He's not exactly playing for peanuts and a packet of bacon fries, is he?

Them signings under Day were out of the Blue. We have had that sort of money to spend since June 2013, but didn't spend it. Even now under McMahon our three signings have been two players already at this level plus one who was in non-league for the past few years before making the step up with a promoted side!

Don't get me wrong, I'll be the first to admit we've splashed the cash... but we're not the only ones. Sutton signing Fleetwood and Havant signing Hayter have proved that.

Oh stop it :D They've splashed on the odd individual that are probably on less than Danny Kedwell combined! You've splashed it all over the shop so don't try and use the odd signing to make it look like everyone else is too

They've still splashed the cash, regardless of how many they've signed - or will sign!

Our signing of Fleetwood, who will be on a more than decent wage for this level, is out of the ordinary for us this summer. Our other signings are either 'experienced' (a euphemism for old) or players with a point to prove.

But there is a stupid amount of money floating around this division this year. Should be interesting on a number of levels

We've signed Jonathan Miles from Spurs as backup to either Edwards or Hall. One of them will be heading out on loan.

We've announced that we are playing SC Farense of the Portuguese Second tier when we have our training camp in Portugal. Will only be at a training complex but will be a good experience for the lads. Shame the Club didn't announce it two weeks ago as I could afford to go then!

Ross Stearn
Tom Bolarinwa

Forwards:
Stuart Fleetwood
Craig McCallister

Returning players:
Jason Brown (goalkeeper)
Simon Downer (defender)

Departures:
Aaron Howe (Basingstoke)
Dale Binns (Wealdstone)
Ricky Wellard (Welling)
Jamie White (Gosport)
Bedsente Gomis (returned to France)

Our incomings I believe are completed, we've signed four new players.

Jordan Parkes (Hemel)
John - Paul Kissock (Whitehawk)
Robbie Willmott (Newport)
Jonathan Miles (Spurs)

So far just Brendan Kiernan, Dean Pooley (part of our team behind the scenes), Luke Rooney (Crawley) and Jordan Sanderson have left thus far. I'm sure 2 or 3 will head out on loan though as I think we have a squad of 22 or so... either Preston Edwards or Brandon Hall are definitely heading out on loan.

Our players report back to training on July 1 and we have a full pre season schedule, although it's shit from a fans perspective.

We have a weeks training camp in Portugal and a game against SC Farense of the second tier before heading home.

VCD Athletic away - July 14
Welling United away - July 18
Tonbridge Angels away - July 21
Billericay away - July 25
Boreham Wood away - July 28
Braintree at home - August 1

Dull and uninspiring really but Daryl McMahon has said he wants to play sides similar to what we are expecting to come up against during the season. Of course with the construction work that should be going on, that's why most of our games are away.

Our squad list:

Preston Edwards
Brandon Hall
Jonathan Miles

Joe Howe
Aiden Palmer
Matt Fish
Lloyd Harrington
Kenny Clark (contract runs out, but no news on whether we have offered him a new one or not...)
Kelvin Langmead
Anthony Acheampong
Tom Bonner

Matt Johnson
Stuart Lewis
Theo Lewis
Michael West
Leo Mazzone (youth)
Dean Rance
Alex Osborn
Sean Shields

Adam Cunnington
Matt Godden
Danny Kedwell
Charlie Sheringham
Tyrone Marsh

I'm actually looking forward to the new season now. Should be good. Just hope we get Truro, Bath, Gosport and Weston away on Saturdays when the weather is good!

Pre-season training starts tomorrow night for ourselves. No rest for the wicked!

In:
Dale Binns (Sutton United)
Ryan Hope (Boreham Wood)
Bradley Hudson-Odoi (Met Police)
Josh Urquhart (Harlow Town)
Oliver Duffy (Hanwell Town)

Richard Jolly is the only confirmed out who has gone to Kingstonian whilst Luke O'Nien returned to Watford (and was released, possibly at Exeter now). Jefferson Louis, Scott Davies, Tom Hamblin and Jonathan North signed deals to extend their stay at the club whilst I'm sure Wes Parker will remain as club captain.

