Just had a proper look at the stats from yesterday, Exeter had 64% of the ball and only one shot. Sounds like a decent defensive performance but also 12 shots with 8 on target shows we managed to be more ambitious than at Vale.

Reading at home Tuesday another good test
And the one shot was dreadful. Honestly, we could be playing till next April and not score. Northampton bossed it in both boxes which is what counts.

Pompey refusing to lose again. Decent September considering the fixtures. Peterborough, and Lincoln home, Derby, Barnsley and Wigan all away. 13 points is a fantastic month. Just a shame we couldn't turn our dominance away at Derby to make it 15

What I will add which I forgot was superb class from Bolton fans for our Harry Poole who died this week, 3rd all time appearance holder and ST holder for 50 years after and their fans actually started the applause.

Class that.

Interestingly Bolton actually considered him as a replacement for Nat Lofthouse.

It's just come to my attention that so desperate are Shrewsbury to be the new Cheltenham Town, they've now gone a whole month without scoring as well.
Irrelevant really as according to Matt Taylor, we’re close to not only scoring, but we’re close to blowing teams away 3/4/5-0 soon as we’re taking 15-25 shots every game nowadays.

Admittedly I’m dumbfounded how we haven’t scored atleast a few this month let alone one with the chances we’ve had, but he’s taking the piss a bit in his pre match interviews now. All bark no bite so far from Taylor. Any half decent manager would have our team top 8 with how weak the league is this year.

I still won't believe anything's changed until we can nick a point off Charlton.

If you don’t beat us this season, you never will.

I was just about to mention this..
Vale and Bolton have never got on, there’s always been trouble, but, there were plenty in town, and I didn’t see any mither, bit of banter maybe, but no actual fighting.
And they started the clapping for Harry , and they all were, it was a poignant moment.
They made plenty of noise aswell, vale were pretty quiet yesterday I thought, woke up the last 15 minutes but we could’ve got behind them a bit more…
What’s with the Massey bashing in the stands, poor that, I thought he did well.
A good game, as entertaining as league 1 football can be.
Bolton looked as good first half as any team I’ve seen in this division since we returned.

Fucking Barton lambasting individuals in public again. Ironically Luke Thomas (again), one of the more consistent performers this season

What a horrible person Barton is. That is no way to motivate the individual or team. Fair enough to keep it private and work on it in house, but to throw him under the bus is ridiculous. Wonder how the player is feeling today after that. I'm sure he was feeling shit enough as it was.

Yeah no trouble at all yesterday although the new away end means I barely saw any outside.

Even Ian Evatt came across very well in AB7 YouTube interview praising how far we’d improved.

Orient were the dominant team in the 1st half.Fleetwood just couldn't keep possession. Whatever was said at half time worked and we were a different team in the 2nd playing some really good attacking football. Visitors made us work hard towards the end and they contributed to a very entertaining game. Credit to the ref for a good game, 4 seconds added to the 1st half which was how well he kept everything going
2 red cards right at the death 1 for each side but a deserved 1st victory of the season for the Cods
Based on the second half you deserved the win.

We did in the first 30mins what we usually do, dominate our opponents in terms of possession but don't land the killer punch and take the lead in games. We had 3 chances in the first 8 mins alone and with all of them I felt we should've done alot better.

We let a side low on confidence back into the game, second half you had the best chances and took one on the break which gave you something to hold onto. I don't think Lynch had any difficult saves to make second half.

Jordan Graham should've had a pen, I was right in front of it and he got clipped but because of the first one seconds earlier the ref bottled it I thought. Galbraiths second yellow I can see why he gave it, he doesn't need to go down there FFS, get the ball and fire the shot off.

Two tricky away games but we’ve been better on the road in fairness.

Bristol Rovers up first who we always seem to play on a Tuesday night; maybe not the time to point out we haven’t won in the league on a Tuesday night since Salford in April 2022!

Need a result here with Pompey up after (all be it that is the typical one for Vale to win) and Rovers seem a bit hit and miss.

A point would be ok but we need to put in a decent performance to get anything.

Disgraceful from a terrible goalkeeper.

Port Vale - Calamity cost us a penalty and defeat.
Shrewsbury - a rare faultless game.
Stevenage - Calamity, should have cost a goal but wrongly ruled offside.
Lincoln - conceded a goal and looked slow motion in getting down, cost us a win.
Derby - conceded a gormless penalty which sealed the win for them.
Wycombe - you know what happened. Cost us any chance of getting anything from the game by being such a thick gormless c***.

So that’s 6 games, 5 gamed where he’s committed howlers. Probably the worst goalkeeper I’ve had the misfortune of seeing play for our club. And I’ve seen some bad ones.

