We are definitely joining the four stand crew, it’s in the works.

Hopefully the North Stand thing works, adds another 600 seats for the home capacity.
We are but it wont be this season i dont think

Looked a classic accidental collision between head and elbow. :shifty:

We certainly don't want any action taken there, he's been absolutely quality since arriving. Would be a big miss.

Sounds as disappointing as it looked on IFollow. Though in an attacking sense we hit the woodwork twice and had one cleared off the line, defensively shambolic.

Having viewed it again did think Davies was unfortunate with his second yellow, slipped while running and crashed into the Crewe player rather than anything deliberate. Not that it would have made any difference.

On the highlights it genuinely looks like Powell was telling the ref not to give him a second yellow as he could see it was a slip. Very harsh but risk you run on a yellow I guess.

If that’s the case then all credit to Powell. Referees will do what they want regardless

Yes was no mitigation either as he was looking at the player as he led with elbow into the face.
Thanks, can't find any video of it so will have to wait and see. Searching "Crowley elbow" on Twitter gets you David Tennant fan art, apparently

Think my head and liver has finally recovered and I can properly reflect on the game yesterday, we’ve played better than that this season and not won ironically but Clough decided to go almost man for man and we had the fitness and quality to make it work, helped by County inability to defend against one of the worst set-piece takers in the league so far.

I know getting absolutely spanked by a local rival on your home turf is difficult to accept, and you expect to see fans leave early but the massive fire drill exit from County fans once the going got tough was embarrassing. Barely made any noise all game too, I heard they finally managed to generate a bit of an atmosphere at Meadow Lane but it was really poor yesterday, even when drawing.

Probably because we didn't play, or more accurately weren't allowed to play well after the first 5 mins. That usually restrains atmospheres when you are being outplayed and creating nothing, especially against local rivals.

Plus those added Forest fans aren't going to hang around when the going gets tough they

As you know there were well over 12,000 home supporters that day in a huge crowd, so shouldn't be a huge surprise. This atmosphere at Meadow Lane has been non too shabby for a long time now thanks to NL opposition. Prior to the period of #stain is was pretty lacklustre.

Since Williams took over understandably it's gone up another notch or two due to the style of play and results. Yesterday there was very little to get excited about after Crowley's goal.

Ah yeah, I remember you! I actually met Sid at a match once. Bit of an interesting read here about him...

Haha yeah that didn't make sense, I meant while outside the area.
A LOT has changed since them days. Now married, moved country, moved house, got a now 11 year old! Funnily enough my mrs was on the board as well although didn't say much but both of us are friends with Sid on fb. We also mentioned that dickhhead from Shrewsbury Legend22 or something like that. A massive keyboard warrior and Sid met him, and gave us his number so we gave him a call to see what he sounded like haha. I vaguely remember Sid wearing a bra, absolutely brilliant!! He does need to tone the drink down, and needs to grow up haha.

I was surprised by how quiet the county fans were on tv. I don’t know whether they’re just generally silent at games or whether i couldn’t hear from them the racket our fans made.

Glad to have scored that many though which is good for confidence, they won’t come across many defence/gks as bad as that for the rest of the season.

Yeah that’s one of the frustrating things, conceding a free header from a floaty corner is pretty much a schoolboy error, even for a shortarse team like us. Also agree that our noise was poor yesterday, no idea why, maybe a combination of tension, how the game played out, early kick off, too many part timers. Who knows, hopefully better against Wrexham. We left at 4-1, no point in hanging around further, would have been the same anywhere.

Not seen or heard this anywhere else, but I’m not entirely sure McGoldrick is working out that well. For all his quality, the amount of times he loses possession trying something daft is unbelievable, makes us so exposed to the counterattack. Goes missing as well when the momentum of a game goes against us like it did yesterday( other than his yellow for the scything tackle). He doesn’t fit in to a Williams team like Ruben, who for all his creativity put the hard yards in defensively as well. Quite happy to be told I’m talking bollocks on that one though.

I think he's probably not been as good as you might expect out of someone who scored 25 in the league above last season, but it's a different role to the one he played at Derby and he's still on pace to score 20. I think when he's on it he looks really good, first half against Swindon for example. I was going mental at him at Salford for overplaying so I don't think you're wrong on that point, but I wouldn't say he was any worse than anyone else yesterday overall. I can see what you're saying but compared to the glaring issues behind them, the front 3 I'm very happy with overall.

