons we are always strong at
Home.

Interesting 7-8 games to go, last night I think killed off Scarborough, South Shields we’re heading out of it but got themselves back in with the late win.

You’d say top 3 are there, then it’s between Brackley down to Spennymoor (due to games in hand) for the other 4 places.

Warrington is the side I’m keeping my eye on I was extremely impressed by them a couple of weeks ago and they are getting closer and closer to that top 7.

Curzon have 7 games left but I mostly look now at the next 5 games to determine our season, our last two games are Gloucester at home and Bishop stortford away and wel frankly if we cannot win them games we don’t deserve near that top 7……we need into the top 7 heading into them last two matches and most of the rest have some horrible games Warrington/hereford, Brackley/chester, Alfreton/spennymoor, Tamworth/South Shields, Chester/Darlo, Hereford/Boston, rushall/Warrington, Spennymoor/kings lynn……all may have things to play for.

But……..2 dreaded home games on bounce now!!

Gutted to lose in stoppage time last night but overall pleased with 6 points from the 3 away games at Stortford, Hereford and South Shields. 2 home games now coming up so hopefully we can cement our play off place. Good news that we have Kiersn Glynn now till end of season.

Chester have gradually improved their away form this year, but consequently our home form has deteriorated. Southport came with a plan and executed it perfectly. It seems that once we go behind that's it. Too many 5/10s for us last night and the manager seems to be making no attempt to rectify our appalling home form. We need to be more direct. The play-offs now have the Sword of Damocles hanging over them.

Another annoyingly late postponement for us, soften by the fact that Chorley lost though.

2nd place is entirely in our hands now, all we have to do is win our games and worry about nobody else. Nobody to blame but ourselves if we fuck it up

Never imagined for one minute it was possible after the mess of the incompetent Gowling left us in.

Word of warning do not let this man anywhere near your beloved football club :told:

Dominant performance from start to finish, even with 10 men for 30 minutes.

No clue how it only ended 2-0, hit the woodwork three times and had one cleared off the line. Took Banbury 97 mins to have a shot.

Another comfortable home win to keep the pressure on Sfunthorpe in 2nd, all we can do is keep winning games, if they win theirs then they finish second but for sure we will chase them all the way. Next up is Boston United at Victory Park.
Superb strike from Jack Hazlehurst today fir the first goal on the stroke of half time, made sure with further goals from Calverley and Ubaezuonu in second half.

Two points dropped against a dreadful Tamworth, look, they’re top and have got the results so deserve to be and good luck to them, but I’ve never seen such a bad side top of the league before. As usual we look good and get points from one of the top clubs but it’s against the bottom half sides, particularly at home we struggle against.

Two best defences in the league so a goalless draw is no surprise really.

Can only agree. Team of hoofers, cloggers and wind-up merchants. Offered no real threat all game and if we had been more confident in front of goal we would have dispatched them easily. At least two clearances off the line. Stanway could almost have had the afternoon off, rather than having to put up with Liburd's goading.

They're not a great footballing side but they're an excellent team overall

Only conceded 3 goals in their last 15 games which is absolutely ridiculous, they just don't make mistakes like the rest of us do
