Nice little trip to Woking, what's the best place for beer?

Don't worry Woking fans we will not be winning this, we have not won three league games on the spin since 2010!! Yep that's how incredibly crap with have been for 6 years. Score draw.

Expecting a very tough game tomorrow; Sutton have started well and look like they have put together a decent team playing full of confidence. Intrigued to see how the pitch affects things (if at all), think Askey is more worried about injures than anything. Would happily take a draw at this point.

I'd like to think we'll pick up the points this weekend.

I'd like to think that too.... however, having been to both our away games (Macc and Sutton) I actually think we'll lose this one too.

Crikey RB, talk about being the prophet of doom!

All I've ever wanted as a supporter of Chester FC for 56 years is a club that grows organically. That means developing our own talent, which we do with the fantastic sponsorship of Swettenham's the Chemist. If Jon McCarthy thinks the likes of George, Chapell, Mahon, Hudson, Joyce and others are better than Hughes and Waters show me the results. I know a few people who haven't renewed their season tickets and requests to give the numbers aren't responded to on Deva Chat. I suspect they are well down on last season. We were told that the defence has been strengthened. We're 8 goals worse off than the same stage as last season (4 games). I think we're destined to be a yo-yo team like Altrincham, Southport, Halifax, Nuneaton, etc. I don't mind that if we can be sustainable and blood youngsters. Whenever we sign a gem like McConville, James, Hennighan, Hannah, etc we know we can't afford to retain them, or even offere the a contract to get a small fee. Finally the best team we've played this season were Maidstone (GK excepted) by a mile.

Don't know the exact number, but season tickets are over 1,000 as the Chron reported it a few weeks back. The usual is 1,100ish.

Chester will be ok, thats a tough 4 games you have had
That's nice thing to say, but apart from murdering Dagenham we've been playing like schoolboys. One of your fans said that Barrow were poor last week and they were but we gifted them 2 of their goals on Tuesday. Should have come away with at least a draw. The idea was that Sharps, a good Championship defender, good coach some good habits into them, but it hasn't happened yet. I see us back in CN with Neil Young at the helm next season.

Not that confident then, Chris?

Got to be.

We're an awesome total footballing team starting to click with a top class manager and we're about to play a side thumped 6-1 at Gateshead, with a manager who doesn't know this league, spearheaded by Richard Brodie.

BULLISHNESS RISING.

The only reason barrow were poor was they had little ambition , once we scored they could not alter their gameplan

How has Caton done?

He's generally looked lively and also quite happy to track back. I'm hoping he plays with a point to prove tomorrow, but after some of our recent performances a lot of them should have points to prove.

He'll be up against Beevers, so he'll have a chance. Wouldn't have done so against Wood, though.

From the bits and pieces I've seen of Maidstone they look a decent footballing team who can mix it up. Expecting another tough game tomorrow and am hoping the little bit of extra quality Tranmere have this season will be enough for another 3 points.
Take my hat off to the supporters of Maidstone for getting their club back to this level from what seemed total football oblivion when the original club folded. Hope they have a good day out tomorrow, but not enjoy the football too much.

A proper conference north fixture tomorrow as we face Guiseley. I would take nothing less than a win tomorrow, as our following six fixtures are significantly tougher.

You have nothing to worry about, they have already been officially relegated. They lost to North Ferriby.

Fill your boots.

Far too many stupid schoolboy defensive mistakes thus far. Cut those out and we'll do ok I think.

Opening game of the FA Cup campaign for all clubs at step 4, and a big chance for AFCR&D to put the horrors of an awful start to the league season behind. We play Northampton Sileby Rangers, a UCL (step 5) side, they've started the season well and will be up on confidence, but there is a big difference between step 4 and step 5 (partially due to a large quality gradient at step 5).

Hoping to secure a win and move on to the next round. The prize money will be especially important this year if we can do well, maybe it can help highlight our ground situation and help us fund something

I think we'll ship another 3 v Borehamwood. I'll take that because we're doomed while Macca and Sharps are in charge and the sooner they're gone the better. My annoyance stems from the fact that deadwood like George, Chapell, Mahon, and Hudson are playing when 19 year-old blonde beast Sam Hughes can't even get on bench. I'm also not convinced that Durrell and Horwood should be playing as they don't seem fit. Our gates are 15% off the break even, we're a cacophony of defensive errors and I can only see gates shrinking further. Only missed a dozen games in 6 seasons, but will pick and choose this season. Btw I've a season ticket, but don't get excited about going under these clowns who are a continuation of the shite we got under the fake Burr.

Would it not be fair to say that for all his talent Durell has never really looked 'fit' though?

Apparently we have a virus in the squad! Waterfall had it first and has passed it on to his team mates!

Looking forward to the trip tomorrow, had this one pencilled in as soon as the fixtures came out - the biggest affirmation of our return to respectability is this one.

I'll be happy as long as we don't get smashed.

Durrell doesn't look fit but he keeps buzzing around the pitch no matter what. He's not going to get any fitter, he is what he is. I think the majority have accepted that to be honest.

Well that's nonsense about us being poor the other night - had we not had two defensive errors of our own, we'd have won 3-0 (should have been 4/5). Obviously home and away fans ALWAYS see things differently, but our dominance for about 70 mins of the match was pretty obvious, and it was only our makeshift centre back pairing that struggled.

I remember this conversation back when you signed him, some of our fans were convinced that he just needed games to get 'fit' and wasn't given enough of a chance, but his body shape is what it is. Played all season I think he would score 10-15 goals.

Well, the Maidstone team are en route to PP... on the train. Surely it would be cheaper to hire a coach than to pay for 20 or so train tickets?

Dominance, really?

I thought you looked pretty average to be honest and looked poor value for the money spent. You had the better chances and took them, aided by a few gifts.

Probably not much more expensive to have come by coach last night and booked into a travellodge
