At a wedding so am missing this one but at least I won't have to watch us give Stockport a guard of honour.

I'm on a Stag do in Prague so won't be able to see the guard of honour for the Champions either but I'm sure our fans and club will be on hand to take plenty of evidence and pictures.

Delighted there is nothing riding on it. Think the motivation will be stronger with Wrexham tbh, the guard of honour, welcoming the champions and wanting to avenge the 5-0. Plus they're very good at home. Can't look past a home win but can't see me caring too much.

Final day definitley looks more like the excitement lies in how the Play Off positions will end up.

Hope we can beat Newport and sneak into 7th. Unfortunately, I think Crawley will beat Grimsby.

It should never have come to this. Should have had our position wrapped up weeks ago. But then who doesn't love a bit of final day drama eh?

We need a point and personally, I think we get it. Then we'll just have to wait and see where the chips fall with the other teams and who we end up playing in the POs.

Here are the permutations for each of the teams from 5th-10th:

Doncaster
Win/Draw and they are in
Lose and as long as one of the 3 teams below them drop points, they are in

Crewe

Win/Draw and they are in
Lose and as long as one of Barrow and Crawley drop points, they are in

Barrow
If they win, they are in
If they draw, they would(deep breath) have to hope Crawley don't win, or don't win by 2 goals or more AND Bradford don't stick 7 past Newport
If they lose, they need Crawley, Bradford and Walsall not to win.

Crawley
If they win and Barrow draw/lose, they are in
If they draw and Barrow by 2 goals or more AND Bradford and Walsall don't win, they are in.
Lose and their season is done

Bradford
They must win and hope that Barrow lose and Crawley lose/draw. They could make it with a Barrow draw, but they would need a 7 goal swing in their favour)

Walsall
They must win by several goals and hope that Barrow lose by several goals, plus hope that Crawley and Bradford also fail to win(should Crawley draw, Walsall would need a 4 goal win). If any of those 3 teams win, then it's game over for the Saddlers.

I think that's correct. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

I'd be amazed if Colchester v Crewe wasn't a draw.

Still no idea how we have a shout in this. We've been dreadful all year.

But other than that, Up the Stags and Mariners.

I always suspected they’d be something somehow riding on this game between us and barrow, maybe not quite like this though.

There was understandably a party atmosphere against gillingham where we scored 2 crackers to win, and i’m sure the fans will be the same this time round.

Barrow got graham coughlan sacked in a dismal 4-2 home defeat 3 and a half years ago which led to clough signing who promised he’d get us up - turn full circle and here he is doing it at barrow.

Appreciate others at stake but i wouldn’t begrudge barrow the point they need.

I'm just happy that we have something riding on the last match of the season. Still such a long shot, I don't have any of that hope that can kill you. Didn't actually know who we were playing on Saturday until we went ahead last night.
Just hope we can win on Saturday, and then let the chips fall where they may. About a 16% shot of making the playoffs according to the bookies, so just going to relax and look forward to the match.

If Crawley beat Grimsby, Barrow need to beat you, point no good.

Need to score 7 more goals than Stockport and make sure Forest Green stay within 6 to win the real quiz. Unlikely, but I'm sure everyone agrees we deserve this particular record.

Ah, yeah i wouldn’t recommend attacking us.

on a side note apparently the highest number of away goals scored in a league 2 season is 47. You’re already on 47 and us 46 with us both away this weekend….

How I see it to, 8/5 for Wrexham to win is generous....I wish our game was a different KO time so that I could follow the play-off race independently.

Fully expect the guard of honour to be respected by the players, but not the fans.....As it should be, I won't boo it, will just sit in my seat then get behind Wrexham.

Glad the trophy has already been awarded though, that would have really stung, and probably cause a bit of bother with some of our idiot fans. In fact, I half expect there to be some trouble anyway as I wouldn't be surprised if we are on the pitch again.

I assume no fans would boo a team that’s being offered a guard of honour for winning the league at all in the first place.

Would be a highly classless act if someone did.

I don’t understand why the fans would not clap the champions? I genuinely think the majority of stags fans would if they visited Field Mill Saturday.

There is bitterness there.

We pipped them to them to the NL title 2 years ago, consigning them to the Play Offs (where Grimsby beat them in a classic Play Off Semi Final).

Our "firm" EVF flew a plane banner over the Racecourse that day reminding them who the Champions were.

They had beat us at the Racecourse the week before the last day of the season and from stories at our end Wrexham weren't the most magnanimous in victory. Which was silly because we had a game in hand meaning if we won the last two we'd still win the league ( we won both). The way they celebrated I think they thought they'd had it in their hands.

So then when we meet again this season 2 seasons later, we beat them 5-0 in September at EP and we beat them to the league again (although obviously Wrexham promoted too this time)

Them having to get the red carpet out is a bit of a bitter pill again for them. But in my opinion I would find it more funny if they refused to do it or their fans booed

Personally i find it a shame you’ve not lifted the title at the racecourse, would make for good tv

I think the trophy is ours to do what we want with it until the official handover which I imagine is some point in the summer, so there isn't much stopping us bringing it off the coach, into the dressing room and showing it off again to our supporters (who will be hemmed in by the Heddlu long after the FT whistle) again at FT.

But the official medal ceremony and trophy lift was done at home to Accrington last Saturday.

We'd never refuse to do it, Parky wouldn't allow it if nothing else.

I'd be surprised if it's not booed, I agree it's a bit classless and I won't do it.

Genuine question, if the situation was exactly the opposite, do you think it would be well received at Edgeley Park?

For the Mansfield fans, I don't necessarily think you or others would be booed, there is an ingrained Stockport bitterness in my opinion (A bit of a Notts County one to, which is even more strange).

Oh they'll be booed, no doubt about that like. If it was any other team other than Tranmere or Newport then there would be nothing I suspect. We would be booed on at the above as well, it's not the end of the world.

All of the above previous posts are reasons, plus Challinor was acting like a helmet for weeks on end after they won the NL title.

No I think some would boo and I would be like you and just do nothing.

I'm just glad it's ended up that in reality it's all just pantomime stuff. I'd be bricking it if we needed a result for promotion and I'm sure the same for you.

100%.....Was so nice going to Crewe and not being desperate to get something, would have been a tough one to need something out of Stockport, and brutal if you stopped us being promoted at home.

(Would have been equally as sweet to be able to stop you).

How is it strange? What can't you understand about it? The very recent rivalry due to a fantastic title battle between the two in the National League is certainly a two way street on social media.

To me that's like any Notts fans who claims it strange that a small section of Wrexham get all defensive and butt hurt when anything is brought up about overpaying for players, players wages, squad budgets etc from clubs fans who are ultimately a little jealous.

Neither are strange, quite the opposite to be expected.

Depends on how many goals Crawley win by. If they only win by 1 goal, Barrow will still have better GD and as such will finish ahead of them with a draw.

Crawley are only one point behind them.

Barrow were understandably probably going for the win last night and left themselves open for the late Bradford winner, pragmatically if they'd held on for the point your above scenario would be true.

I didn't say I can't understand why it exists....Just that I find it a little strange personally (Maybe I should have worded it that way) that it's been retained.

It's a bit different with Stockport, the mutual dislike goes a bit further back....But each to their own.
