They weren't even that speculative, maybe 2/3 outside the box!

Great win for us today. And as much as it pains me to say it, Dino has sorted the defence out and got us scoring goals. 8 games unbeaten and Cole stockton came on for an appearance at the end.
It’s looking good.
And - joe Powell. What a player. Check out his goal today. Goal of the season contender. Take a bow son.

Looks like you and Oxford are running away with it. Didn't think you were amazing the other week but still had enough to pick up the points. Seems like that's been the case on a few occasions, which bodes well.
I dont know how we keep winning but we do...

Its a 90 min game and we seem to pinch it at the end.

Our defence is something else

Its results that count. All the teams that moan that they were the best team yet we win another game.
You and the Exeter fan giving it the big un how well u was doing and now look at the table.
I'm enjoying it but the run has to end sometime

If it was a one off then I’d take your view, but this is happening regularly. Play reasonably well for a half or even a full game, fail to score and end up getting beat.

It’s exactly why we’ll go down.
Not sure about you going down but you played some nice football but never took the few chances u had. You didnt look any worse or better thsan the other teams we've played. I reckon you'll stay up its only early doors ffs to be talking about promotion or relegation.

Absolutely all about the result. We've got very little for looking nice. Wish we could be more ruthless to be honest.

Pompey quite possibly the best side we've played. Can't complain about the result in all honesty - we failed to put the ball in the net yet again, so can't really expect anything from the game. One off the line, one off the post, a cracking save from their keeper just before the goal. Thought we matched them in the second half, and arguably edged it - they did batter us in the first half though. We're at that point where losing becomes a habit, and it's going to need something to happen to change that. Badly need one of our 'strikers' to start finding the net...

Didn’t go today unfortunately and only just found out the result at 8pm due to work and see that we’ve beaten Derby 1-0. Fuck knows what’s happened to us over the past couple of weeks but I’m not complaining.

Jason Sraha sounds like he had another unreal game, why on earth Barnsley released him I do not know as he looks like we could profit on him big time down the line.

Barnsley and Wigan away to come next, fully expecting to come back down with a bump. One thing is for certain like I’ve said from the start of the season, we certainly aren’t going down. Roll on our 10th consecutive season at League One level… WABLO.

I think thats a fairish assessment. U did play better in the 2nd half. Respect to your fans.

Whats happening with the takeover?

Can't argue with what has been said already. Rare off day for Bishop otherwise the game would have been won in the first half. We were dog shit in the second half and were bailed out. Harsh on the impressive Carlisle following but good teams always find a way to win.

Cambridge in freefall are up next followed by a trip to Reading who simply seem to be shit. Need another six points from these games just to cement our place at the top before a tricky run of fixtures afterwards.

The trend of Charlton looking like relegation candidates in the first half and league winners in the second continues.

Reading were far better in the first half but got annihilated in the second.

3 assists for Blackett Taylor, what a player

I forgot how cold Fleetwood is - jesus christ! It wasn't pretty today, but we scored early and did have other chances as game wore on. We were comfortable 1st half and played some tidy football. 2nd half we invited the Fleetwood pressure but defended well, and looked to punish on the counter, with Nsiala being sent off. Great effort, nice to see an away win
Listen mate, it was warm today, come back next month when it's blowing and then you'll feel the cold. Tbh I don't think either side deserved to win but you got the goal and 3 points so fair play.
It's going to be a long season for us, we lacked a cutting edge today and couldn't see where a goal was going to come from......

The prospective new owners were there again today, meeting with our fans in the Artillery. Suggestion is that the deal is all but done and will be announced in the next week or two. The sooner the better - we need to know what we're playing with in January (better still, we could do with funds to sign a free agent or two, if there are any that Simpson feels can come in and do a job straight away).

On that we agree.....We are 4th and we are easy to play against and predictable
The thing you have that a lot of other teams don't is someone who can consistently put a ball in the net. Even if not playing well you can still snatch a scabby win or two.

I have to agree about the division being poor this year. This is probably the worst League One I’ve seen since 2019/20 where Hull City won the league. There’s not one very good team this year but plenty of crap teams.

I don't think many teams have started better than us and Oxford in the last several seasons. So wouldn't u think that makes us a good side for L1?
Its still early days thou.

No doubt about it. But even when you're not fully at it, you've got someone who can stick it in the net. It's the sign of a promotion team when they are able to nick a game when not at their best. I don't think you played particularly well the other week and there wasn't a huge gulf between the teams, but you had Colby Bishop and we didn't...that's the difference maker. Oxford are a bit of an exception to the rule as their regular scorer is a left back.

Charles is certainly keeping us in contention...........We need a settled team, we got 3 back from injuries after the break but lost Dempsey for a month.
Forrester can feel a bit peeved at being dropped for Jones

I’m not being negative.

We’re only out of the relegation zone due to points deductions and having played more games.

On points per game we’re relegation standard.

Like you I have hope that with a takeover we can strengthen in January, and we do have a good manager. My only concern is we’re so useless in front of goal we may end up being too far adrift come jan for it to make a difference.

If this takeover happens, but we still get relegated then it will be a blow after just having been promoted but I don't think it will be a disaster because looking at the long term, sorting out the infrastructure of the club is more important than throwing too much cash about in January to desperately stay in L1.
Being in L2 again would be shit yes but at least we would have a whole summer to strengthen the squad under the new ownership and actually be a real promotion contender for once and we would hopefully go back up into L1 much stronger and with a vision of pushing on not just scrapping for our lives again.

So obviously I hope we survive this season and push on from where we are now, but if we do go down then it surely won't be as bad as previous times we've been in L2.
