I was about to say at 4-0 that pessimistic me can only see us winning from here and then we concede!

Cowleys won't be happy about not getting the clean sheet.

Remember our first home game under the Cowleys v nfu and he was more bothered about the one we let in than the six we scored

Another free header, lessons not learnt. Diabolical.

Game was lost at 2pm as soon as I saw the team sheet.

I genuinely can’t understand how a manager that spent the majority of his professional footballing career playing as a centre back cannot organise a group of defenders to defend efficiently against set pieces.

5-1. Goodnight.

Six.

All our corners, starting with our goal in the 2nd minute, have been to a runner at the near post. Four of our goals have come from it. You'd think they'd learn.

Frustrating to concede 2 when we've played like that. Even more annoying that we haven't been given a penalty in the match. We've been threatening to give someone a tonking recently just the finishing hasn't been good enough. However, take that all away as Vale fan you'd be fuming to concede 4 goals from corners (and could have been more). Unforgiveable.

Nice to be involved in an 8 goal thriller I guess...

Not even particularly annoyed about it in all honesty. Just seems to be the case this club is destined to remain a complete laughing stock. Well done to Lincoln though, can only beat what’s in front of you no matter how pathetic they are.

Arguably the worst league game in our history considering the division and the location of it. Aspin should walk on that, totally shameful.

We are missing some key players so let’s put a central midfielder on the left wing (Pugh) let’s debut a lad who hasn’t played in the EFL and put another debutant up front alone with zero support... at fucking home.

I’m livid, the goals were comical, we’ve been decent at set pieces but without the physicality of Pope, Manny in there it was messy, that said just basic defending avoids about five of the goals.

Two weeks ago I left Vale Park and was chuffed at how much progress we’d made after a Valiant battle against Exeter reaped rewards, I accepted that may have taken it out on us when we lost to MK but Grimsby and today were horrific, shocking line ups, poor communication and lack of any direction whatsoever.

To lose twice to any league Two side at home by four goals in not good enough, it’s beyond embarrassment, Norman Smurthwaite and Neil Aspin should hang their heads in shame tonight for that.

Hopefully he does the honourable thing and resigns and we can get someone in with some experience who will put the relatively decent league two squad in its right place.

Even though you could argue Vale weren't at it today, one thing I will add is, that was a brilliant performance considering we had to change the formation just beforeore the game started due to Shackell's injury.

Just hope him, Freck, akinde and O'Connor are okay, some key players there.

Brilliant result, forgetting the scoreline, when you consider the disruption to the side.

We lose Akinde and O'Connor, so change to 3-5-2. We then lose Shackell in the warm up and have to go 4-4-2 and at HT we lose Frecklington as well.

The spine of the team basically ripped out, albeit Wharton's a more than adequate replacement at the back.

Only other thing to really say on this is results and team selections like today and add in Grimsby too are bordering on sackable offences to me now. Been loathe to say that mainly based on who would do any hiring and firing but this is getting less defensible by the week.

If he doesn't walk after this, something is wrong. To concede 4 similar goals tells you that he's probably lost the players, but I think the most annoying thing is how we don't go for it at home. He's lost my backing today as he's run out of excuses. These are his players, and constant changing and playing them out of position leads to results like this.

Aspin out

Thing is Lincoln we’re not exactly stunning or anything today which is most worrying, had they been on top form it could of been worse!

You give those chances at four corners Macclesfield Town score four it was that bad defensively it was beyond comprehension. Vassell clearly isn’t ready for EFL football based on that. Without Pope we’ve little up front (although we should of scored at least another with the Smith free header) and again with Manny our spine falls to pieces.

How can that be defended today? 140 odd years there’s very few times this club can feel as low as it should after that. Working class area the least the fans expect is effort, lack that and the daggers are out.

Players and management meeting now in progress... see what happens. I wanted him to do well but he can’t take us further.

You win 6-2 away from home and you are annoyed about a penalty not being given?! :surr:

But you won 6-2 and are walking the league! Unbelievable!

Well of course I'm delighted with the win, but when you watch your captain get completely taken out, injured and nothing is given its annoying.

Looking very good at the moment but a bit over the top to say we're walking the league. Only four points between us and yourselves.

We would’ve had more chance had we give them 5 penalties.
That was a masterclass from Lincoln of exposing your opponents weakness, and punishing.
We actually had 3, 2 minute spells of good football....positives.
