surely 'soft segregation' must be segregation ????
Which end is the terraced end?

Expect Lincoln City to be segregated

Terrace end is the near end, to the left as you walk in the turnstyles, where the Car Park is. Will also have use of the new downstairs Ravens Bar, not sure we've played Dover since our ground refurb.
Don't think there will be any segregation fencing etc, and fans will be allowed where they like though as was the case v Dartford in our Cup 1st Round last season, there will be an expectation that fans do not change ends at half time. Not sure why they don't just put a fence down the far corner and make it segregated - that end holds ample enough for the Dover away support, and there will be seats in the stand available (first come first served apparently)

Pretty sure your allocation increased on moving away fans to the SW.
That's actually surprised me but aye, it is true.

Will be frustrating for those who can't go to know that there will be hoards of empty seats. I guess it's difficult for Lincoln, do you take an extra 1,000 fans worth of gate receipts? Or do you keep the home fans happy and stop it feeling like a home game for us?

It's not even about that. It just can't work.

Put you in the Co-op and you get less tickets, or put you in the SW and you get more. It's not a case of just giving you a random block of the Co-op Stand because Blocks 7 (closest to the SW), 6, 5 and 4 Upper are all heavily populated with ST holders. Block 1 is the family area and you wouldn't split away fans in any event.

This is what I mean about upsetting the fans, plenty of times in the past sides have told ST holders to move for a one off to maximise revenue. Not for one minute would I think you'd do it but it is a viable business option. Where else would a business turn down 18k of revenue?

Yeah there seems to be a substantial amount going in there tomorrow. I'm not sure I could sit there if we scored to be honest.

Scunthorpe, will, of course, be to Chester - they have hardly any fans and never have done, they only travel in decent numbers to one away game and that is Grimsby.

We only travel well away to Wrexham? Christ, at least do some research on our away followings before spouting rubbish. Probably time to forget about Scunthorpe, they've got bigger fish to fry than a non-league team and have done for a while.

Bloody awful stand, if its sunny you can't see, raining you get soaked and the roof supports block your view!
You'll be pretty safe in there most of the fans who go in there take a tartan car blanket and thermos with them lol!

Tinpot sides, maybe. I understand what you're saying, but it was never likely, and never will be likely, to happen.

You'd not move ST holders in the Findus to accommodate extra away fans.

See what I mean - we can't even make tongue in cheek posts without getting bitchiness like a divorced Cheshire tart who has't pulled a toyboy on a night out in Didsbury...

Not bitchiness, just bored of you thinking you're still in division one.

What was the allocation when we were in the Co-op and needed that little bit behind the goal? Sure we took 1800 (admittedly the same as the SW allocation, asking more out of curiosity) when you battered us 5-0 in 2005/06?

Each block in the Co-op is circa 400 and away fans got four blocks. There was one season where you got an extra block (half a block in the upper and lower), which would have got you around the 1,800 mark. That was the season when fans on both sides decided to fight over the segregation and probably put pay to getting any additional seats in future games.

I've just checked the total attendance on that 2005/06 game, and it was 7,182, which was back in the days when derby games were well attended.

Think you got around 2100/2200 that season.

approx 90-100 Southport fans at Barrow - including a dozen or so in the stand. Not an official figure - but I got bored and counted them. Southport fans are far better than their team - they were dire....