I don't know why the fuck Holy was even dropped for him, it's not like he was doing terrible. Probably because dickhead clueless fans moan about little things too much.

But after 10 games it's obvious our team isn't good enough for this level as we have been so shit up front especially and we desperately need an overhaul in January or we're playing against the likes of Harrogate Town and Wrexham next season.

He should be sacked for that in my opinion. Worst possible management technique in any industry. You should never publicly lay blame on a player. If I were Thomas I'd get released from my contract and if I were the chairman of Bristol Rovers I'd be fuming. They need to cut their losses with Barton....they're currently underperforming with one of their best squads in years.

What’s annoying is that he did this with Thomas in L2 and it actually worked. He admitted his mistakes, came back better and then signed for us this season claiming Barton gets the best out of him.

This time feels different though. He won’t get sacked for it, but I’d be very curious to be a fly on the wall if he really did ask the CEO not to pay him.

For me it suggests he’s under pressure though, as mentioned above we blow hot and cold, and are hugely inconsistent for what is a very good squad at this level

As good as they were first half, I thought Bolton were dreadful second half and we deserved a point. It just goes to show that even with the supposed better teams, if you put them under pressure, are not that good. We got it massively wrong first half.

Good following but made zero noise. Why do decent players like Dion Charles have to be such weapons;? Thought Bolton dedended quite well but disappointed to come away with nothing.

As i no longer attend away games i let it go Saturday without commenting listen to a few that attended and see what others wrote. You put us under pressure second half and err never scored...Dreadful, no it is game management. We had half our first 11 out so you basically played our second string the last 30. In posts by your own supporters they say Boltons following added to the atmosphere, especially at the one min applause....Last but not least Charles celebrated in front of the vale fans nothing more.

I honestly think a bit of confidence will make a massive difference.

We've played well in a couple of games, yet have still lost them to nil (obviously) so the players think everything is against them. This is the majority of the squad that kept us out of the relegation zone for all but the first month of last season. Yes, losing May has been horrific, but it wasn't May that kept 16 clean sheets (a record for us in the EFL).

Honestly, it just needs the ball to go in off someone's backside. Get that monkey off their backs, and they'll start to play with a bit more freedom.

That being said, I'm an eternal optimist and am one of a very tiny minority of Cheltenham fans who hasn't given up on this season yet.

Think LeedsV was on about his diving... Which luckily the referee saw through.

James Gibbons is still your (only) top scorer this season. Probably could sign him in Jan!

Very much needed win for us after some sketchy league form, throwing away three points at Reading when we should have really have been out of sight by HT & completely throwing away any chance of a win against Peterborough due to a silly needless earlyish red card by our stand in captain. Controlled the tempo of the first half, brilliant finish from Dion to get ahead & managed to soak up the second half pressure defending the balls into the box. Four B teamers on the bench, nobody to come on second half to freshen the midfield up so wasn't the most confident that we'd see it out. Nlundulu actually looked like a handful for once too which was good to see.

Probably a bit of a reactionary post from me immediately after the game.

Having thought about it Bolton were excellent in that first half. Concise, crisp passing finding men in space. We just sat and watched and with a bit more bite, Bolton could have been 2 or 3 up.

Second half was much better from us and just shows that if we'd have done that in the first half we'd probably have got a result. Having said that, we didn't really test the keeper enough.

Perhaps I was harsh on the Bolton fans. You can't really hear them from the other end of the ground but the minutes applause was excellently observed.

Dion Charles is a decent player but he was a bit of a knob on Saturday. Threw himself to the ground on a few occasions (the ref eventually ignored him) and looks like one of those mouthy cocky little fuckers who thinks he's made it playing at division 3 level.

Still think the ref (for both sides) and the linesmen were appalling. Bolton were offside at least 3 times first half and the ref was so inconsistent.

first chance commenting but tgought bolton were very good first half, should really have been at least two up. we were the better team second half but given their better quality chances the result was about fair. with a bit of luck we could have had a point. especially seen as it was a slip that let bolton in for their goal. think we can be pleased to have competed over 90 and move on to some tough away games.

A very different performance from us against Cambridge, a ton of the ball and actual passes to feet but not enough quality in the final third.

we’ve played a back four in four games and got four clean sheets. Nyambe looks to be a good addition.

the game did nothing for Warne’s popularity, unsurprisingly. A lot of people just don’t like him and see him as a bad fit for the club, but it’s a not like he has a lot of people in his corner either - it all seems very inevitable at this point. There was a poll on our forum where 80% of people disliked his brand of football. The atmosphere around the club is as bad as I can remember it, he’s driving fans away and that’s something that will be hard to overcome - commercially we have to be so smart.

Best of luck to you for the rest of the season but looked incredibly poor on Saturday.
As you say your confidence is very low currently.
Clarke definitely have to work his magic