PSFs:
Sat 4 Jul – Hanwell Town ( KO 3.00pm – N)
Sat 11 Jul – Stevenage (KO 3.00pm – H)
Tue 14 Jul – Staines Town (KO 7:45pm – A)
Sat 18 Jul – Dover Athletic (KO 3.00pm- H)
Tue 21 Jul – Wycombe Wanderers (KO 7:45pm – H)
Sat 25 Jul – AFC Rushden and Diamonds (KO 3.00pm – A)
Wed 29 Jul – Dagenham & Redbridge XI (KO 7:30pm – H)
Sat 1 Aug – Queens Park Rangers XI (KO 3.00pm – H)
Mon 3 Aug – Slough Town (KO 7:45pm – A)

I don't think I've ever attended a PSF before but I'll likely go to the Stevenage and AFCR&D matches.

Squad:
Jonathan North
Warren Carter (possibly?)

Ryan Watts
Wes Parker
Sean Cronin
Tom Hamblin
James Hammond
Oliver Duffy
Josh Urquhart
Carl Martin

Michael Corcoran
Elliott Godfrey
Daniel Brown
Matt Ball
Scott Davies
Shaun Lucien
Bradley Hudson-Odoi
Dale Binns
Ryan Hope

Jefferson Louis
Scott McGleish
Jonathan Wright

I'd like an extra striker in ideally, Connor Calcutt on loan again sounds good to me.

Margate would appear to be going for it. They've just signed Christian Jolley (ex AFC Wimbledon, Newport and Grimsby) and Jake Goodman (Millwall trainee and Luton, Aldershot and AFC Wimbledon loanee).

Whilst we've signed Josh Hutchinson from Potters Bar Town, a striker who banged in 32 goals last season.

What a surprise

Margate spunking even more money on players, yet still doing nothing about their ground :ffs:

Yeah, I don't understand that. Should certainly be trying to do something with the ground to bring in extra revenue. I know we are obviously spending a lot but once the ground is fully sorted out we will be making some money on that. Plus we're getting good amounts in sponsorship!

A fucktonne of cash and Terry Brown's experience/contacts. Will be in the mix.

Investment in infrastructure is for losers. Portacabins and temporary stands are the way forward.

Meanwhile, in the county town...

Holy mother of God. That stand expansion. Should be able to squeeze at least another twenty or so onto that. Or twelve fatties.

I'm getting déjà vu here. The last time Sir Terry took a team into the Conny Sarf via the playoffs, we went through in one season. We didn't spunk anywhere near as much money though.

I can't say I warmed to Margate last pre-season, but I wish Terry and Stuart luck.

No moaning from me, purely because I know the fuck tards in charge will give us two of Truro, Gosport, Bath, Weston in midweek.

Weston or Bath midweek sounds OK to me, easy enough to get to via the M4. I'm also thinking that Sutton will be our Christmas/NYD fixture once again (yawn from both sides).

Our opening fixture will be something non-descript, so Basingstoke (A) or Whitehawk (H).

We never get a decent game to start with. Would have had Salisbury last year had they been able to compete.

Hoping for Truro! Away of course.

Truro in August would be a nightmare due to holiday makers. I felt we always played them at the best time away at the best time - September/October. No holiday makers but still decent enough to make a weekend out of it

September/October is fine by me. As is April.

Bath in midweek is okay but we've had that the past two seasons. Want it on a Saturday. And not so it can be moved it either side does well in the Trophy!!

We've made some changes to our youth system. Previously the U9 - U16 was independent from the Club. It's now part of the Clubs Youth setup and former players Stacy Long and Osei Sankofa will be helping with the running of that. Pleased with that. Gerard Prenderville formerly of Dagenham, Watford and Boreham Wood will be running the proper youth team.

Not good with pics on forums from my phone!

Our new shirts were unveiled the other day. I quite like them. Will more than likely buy one for the first time since the 09/10 season.

The collar is weird but yeah, I kinda like the rest.

Looks like we begin with a trip to Sutton, followed by a visit from the Fleet. Interesting start!
