Apologies for the fred title.

Last time we played Grimsby they were good form and an away point was considered a good one. Now we're at home where we usually win while their form has dipped drastically.

Not long to prepare for this game, for either team, and I'm hoping that being at home works to our advantage, also I hope half-season ticket sales have been positive and that we get a good attendance.

Grimsby however have signed Ade Yussuf, and there's a good chance that will make all the difference, because Mansfield rejects, as we all know, are the best players in the country.

This gonna be a tough match, Grimsby are a good team with one particular player standing out, but I got a feeling we'll nick it as we like to do at home. :animatedf:

As for Hartlepool well I find it really funny how their fans on here think of us as their big local rivals and they also see Grimsby as a big darby too. Them backward Pool fans really are a joke.

I can see this one being a one goal thriller.

We looked organised yesterday for the majority of the game at least so I'd expect us to be defensively sound but we've recently been crap going forward as a trade off. I know nothing about Yussuf but I imagine he'll play up front with Bogle, one being behind the other as we continue with some wacky formation Bignot's got us playing.

A point of course would be great but I have no idea how this game will turn out.

Well we'll concede at least 3 if we defend the way we have of late.

Grimsby attack is a bit more ruthless than Crewe's who really should have put 4 past us the way we defended. By the sound of yesterday we weren't much better in that respect.

I'm going for an end to end 3-2 defeat.

Fixed that for ya.

Seriously though, while not quite at Barnet level's of dependence, most of Grimsby's good attack is because Bogle has been banging them in, so it shouldn't be seen as so unrealistic that we might be able to limit the goals they score to less than us.

I'm going to reiterate that I think Raynes and Ellis would be a better centre-back pairing... or even Raynes and Brisley with Ellis at left back where he has done quite well earlier in the season. Or give Kevin Wright a chance in that position and go 3-5-2.

I'd give Kevin Wright a chance and move Gillesphey inside to centre back, alongside either Raynes or Brisley. Don't rate Ellis at all and I don't think Curle does either.

I'd keep it the same, maybe put Lambe in for Devitt on the right. I fancy us at home, much better form at Brunton Park than on the road.

Hopefully we get a good crowd in, second in the league and first home game since pre-Christmas. Many Grimsby making the trip up? I'd have guessed maybe 500 or so?

3-1 Jabo, Wyke, Lambe. Bogle (pen)

We haven't scored in 3 of our last 4 games but have only conceded 2, neither in open play. 2-0 Carlisle my prediction.

Had it been on Boxing Day we'd have brought around 5000 :animatedf: :gr: for this one though anywhere between 300 - 500 is my guess, most people I know who might probably have gone are back at work tomorrow including me.

We aren't exactly solid at the moment. We'll give you about 6 easy chances during the match, it's just a question of how many you take.

The answer is none. Despite the fact you've gone slightly off the boil, we haven't got the attacking skill to do you any damage. We haven't conceded many, but no team has actually performed well against us since Portsmouth.

I think Grimsby will score, our defence has been very fragile recently, but I'm confident in our forwards finding the net. Bogle could have an enjoyable day against Raynes/Brisley, or he could be reasonably well-contained, hopefully the latter.

I didn't realise your 'keeper is the one Man Utd poached off us as a youth player.

Hopefully he has a stinker! Sounds like he was decent on Saturday?

I assume it's Davies in midfield with Andrew and Mills as wingbacks which I think suits them both. Can't say I expected this much of a change but excited to see how it goes.
