Decent game - heading into Extra time so the weather and heat might play a part .

That’s probably the winner. Well deserved goal for Rotherham. Pretty slack work defensively from Shrewsbury there.

Game was only ever gonna go one way. Shrewsbury looked so tired and so poor.

Yeah, Shrewsbury look knackered and I can't see them getting another goal unless it comes from another setpiece. Having said that, I don't think they've been that poor, more like Rotherham are simply the better side.

Well done Rotherham, very dominant performance.

Shrewsbury only Henderson and maybe Nsiala were up to the mark otherwise just never got going.

Full time whistle sounds and ensures Hurst is now all but surefire the next Ipswich Town manager.

Well done Rotherham, deserved it today.

Congrats Rotherham - but really feel for the Shrews. They must hate Wembley.

Probably the best result for all teams in league 1 next season though

Has it been agreed that he's going to Ipswich?

Shrews deserve it over the season but Rotherham were definite winners today. Henderson and Nolan must be guaranteed Championship players next year?

Good result for us Crewe fans who've had to put up with a few of them in the workplace giving it large all year. Tuesday will be fun at work.

In all seriousness though commiserations to them, best season in nearly 40 years and nothing to show for it is very hard to take. But congratulations to Rotherham too after that woeful year last year, an unlikely promotion at the start of the season and I certainly didn't see them going up when we beat them in the cup in November. But fair play to them and I wish them well.

Congratulations Rotherham and commiserations to Shrewsbury who've had an excellent season but just fell short at the death. I was willing you on for the last few minutes to repeat what we did against Wycombe in 2015 scoring in added time and winning on pens but wasn't to be.

Has it been agreed that he's going to Ipswich?

Nothing formal yet- general rumblings from the Ipswich camp is that it's only not progressed to this point because Marcus Evans didn't want to have any impact on the playoff final today.

I imagine we will formally approach on Tuesday.

"Town will hold formal talks with Hurst and Shrewsbury in the week ahead having kept their distance during the Shropshire side’s play-off endeavours.
However, it’s long been understood that they have been given a strong indication that negotiations will progress positively and barring a late hitch Hurst looks set to be named Town manager later this week.
Those talks with Blues owner Marcus Evans seem unlikely to take place face to face with Hurst, who is understood to be on a rolling contract with the Shrews, flying to Dubai for a delayed family holiday on Monday."

Unlucky Shrewsbury, you were by far the better team on the day but football is a cruel mistress. Hope you keep your squad together and have another crack next season, everyone was rooting for you to do it today.

Just realized Rotherham winning means that all teams relegated from the Championship will have bounced back at the first attempt.

Must be a first, not just at this level but in any division surely? (I'm not counting ones where there's only one promotion place)

It's certainly a first for League One, Sky Sports said as much after the game.

Paul Hurst sure does seem to love a Wembley defeat.

Well we didn't spoil it. Congratulations to all the team and staff for a great finish to the season.
Bit sorry for the Hursty and the Shrews who were magnificent this season. But didn't turn up today.
Millers were best all over the field today and deserved it. UTM ⚽⚽

congratulations Millers, unlucky Shrews, would have preferred Shrewsbury for a new ground for me, but Rotherham is like an outer suburb of Sheffield, so no travelling involved really.

Not Wembley, but he'll be in good company in terms of Playoff defeats if he does end up here.
I’m also looking forward to seeing your fans reactions to having Lenell John Lewis up front for you next season too..... :bg1:

Last time 3 of the relegated teams went up was from League 2 in 2006/07, but there's 4 promotion places so it doesn't quite fit the bill.

That’s a really bad sign in my opinion.
