Surely Humphrys moves up a league or to one of the higher spending L1 clubs based on Maloney's comments? He really wanted to keep him.
Really???.......Who would take him in the championship.....Stockport or Mansfield would be my guess

Probably us. We signed fucking Ben Woodburn, Izzy Brown, and Connor Wickham.

We announced our retained list last week, pretty much everyone retained for next season. Two players are in discussions about their futures - Kane Hemmings and Alex MacDonald. All the loan players have returned to their parent clubs as expected, whilst Harry Anderson and Theo Alexandrou have been released.

Pretty happy with that all told, bit of a continuity which will probably help Revell, wouldn't fancy him having to overhaul the squad at this stage. The two released players barely featured for the club so won't be much of a loss but wish them both well.

I thought Hemmings was Reid's best strike partner last season so wouldn't mind him being retained but we would need to look to add goals from somewhere, we were so heavily reliant on Reid. When he was unavailable or not on it then we didn't look like scoring. MacDonald seemed to be a very positive influence on the squad but he wouldn't be much of a miss on the playing side of things.

I remain wholly unconvinced on the Revell appointment but keeping the majority of Steve Evans squad together seems positive. Our recruitment before Evans joined the club was shite so I'd rather move forward with this group than with bunch of fresh recruits that more than likely wouldn't be up to scratch.

Wigan going for a complete revamp up front, releasing Josh Magennis, Charlie Wyke and Steven Humphrys. Ben Amos and Tom Pearce also leaving.

I would take Humphrys down here. Good player who would give Wellens options.
Good luck, he was on 8k a week at Wigan. No wonder they had/have so many problems

We tried to sign him in January but couldn't agree a fee. I know Parky has had him watched a few times since too. Wouldn't be surprised to see us in again. Not sure where he fits into our system though

Would not surprise me if he rocked up at Wrexham.....Decent player on his day, but they are coming less often

Stockport County.
Sarcevic confirmed as leaving us, couldn't agree a deal. I imagine he's simply got a better financial deal (in terms of contract length factored in) elsewhere, probably another ambitious L2 club ala Madden and Chesterfield.

Top player, reckon he'd have been good in L1. When fit, our best midfielder all round IMO. A touch injury prone.

A lot of experience and quality is going out the door in him and Madden. I understand not wanting to break the bank for 32 and 34 year olds and I understand the prospect of getting better younger players now we're in League One but a void has been created.

I see Jordan Williams is leaving Barnsley. He's one we've definitely watched in the past. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see him rock up here on a free. Meh signing, but that's us.

Greg Cunningham would be an excellent freebie for anyone in this league if they play a back three and need another left-sided option.

Was more than solid whenever he played in the Championship this season but may only play 25-35 games rather than 40+

The best LB I've seen for this club and has converted into a very good CB since his injury problems.

Heard he might go back to Ireland but seems too soon for that.

Bodvarrson and Jerome and Declan John who was at Salford on loan are the only Released players from the first team squad.
All loan players have returned to their parent clubs.
So basically we are eight players short but only one [Maghoma] from our strongest Eleven

Bodvarrson will get a lot of offers from this level I’d have thought, the sort of striker we’d probably try and sign, clever and experienced.

He’d get a lot more game time signing for a club a lot smaller than Bolton.

According to our forum some Bolton fans are linking Declan John with us. Definitely an area we need covering
