Daggers don't look like a side going for promotion. A low crowd there today as well.

Yep we certainly don't look any good at home at the moment but away were unbeaten in 5 and have won four and drawn 1.

The crowd was to be expected West Ham 5 miles down the road were at home and now that they are giving away free tickets each match to 5-6000 people it's only going to get worse for us. They have a ballot for every home game to Newham residents and whoever is picked at random wins the tickets. Week before Xmas and hardly a glamour match did not help.

Really disappointed actually, would have snapped a hand off for a draw before, but on balance of play, thought, on top of playing really well, we deserved to go one up, and I genuinely feel only CK's insistence in bringing on a midfield player for a forward with five six minutes to go (normally his son) cost us the three points.
Momentum which in the main during the second half I thought we had then disappeared, we sat deeper and as so often has happened this year we shipped a late winner, when will he learn?
Even worse when we then found out both Barrow and D&R had salvaged points, made the very long journey back even longer. But plenty of pisitives and "if" we can get six points over Xmas who knows we could easily move back into the play offs, and hopefully stay there.
As suggested yesterday, FGR were always likely to double up on Miller and for our goal did leave Moses plenty of space for the goal, but the treatment the FGR rovers defenders dished out to Miller and Lafayette reeked a bit of desperation and with another referee a couple of the challenges could have easily seen a red produced, especially what looked suspiciously like an elbow to the latter.
But it's a mans game I suppose, so not going tom dwell on it. thoroughly entertaining game, though in the circumstances a very poor crowd, happy with the point, but can't help what wondering what could have been yesterday.
As for the signing of Healey, again I have to ask question, why fucking bother, if he can't even get on before Kinnear Jnr, and with Moore to come back, I doubt if he will ever feature for us.

A very poor crowd? About 1000 more then you got at home to us wasn't it?

Lincoln have a lot to answer for, the twats. That lucky comeback at our place has derailed our title romp to the point where we aren't even playing awesome total football anymore, let alone actually winning.

Also it would be nice if at some point soon I'm actually able to see a whole game again without all this fucking fog. Tough to be bullish when you can't see what the fuck is going on half the time, and what you can see is shite.

Btw Chris Kinnear Snr bringing on Jnr towards the end meant we had the rare situation of both teams having their managers son on the pitch at the same time, can't remember seeing that happen too often.

What a load of bollocks.

How is it? After 15 minutes we had given you a penalty (which was stonewall but a stupid tackle by Evans) and had half our defence booked. The first goal was a comedy of errors from our side and the 2nd goal our defence seemed to be attempting the manneqin challenge.

Even in the last 15 minutes when you gave us a couple of chances we still somehow managed to miss - Reynolds from 6 yards after Mensah hit the bar summed our performance up.

One final point from Saturday's game - there was a highly impressive reffing out attempt by the National League.

They deployed none other than Samuel Allison to officiate Woking v Guiseley just under TWO MONTHS since he shot into reffing out folklaw, following the ultimate reffing out of Gozie Ugwu's legitimate goal for offside, when in fact a Braintree player misplaced a pass to him.

Credit where it's due, the National League certainly does despise the 'unpopular' part-timers.

Good to get a point yesterday after being 2-4 and 0-3 down, but that's a game we really should be winning. Injuries are still playing a part (we don't have a like-for-like replacement for Robinson it seems), plus at centre-half its Doe who has looked shaky by the sounds and one other who more often than not has not been up to the task. That said, you expect a team to be able to stick to some sort of formation, not the 5-0-5 we were seemingly playing according to Lee yesterday - unusual because a decent shape is what you expect of a Still team. That said, we only have one more naturally defensive midfielder in the side in Boucaud and even then, he's not someone you'd have in that Kante type role really.

That said, credit to Solihull. Certainly whenever I've looked at their results they've been a breath of fresh air with the results and scorelines they seem to come up with, enjoyed seeing them in the league this season and I hope they stay up.

We have to be looking at 6/6 from Braintree over Christmas now.

Pissed off.

Tbf not a disaster, at least we kept going to the end plus Kieffer Moore's back. We gained a point on Tranmere and other then Lincoln, didn't lose ground on anyone else.

I saw it differently. I was annoyed that at 2-0 we let you off the hook and just sat deep. When we beat you 8-2 earlier this year (last season) James Alabi was subbed with 20 minutes to go so he could get an ovation. I'd have left him on til the end and made it 11-2.

We managed to get a point at Forest Green without a recognised midfielder in the team. 6 defenders and 4 attackers lol

Rhead doesn't dive. He's good a getting his body in to draw fouls and yes, sometimes goes down easily, but Mangan (or Norwood) just plain dived this afternoon. Now that's cheating.
With all due respect, I saw McNulty's shirt stretched to twice its (already large) size by Rhead on more than one occasion, as well has him having his arms wrapped around our players' shoulders multiple times. He doesn't just play the game, he cheats, and ignoring that is just simple hypocrisy.

All players hold each other when challenging for the ball, from open play when the ball goes forward and worst of all at set pieces its crazy!
John Terry started years ago as he lacked the pace to stay with quick attacking players now everyone does it.
The rules were supposed to have changed to stop it but only Mike Dean enforces it.
Rhead pushes it to the limit I know that, Mangan chanced his arm yesterday and got a penalty but word will get round the refs he does that and might not be so lucky another time.
Not too fussed really as we've taken 6 points off one our biggest rivals this season so I'm happy.

That's just part of the game, not cheating. If you're saying shirt pulling is cheating, then everybody is, in every game in which case you'd be hypocritical for singling out Rhead. Shirt pulling is just part of the game that we all know should be clamped down on more but never happens because both teams do it (admittedly with differing levels). I could show you multiple pictures of Rhead's shirt nearly above his head over the course of the last 18 months he's been with us.

Diving is far, far worse. That's deliberately trying to con the ref. I'm not sure why you're skirting around the Mangan dive.

Mangan clearly dived at the weekend and you've not acknowledge that, that I've seen (apologies if I've missed that post).

It's double standards reading the Tranmere views. They should have had at least one or two yellow cards before our first real iffy challenge (when we of course picked up a yellow). Rhead gets assaulted every game yet fans only see the negative side, you can't have it both ways! As for the blatant dive, that goes far and beyond any sort of gamesmanship, cheating like that should be acted upon retrospectively and Mangan should be punished, Norwood is just as bad too when he played for FGR. Maybe that's how TRFC expect to win the league?

I've never denied Mangan dived. I'm not the one on the defensive here. Are you saying that Rhead repeatedly rolling around on the floor like he's been shot, before magically recovering seconds later, isn't 'deliberately trying to con the ref'? Of course it is, he was trying to get our players booked through simulation. It's the same thing.

I wasn't at the game on Saturday so I can't comment on what you're describing but having watched him for 18 months, the only thing I would say about him, as I've said in my previous posts, is that he goes down easily at times, but with contact. So in that respect, you do wonder why he stays on his feet at times after being forearm smashed across the back of his head.

Now Boreham 0-1 Braintree. Cheek.

David Stepehens sent off too. I had forgotten about him. He can do a lot better than B.Wood

2-0 Braintree now. Looks like they are going to leapfrog Southport and move out of the bottom four.

Had us written off earlier when Hakan became manager, but hopefully I was wrong as we are picking up good points away from home.
However our home record ATM is pants. If we can begin to improve at home then maybe we can still pull off a great escape.

Did well to win 1-0 when they went 2-0 up at one point.

13 points out of 15 in our last 5 away games. As I said earlier if we can get similar results at home we can still be here next season. That would be 7 seasons at this level. Not bad for a "pub team from Essex"!
