Very quiet yesterday because Liverpool won eh. Who you going to get when he moves at the end of the season. You'll be stuck back in the mire when he does go.

Mane is on the same goals as King just to complete that list, but of course you knew that.

Josh King doesn't need any more publicity of his brilliance thank you, just leave him quietly banging them in from all positions unnoticed down here. Ta.

75 million. He'd probably say he's overrated and that everton never wanted him anyway and *insert exciting propsect here* is better.

Great news for united. Proven prem quality and a chance for him to step up and prove the likes of pags right or wrong. Time to do it on the big stage.

Also looks like the morata saga is over. Shame as im over in madrid right now. Could if brought him back. Stillthink a deal could be done but reals negotiating stance is weaken with this purchase.

Will also see rooney go. Giroud as well?

He'll bang them in in the league but when United play away at any of the giants in Europe he'll go missing with no touches in the box for the full tie, both legs. His hold up play is genuinely horrible for a guy his size.

I agree his hold up play is poor. Certai ly room for improvement. The big difference is when we play big teams there will be other bug players to put it onaplate for him to finish. Uniteds finishing last season was woeful. Chances a plenty. Proven striker who scores for fun when present with chances. Those chance came against weaker teams as everton simply dont create as much against the better teams.

Its obviously an unknown but he suits jose style and will make use of our current midfield attack.

I do now want perisic. Proven winger with pace will serve lukaku well.

We also failed time and time again to put weaker sides to the sword, a bit of a "flat track bully" is a prized asset in football.

Sure, but if Lukaku is a success and scores 25 goals it's just 7 more than you got out of Zlatan and he only made 28 appearances. Your rot runs deeper than the forward position but he's very good at scoring yes.

It's a great, obvious signing for me. He's only just 24 and, for me, is the best goalscorer in the league. Last player to score 25 league goals for a team outside the top 6 was Kevin Phillips in 99 (with a million penalties). And before that it was like 1993.
That's a pretty cool stat.

Replacing Zlatan's goals was the priority this window, contributions from elsewhere in the team were minimal last season so Morata would have still left question marks for me in that department.

His first touch and hold up play is indeed a bit of a concern; the opposition won't be as open as before and he'll spend large parts of the game in much tighter spaces than previously. The latter can be improved via coaching and experience, I'm not sure how significantly you can develop the former though - by 24 you either have it or you don't.

Need to get a winger with a good cross asap.

Lukaku is one of those players who I think would really struggle were he to go to another top league, yes he does score goals but he really doesn't have that much to his game. He can be an instinctive finisher but his movement and touch are not befitting that of a top striker, nor is his consistency or hold up play.

He is young, and might well improve on these attributes but for that kind of money you could get Morata or Dybala - better players and younger. It smacks of lack of ambition, Lukaku will score in the Premier League but I don't expect he will have much impact in Europe. Isn't his contract expiring next year, or the following year? It's an astonishing fee if so.

If Man Utd want to be competing at the top of European football I can't see them doing it with Lukaku leading the line.

Regarding some of the statistics, I remember prior to Bentekes move to Liverpool people were stating how his goal record over the past 2 years was only below that of Kane and Aguero. Fundamentally, scoring in the Premier League isn't that hard and you don't need to be a great player to do it

What a fucking mental fee for a relatively shit forward. Imagine the fee for a prime 90's OG Ronaldo today. Would be like £200m based off this.

Amazed they paid that much but overpaying is what United do these days, as shown by Pogba last summer. A great deal for Everton.

Not considering Kevin Phillips, Marcus Bent or Michu to be great players is a truly outrageous statement indeed.

The real test of a top striker will be at the top level, Europe and high level internationals, not domestic leagues. Poor players score goals in all top leagues - I don't think Grafite was an exceptional striker either.

The thing is we were quoted at least the same for Morata who hasn't proved himelf anywhere near as much, we are looking at 50 million for an average 28 year old winger whilst Arsenal have paid over 50 million for a player whose goal record isn't as good in the French league.

We have certainly been mugged down the years but I'm looking at that price tag and thinking despite the limitations to his game we are getting a reasonable price.

Pogba is gonna look more and more of a bargain these next few years. Markets gone crazy.

Pogba looks like a bargain already with the price tags on Morata and Perisic. We're a much better side with him in our midfield and he's still young (plus it rectified one of the biggest mistakes we ever made by letting him leave in the first place). I couldn't be happier that he's playing for us.

£75m for Lukaku is a decent price in todays market. If you want to sign key players from rich clubs (which pretty much all PL clubs are nowdays) who don't need the money then you have to match their valuation or settle for something else.

£70m or whatever it is Leipzig want for Kieta wouldn't be a bad deal for Liverpool. They have the money sitting there and in Klopp's eyes he'd seemingly greatly improve the side.

Lukaku will frustrate as much as he'll score and Jose doesn't exactly make strikers better. The big Belgian's record is good but he has to improve a hell of a lot yet if he wants to be a success at Utd.

He scored twenty-five league goals last season, that'd do just fine again this coming season.

Not really sure what this comment is about. Drogba, Costa, Benzema, Zlatan, Milito and Eto'o have all thrived under Mourinho. Many of those players were the finished article (hardly his fault), but Drogba and Milito improved immensely under Mourinho. He has a fantastic track record with centre forwards. Of those he worked with, only really Benzema performed below his peak level and he still knocked in over 20 goals when Mourinho won La Liga.

We'll see, neither were eager to hang around with each other while at Chelsea but things have moved on and maybe it'll work better this time around.

I saw nothing last season that could indicate £90m for Pogba under Mourinho could ever be described as a bargain.

Wouldn't be surprised if Rooney is part of the deal, then it will look a lot better for United.

75 mil + 15 mil addons + Rooney. United getting rinsed here. But looking through everton pov, its hard to replace his goals. Players everton signed so far are not up to standard imo.