Obviously you’ll know your side better than me, but do you regularly lose the ball so much in midfield from loose touches, it was a great help to our play in the 2nd half. you’ve obviously quality going forward.

Not at all with Palmer and Bostock in there , in fact quite the opposite as other clubs fans would have witnessed. Just a bad day at the office against a clearly very good team, that has been built over time and who's manager set them up perfectly tactically.

League 2 players playing a possession based game will sometimes take poor touches when pressed as well as you did yesterday. To be fair it’s become more a feature lately, especially in the second half of games.

and it does happen, happens to us - was the direct reason for the goal we conceded early at gillingham for instance.

In a way a result like that may well help you long run, a one off game isn’t going to define a season for either team, but if yesterday identified or confirmed weaknesses in the team it gives more clarity in thinking on what to do to address it.

Not to twist the knife in, but is Nige the answer? His power of positivity BS would really grate on me.

Plus, you really look like you're going to be in a relegation battle. No quality in so many spots, too open at the back, not enough firepower or creativity upfront. It's a bit grim.
Nobody knows what's happening re our managerial situation, Adkins is very much working on an interim basis and nobody knows if he'd even want the job full time, as Palios has said absolutely nothing since Dawes was shown the door five weeks ago. I don't even know what to make of his managerial skills as of yet - 433 was clearly suicidal yesterday and he made no attempts to change it, but you can only manage the players you've got and as per we're shaping up at the minute, our 2014/15 squad would play this lot off the park, and they finished bottom of the football league...

We're also due for an absolute hammering, as no team has managed to take a decent amount of the chances we gift the opposition every week. Stockport in two weeks is shaping up as a potential massacre.

Out of curiosity, how much are tickets behind the goals? Only as I assume the main stand are also paying £27 and I've never seen the stands behind the goals so full!

The Gresty Road End is full of youngsters, they'll be paying slightly discounted prices I'd imagine.

The other end backing on to the railway was full of school freebies. Hence why is was so busy. Usually it is pretty empty.

Never a bad idea to get school freebies in, especially as you say that end to the left of the away fans is empty - why not?

Brings in people who might not normally go and then you’ve maybe some food or drink etc - even if 1 or 2 get hooked it’s sound business, especially at our level.

Thought Saturday went the way a lot of us feared when we saw the team and pretty much confirmed the worries we have about depth. Losing Cameron and Jones took out our entire left side and we looked unbalanced for an hour, but were in the game and it was pretty even on actual chances at that point even though we couldn't get any kind of possession going. Then when Bostock got injured and went off for O'Brien we imploded and Stags were just pouring through our midfield at will every time we lost the ball.

Not a lot we can do about injured players obviously, but also a rare self-inflicted disaster from LW with the goalkeeping change. There's not a lot between them as goalkeepers, but Stone's distribution is miles better than Slocombe's, his kicking was borderline farcical for most of that match.

Thought Mansfield were excellent, pressed well and Clough did very well to have them ruthlessly target the areas where we had players missing even though he would only have found out an hour before kick-off.

Bostock was rammel, falling over for that first goal was pathetic too, even his team mates didn’t bother to claim.

Also neither of your keepers are good enough, been saying it since the summer. You’ll be out for a new #1 next season.

It was definitely, err, not his best afternoon. But he was at least vaguely stood in midfield most of the time, as opposed to whatever O'Brien is meant to be doing these days.

Jones was our biggest miss. Was four or five times we got Austin isolated one-on-one with Bowery and he never go past him once.

Bostock was rammel but that was just one game. He's been fantastic since March and in the playoff final, the best player on the pitch, and basically the reason we are in L2. That's far more important than any one game, even the Nottinghamshire El Classico.

Goalkeepers I totally, Slocombe was good enough for NL and probably bottom half L2 but always thought if we want to be in the mix we needed a noticeable upgrade.

Stone suits our style of play far far better due to how comfortable he is with ball at feet. Putting that aside he's certainly no better a goalkeeper.

Saying all that this is our first season back in L2 and we've done great so far as the results have shown.
