Numbers on BBC seem to indicate that Fleetwood are getting 35% (n.b. usual in this case is that it's 35% of the profits made on him, meaning 35% of £19,000,000).

Fleetwood would get £6,650,000
If you're at 25% you'd get £1,662,500

Fairly sure we had something like this when we sold Lee Hughes to West Brom. I think we got a sell on fee when they sold him to Coventry and then another one when WBA bought him back again.

It's the difference between a straight sell on clause, and a sell on of the portion of the profits. You don't get the x% of the second transfer fee but if he goes again for a profit you get a share down the line, and it will happen continuously until someone doesn't sell with such a clause or the player stops going for a profit.

We got a 25% sell on clause (plus £5k rising to £10k based on appearances) at a tribunal when Kayode Odejayi moved to Cheltenham, and they ended up selling him for £200k to Barnsley. So we did alright out of that.

It's good when tiny non league clubs get windfalls from things like this. Looks like FC Halifax are next to benefit.
