Won 1 - 0, with Ingsy bagging the winner. A few players looked well off the pace according to the Echo, but with 9 pre-season games to play, I'm sure they'll be up to speed before long.

Aye. Firmino looked fat. Mane was sharp. Matip started shaky but grew into the game later. Karius had nothing much to do. Ovie Ejaria looked class. Never heard of him before. Ings with a great finish for the winner!

Yeah I heard about Firmino looking as if he'd been on the tacos (or whatever they eat in Brazil!). Ejaria was apparently a revelation, Liverpool nicked him from Arsenal I believe.

Our U21 kids starting pre season with a 2-2 draw with Arsenal U21s. We were 2-0 up but let it slip.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
That seems early to kick off pre season.

We're playing nine (9) games.

Unheard of. We'll definitely pick up a few injuries along the way but meh. At least it's something to watch. Boring as fuck, but less boring than doing nothing.

I always play 10-12 friendlies in pre-season on Football Manager, Klopp's got the right idea.

Well if he has then you have the wrong idea playing so many.

Piss off. Four easy games and two hard games at home, then you're good to go. More than that and you're asking for injuries. That's like the shit Smat does before blaming bad luck when he screen shots his injury list.

My standard is ten easy home games with the preseason training set to fitness and tactics (scheduling bar all the way to the left). At least for my first season. I usually lower it once the next season comes along and the players know the tactics etc.

Is it true Liverpool fans out-cringed themselves by setting off flares and invading the pitch at Tranmere?

Quite impressed with just how much we wind you up, at least Johnny's got a mate in here now.

Will Ings start PL games?
I can't speak for the Liverpool fans but I'd say he has a chance.

He's a good player, underrated I'd say. An injury halting his season last year was a huge shame. I know a coach who worked with him when he was younger who said he was one of the best he's ever seen and he has a good CV.

I would say he has a good chance. He has a good work ethic in addition to talent. Unfortunately he missed a pen today but that shouldn't be a much of a big deal.

Overall, very good performance. Very impressed with Grujic. He has built himself well for the PL since he signed last season. Rest of the youngsters did well too.

Klopp: “That little voice in your head say’s I’m tired…you have to tell it to shut up." :fl:

P.S. LOVE the away kit!

That's a fair few. Suspect there'll be a couple of 'kids and ressies' in there along the way?

I really can't be doing with these international tours. Why are City flying halfway around the world to play United? Fuck that. Good on Liverpool for going old school. How much has that been worth to Fleetwood and Tranmere if nothing else?

Yeah apparently Grujic really impressed as did a few of the other kids on show.

Next stop Wigan on Sunday.

Just so we don't force the mods to rename this thread the Liverpool Pre-season discussion, we beat WBA 2-1 yesterday.

And converse.

2-0 win at Stevenage..

Capoue actually scored a goal!

Sinclair with the other.

Sounds like we missed about 20 sitters though.
