Didn't touch him at all. Bit wild but he was only trying to block the clearance, bit shit seeing a kid get sent off by such an experienced player acting the dick.

Brilliant win for us anyway without our captain and star player. We'll be good if we can work out how to play at home.

Yeah I've not really got any complaints about the actual decision, just the shitty reaction from Forde.

That first goal by Campbell is great.

Shite defending for both of the goals we conceded. should never have that much time to pick your spot. although surprised no foul given in build up to second. touch of class from Roberts for his assist shame he was absent for the other 95 minutes. good game plan well executed by county. sat deep soaked pressure and hit us well when it mattered. nice to see a team playing with a striker at fratton too.
the lad that got the red was acting as complete dick off the ball lashing out at people minutes before so would imagine it was just a rush of blood moment. probably aided by doyles winding up antics.

that would be forde looking at the bloke sliding past before he decided he was injured. not surprised it got missed though to be fair. lino in front of the North stand had a mare. only decision he gave the whole game was a foul on the county keeper who had been flattened by his center back

Was his first start for us as a teenager so yeah, big crowd and all that, reckon he's just lost his head a bit. Frustrating to be without him for three games when Stead is injured, mind.

We're gonna score goals against anyone, got loads of attacking threat in the team even without Stead. Problem is that our defence and home form look like costing us a shot at the top few positions, hopefully coming through those last few minutes without conceding might give the former some confidence.

Yep we need to find a way to win at home. Our away form is impressive but our home form is woefully short of where we should be.

Adam Campbell take a bow son. Brilliant goal for the first albeit a bit lucky after that first touch!

The Pompey goal is just terrible defending, how we don't see that out of play... Kinda embarrassing

Although I'm convinced you're talking bollocks.......there appear to be fans down the United ground and a few down the Town ground who agree with the findings of the Flat Earth and other NASA Plots Sub-Committee:

I've seen the "proof." In no way does that support your claim that the ground, commonly known as Meadow Lane, is actually The County Ground. It does confirm that the ground properly known as Meadow Lane or the Meadow Lane Stadium is sometimes referred to as the County Ground or County's Ground.

Yeh,I understand the point you're making but 'County Ground' is the actual name.
I've known this for years.

Genuinely don't doubt it.

I've known lots of things for many years - doesn't make all of them true. I occasionally discover I'm wrong or have been wrong - sometimes to my great advantage.

Well that can happen.
For further proof check out Simon Inglis's 'Football Grounds of England and Taffyland'.My copy's buried somewhere but I'm pretty sure he comments about the 'County Ground' and the 'City Ground' and how they should be the other way round.

Ok, I'll be honest here. I've refrained from joining this ML or CG discussion because I have my doubts. I won't say Football Purist is wrong as I've heard a few people refer to Meadow Lane as The County Ground. One of those was a pensioner, a Forest fan who used to frequent my local. He would always refer to his home town's clubs grounds as The City Ground and The County Ground. Now, he was quite an educated man and he knew County's grounds was indeed called ML, but he once told me that to him it will always be called The County Ground.

And no, this guy wasn't FP as he supported Forest and not Crewe. Also, I don't think it's possible to make contact with the living through the internet when you're six feet under. An ouija board might work though........

That much is true - Notts are based in the city, Forest in the county. Maybe it was a thing decades ago, but i've never heard anyone refer to it as owt other than Meadow Lane.

What the hell is this all about!? Who cares?

Can we go back to discussing how shit our defending was, please? That first goal is pathetic from our point of view.

The name of a clubs ground is a fundamental part of their history and identity.
So worth discussing I suggest.
And ofcourse I'd like to prove I'm right and show that those that were quick to condemn my wisdom were infact wrong.
Which I think I'm now doing. ;)

Great win for us, Collin looked fantastic in goal, don't know how Pompey didn't get a second. Really sloppy goal to concede by us though, had numerous chances to clear it away before Roberts scored. Two very well taken goals by us though, good thing Campbell scored because we're gonna struggle up front now with Stead, Oliver and Collins all unavailable. Can see why the ref gave a red, but didn't appear to touch the goalie who made a meal of it by far.

Never mind all that.
Are you one of these Pies who didn't know your home is The County Ground?
