Stockport County.
I said last season Mansfield were the best team we played and I've got a feeling I'll be saying similar They play some great football, two seasons on the spin they're really the only team I can think of that just look a bit better than us. The goals were inevitable second half. It was quite similar to the game last season there.

Louie Barry looks a great talent for us. Keilor Dunn for Mansfield too, excellent footballer.

Deserved win for Mansfield in my opinion.

It's been a great start for Notts, opening day notwithstanding.

It's noticeable that all the teams you've played are in the bottom half of the table (apart from Morecombe). At this stage that could just be because you've beaten them - but have you had a favourable start or is the gap not that big after all? (like we all said) Tbh we should have more points than we've got, but struggling to take our chances without Mullin - badly need some quality added without him and our other injured players.

We’ve got Accrington and MK next, so we’ll find out I guess. We’d have beaten Sutton without the red card I think but if anything it seemed to wake us up and get us going.

I was expecting us to have less possession at this level but it isn’t happening so far, and if you have that much of the ball you aren’t going to lose that often. We’ll have the odd Sutton-ing when something goes wrong, but we look good for top seven IMO.

Barrow were dogturd first half, we were shite in the 2nd. Have to be winning those. Seeing Wrexham fans calling it a good point but doubt they were there.

Decided against paying £27 and petrol for the Swindon game. Fank thuck for that.

Any team can lose a game but losing like that is unforgivable for a professional team.

Beat Crewe 1-0. Not a great display from us in all honesty but Crewe were hopeless in the final third. Think we'll get beat handily against a decent side like Mansfield next week.

A massive slap back to reality today. First half hour we were on top and didn’t take our chances as per usual but then again Swindon had a few of their own in that time. You’d say we deserved to be level going in at the break.
The wheels then well and truly fell off and that 2nd half is going to cause Lindsey sleepless nights.
The Swindon commentator jinxed us in the first half when he said ‘Crawley really don’t look like a side tipped for relegation’.

Exactly.

No point reading too much into the league table until about 2 months have passed. Accy will be a big test as they're another tall, physical well drilled side which we struggle against. MK a very talented side so will be a different test and away from home.

Looked decent enough in the first half hour today, a significant improvement from the Wimbledon game last week. But we fell apart in the last half hour, giving away 3 soft goals.

The opening day seems like an strange dream now.

Well, that was fun - 2nd half anyway. We gave up 2-3 good chances to Crawley in the 1st half - don’t know why we are so flaky for 30 minutes in a game. Better start saving to buy Young and Kemp!

Should have got something out of today’s game, certainly the better team especially in the second half but yet again two defensive errors let us down

Troy Deeney found his level now?

And it wasn’t a penalty either .

At least with the Young situation we have a better negotiating position than we had for Doyle come January. You'd think we could command quite a substantial fee if he keeps this up.

Although if Sparks is negotiating we'll probably allow him to leave on a free transfer.

The first half was a bit of a shitshow defensively, Stockport admittedly tidy and organised in that first half and the lead was probably just about deserved.

Second half was a complete turnaround, we just went at them and they had zero answer to it, our equaliser was actually fortunate but we missed as usual a bunch of great chances, we need 4/5 to actually score one.

It’s only the lack of clinical edge in front of goal and injuries that will stop us this season, continuing to play Bowery and to a lesser extent Akins in defence will come to bite us.

Barry stood out for Stockport, very dangerous out wide. Reed/Akins had a bit of a mare, DKD missed two sitters but still bagged two.

What's Young's contract situation?

Made it much harder than it needed to be going down to 10 cos of injury and clinging on for a completely ridiculous amount of stoppage time.

Overall feels like we’ve figured out this level, though. By which I mean everyone just plays against us like they did in the National League, scared to try and make a game of it. That should’ve been a proper clubbing, but we’ll take the win.

Way to early to be saying stuff like that considering who you’ve played.

If we improve on our conversion rate we’d be scoring for fun.

And that’s even when we’ve scored 11 in 5

Heard we’ve got a buy option for both him and Kemp.

Williams obviously got bored with battering Tranny today so he subbed off half the team to make a game of it.

There’s a definite step up from NL, but the likes of Jones and Bostock are preforming 2 leagues above what they managed last season. If McGoldrick starts firing properly we’ll be a difficult prospect for anyone.

Very true but the earlier suggestion from your Spanish amigo of an impending relegation battle looks more than a little off.

I don't think we've played any quality L2 side yet but what gives me confidence we will be fine this season is our starting lineup oh and our head coach. He seems to just work things out which is handy.

Seriously how good is Bostock? Man of the Match by a distance at Wembley and started the season on fire and oozing class

Weirdly, that was as calm and controlled as we've looked in a game so far this season, yet we were hopeless in front of goal. Barely tested Lewis, just looks clueless whenever we got near the penalty area. Need to do way better, which won't be easy with an inform Port Vale on Tuesday and then top of the table MK Dons to come next week.
