Tbf, 21500 isn't bad for 1 day of general sale. Or is that 21500 altogether so far for us? If it is the latter, I agree, thought we'd hit 30k by now

21,500 altogether I think Gassy.

Don't forget the pre-sales of tickets to fans of other clubs. I know a few FGR supporters who bought the vouchers, not in anticipation of us playing there, because they wanted to enjoy the occasion or have an opportunity to take the kids to Wembley without having to fork out a King's Ransom.

Looks like we have a fully fit squad as of right now. Big boost to have Robertson back as Toto was very shaky at fullback IMO and it made our back 4 extremely flat. Having a recognised leftback and Magnay back on the right is crucial. The only question is who partners Pearson, it'd be harsh on Toto to be straight up dropped instead of having him back at centre half but Gowling was brilliant during both legs. Probably Hurst's biggest decision I reckon.

Hopefully no-one for either team picks up any injuries on the week before, never a good way to miss out.

The only real dilema I can think Clarke has is whether Harrison comes back in for Blissett. Personally, it would be Harrison for me, he was on fire before the sending off. Blissett did do a good job in the FGR 2nd leg though. Can't see any other changes apart from that. Apparently it's very touch and go on whether Stu Sinclair is fit, he'd only take up a place on the bench if he is because he hasn't been playing but he's a cracking player to bring on if we need to, he's been out for quite a while though.

Clarke will put who ever he feels will be most effective alongside with Taylor. he changes tactics and line ups to suit the opposition, so I can see Harrison starting personally.

As mentioned above, hopefully no injuries. Remember the Shrewsbury (captain wasn't it?) Who got injured in the warm up in our play off final?

Thought sales would be higher too, but I think everyone has also just realised RavenBish is a Notts County fan.

Most of the day trippers from bristol would've gone with City a few months ago. Think we'll end up taking about 32,000

I'd accept 32,000, infact I'd be pretty pleased, but my guess is 28,000

Next update on ticket sales in Monday morning apparently
I reckon we'll take around 30,000 and hopefully grimsby will take at least 15,000
Tickets arrived this morning, it's gonna be a long week leading up to this now

The closer it gets, the more my gut feeling slides towards Grimsby getting a shithouse 1-0 to finally do it. Absolutely the perfect conditions for them - a de facto away game crowd-wise, will see less of the ball, suits a counter-attack game.

I think it will be more of an intriguing Final than a thriller.

The two best defences in the league, so much at stake, the two teams might be decent calibre but I don't blame anyone for thinking it may be a low scoring, cagey affair.

If the 2 league games are anything to go by it certainly will be. I think I'd take a scrappy boring 1-0 win rather than a 4-3, I don't think my heart could take that. :bg:

Have to be honest I always thought some of the predictions people were making about ticket sales were very optimistic. Especially for Grimsby who've been to Wembley very recently.

Still looks like it'll be a decent overall figure though. Comfortably higher than the previous record for the Conference.

I couldn't ever understand the Rovers fans who thought we'd take 40k just because we did it last time. A lot tougher an ask for people (day-trippers) to go a conference game for £40. Also, it was the new Wembley's first season, definitely an added reason for the day trippers to show up. I still would have liked to think we'd get 30k though, I'll be disappointed if lower, not that it really matters.

If we hadn't been twice in the last 7 years (and lost), if there were any trains and if it wasn't a scandalous rip-off, we'd have take over 20k. I'll be happy if most of the bottom tier gets filled but it doesn't really matter. The neutrals will be supporting us anyway, won't ya Bees?

To be honest the ticket sales figures are all a bit conflicting.

So from the clubs, we know Grimsby had sold 10k as of yesterday, we had sold 21k as of Thursday. Conference now saying that 40k sales have been reached, but I'm assuming that doesn't include neutrals. Because if it does, that would mean our ticket sales would be the same, if not less than they were on Thursday. At the same time, the Conference have denied that sales have surpassed that of the 2010 final, so something isn't quite right.

So I'm assuming we're now nearing, or have even reached 30k, and I expect us to sell another 5k or so in the next week - once the media coverage of the game begins to get going.

I assume it's all ticket? Would be good if you could pay on the day, like the city JPT game. There must have been a good 1000 Bristolians who thought on the morning, why not? Plus the people dotted about London who would have been tempted by on the gate sales?

I think you can pay on the day, not 100% sure though.

Hmmm, with our record against you last season I can't guarantee that! I think I'll be strictly neutral on the day, willing whoever is in possession at the time to score.

Alright gas fellas, hope you're all well? This is NOT a piss taking post BTW.
How's it been this year down here then? A refreshing change or a sad indictment?
I watched both legs of both games and think (on my very limited viewing) that our nearest neighbours might well win next week. Grimsby are no mugs though and can definitely finish well.
As our season has long since finished, I just wondered how you feel about your club's fortunes after a year in this league and the upcoming court case.
It's a massive week for rovers to be fair.

It has been a pleasant change ciderup, although I am obviously hoping that a win on Sunday will save me from any blemished memories of the Conference - as stupid as that sounds. Very refreshing to come across genuine football fans at this level, very kind sets of supporters too - both on here and at the away games etc. Obviously there are downsides to being at this level, the real lack of away crowds at the Mem is something which requires adjustment and some of the places we've been to are 'proper non-league grounds.' Also, there's a real sense of 'lose-lose' for us at times - if we win, we should have done because we're Bristol Rovers, if we lose we're a laughing stock. There has been obvious change at the club, both on and off the field, and we've adapted in months (the fans, the manager, the players etc.) when it's taken others such as Luton years. IF we can go up on Sunday, I'd say it has definitely woken up and improved the club. I don't feel DC wouldn't have had us near the relegation zone again this year if we had stayed up last year to be honest, but there's been a huge change in ethos, expectations of the players re: fitness etc. which is great to see.

Yeah the court case is a bit unwelcome to be honest, but we've been dealing with this sort of thing for a while now. I know we've had many 'false dawns' in the past so wouldn't get carried away but it would be great to see both go our way. Feet on the ground and just hoping we put in a great performance next weekend. Congratulations on your successful season too by the way, fantastic to have had such success.

Thanks for the congrats but my post wasn't about us.
It's refreshing to read that the 'ethos' may have changed at the rovers, it's been a long time coming.
Nice post fella!

Alright CU our old pal, where have you been?

I've got to say, I've enjoyed this season. That's not to say I don't desperately want to he out of it, everything can change next year, we could lose a couple of players should we not go up, start losing games and quickly the conference could turn quite miserable.

This season has been refreshing and it's all down to DC. He's completely changed the mentality and feeling around the club. He's signed players on lower wages who actually work hard for the shirt, the complete contrast to the overpaid wasters formally employed by the club. If we go up, that's his third promotion in a relatively short career and there is no doubt that people will start to take notice.

Grimsby will be a tough opponents, it'll be cagey and tight. Don't know which way it'll go at present. Confident in the team but won't write off a Grimsby, they're a good side.

As for the court case, out of sight out of mind for me. I expect nothing in stadium matters so I won't be getting my hopes up.
