I am interested if any Dale fans respond to this thread as there was no sign of them on this message board before or after our match last Saturday. They must be on Summer holidays ?

We haven't done anything here in yonks, we could have Messi and Ronaldo while they play a bunch of dregs they find in their town centre and they'd still beat us. I fully expect us to get beat and anything else will be a bonus.

More shite from Spee on the members board. Yet to get fuck all right. Get a life and go and watch a game instead of playing football manager. Absolutely clueless.

I'll have a chomp (for you Loggerheads !!)

Dale haven't started the season too well, as you will have seen first hand last week. Our defence is all over the place, and despite Hilly telling us he's happy with it, there are clearly big problems.

However, we started poorly last season, and then progressed strongly, so it's early days yet.We do (on paper) have a strong midfield and decent attack, so not too many alarm bells yet.

Bury too have not set the world on fire to date, but surely they will click into place soon with all the big money signings and long, high paid contracts they have given.

As for the game....who knows. We normally do well against the buckets, but I think today will be a draw at best.

As for UTS, I reckon he could well be a Dale fan on the wind up. Some of the drivel he posts makes Firthy's crowd posts look balanced.

Finally, I'd urge everyone to arrive at the ground early. There is already significant traffic chaos in the area (the police have said it's a result of the huge number of Rotherham fans arriving for their home game against Charlton some 65 mles away and completely clogging the North of England's roads)

Our midfield is far to lightweight but this new lad Ince, if fit should shore that up and we may sneak a draw.

Hoping for some working batteries this year. No fun being pelted with flat batteries by a group of 12 year old spotty gits,

Must say, I'm always impressed with the Burberry cap brigade though !!!

I'm afraid that League 2 was better than either team produced yesterday. Poor poor game played in a quiet stadium.
Dale are more than down to the bones player wise due to several injuries, and rumours of a serious illness spreading through the squad.
Even the tannoy man quit yesterday.

So far, in just 4 league games we have used 25, yes 25 different players and 10, yes 10 differten formations!!!!!
How the fuck does a team "gel" in those circumstances?
Sneaked a draw, Ince looks the player we need and young Williams looks class. The future IS bright "for the team even if survival may be dodgy) onwards and upwards.

We've got a lot of talented players but we're miles away from being a competent team in this league. It does seem that Clarke doesn't have a clue what his best team is either. I just can't wait until the transfer window closes.

Have you considered some kind of anger management or counselling course?

This, I just want it to close. The rumours about another goalkeeper being chased are very, very worrying, I am hoping against hope that it is just speculation.

Re the game, for the first time since August 2008 we didn't lose a league game at Spotland. I am going to take that as a positive regardless of what anyone says, especially considering we had ten men for most of the second half. Agreed with the Dale fan re the atmosphere, probably the most dead I've ever heard it in a long time. Our fans just seemed on edge with our record at Spotland and the last couple of performances in the league. The game reminded me of some of those bore fests played out at Gigg Lane during the Hillcroft love in. I do think that the performance of our defence and the impact of Ince helped with that though.
Let us just hope that the return fixture at Gigg Lane is a more entertaining affair and our manager's have actually worked out how to manage their team by then. I am sure Hill will, and whilst it is early days Clark's ridiculous handling of players and formations continues to worry me.
