Wilder will fuck it up.
Not disagreeing with you - just not quite sure why this translates into Northampton fans constantly asking for opinions on Wilder based on five years, then criticising our statements on how things were after five years.

NTFC fans have not constantly asked for opinions on Wilder, Eric "mogadom" Read keeps bringing him up.
A football manager knows it is inevitable that one day he will get the sack. One day Wilder will be shown the door and even if it`s in 5 years time Eric will be there saying "I told you so" :bang: zzzzzzzzz

I'd just like to point out Wilder has never had the sack... (not that makes him a world class manager oxford fans, just stating facts)

Did Carey come on against us the other week? Whoever it was you looked a much better side when they came on!

No wasn't Carey he's been out for almost 2 months last played against Dagenham and had to come off.if I remember rightly Wylde and tanner came on against you.

Ah cheers, either way, you looked much better with those in your side!

The Wilder thing is boring really, yeah it went sour at Oxford for him and sounds like he lost the fans etc. I guess sometimes it works for managers at certain clubs, look at Gary Johnson - our worst manager of recent times, however, he's doing great at Cheltenham! Swings and roundabouts, Wilder will have a bad spell at some point and we aren't naive enough to think everything is going to be rosy forever under him. I guess it is the same with every club and their ex manager, we always have a few fans still hammering Gary Johnson or Aidy Boothroyd.

As for the promotion side of things....Oxford are a v good side, fingers in many pies though so hopefully that affects them a little bit. Plymouth aren't as impressive (football visual wise) but it works for them as the table shows and they have something about them. There is usually a team that comes from nowhere, I'd say Bristol Rovers on current form...just hope it isn't us that drops out.

I've seen some people say it is a much poorer league this season, something which gets bandied about every season, I actually think the opposite, I think it's a really strong league. I've been genuinely impressed by the quality shown from Oxford, Portsmouth, Accrington, Plymouth, Orient and a few others.

Yeah I think a lot were suprised when they didn't start seems we tried to match your teams power instead of having their pace on.

Two standout games this weekend as Rovers travel to Stanley and Wycombe head to Plymouth. A Stanley win could see it getting very congested around the top of the league.

I'm predicting a P-P, if not our bogey team Stanley will put us to the sword.

Dropped to 13th now :shut:

I know we've got the games in hand, but we're slipping away as things stand. Need to be beating Accrington next weekend.

Sure every team that beat Argyle kick them off the park, waste time and are generally a disgrace to football. Just fuck off you salads.

I'd normally say it's sour grapes, but it's Wycombe, and they're probably right!

If we can sort out home form out then we have a chance as our away form is decent, top half finish will do though.

Probably. But fuck it, we had our 46-yr old goalie coach in the nets for 3 quarters of the game as we just sold our #1 keeper and #2 got crocked early doors - so I'd say it was a result.

Well yesterday went well for us without even playing a game. Plymouth to still make top 3 or to just miss out this season?

Morecambe just equalised in the last minute against Pompey...and it was their keeper who scored it!

Portsmouth must hate playing up north, always seem to concede deep into stoppage time.

Conceeded at home to Stevenage in injury time aswell. Our inability to close games out and stay focused for injury times is the difference between Top 3 and Playoffs.

We're now 13 points clear of Pompey having played the same amount of games, and if Accy win both their games in hand we will still be 11 clear of whoever is in 4th. Rovers have played 29 so most have games in hand over them.

What a position to be in.

Still the best side I've seen this season (granted I haven't seen Northampton, Oxford, Bristol R or Accrington yet). I, like many others, thought you'd go on and get into the autos, but that looks a struggle now.

In perspective closing a six point gap to Oxford is still doable but we're really not making it easy for ourselves!

Two huge home games coming up now against Leyton Orient and Bristol Rovers. Have to win them both.

If Pompey fail to get promoted is it likely that Paul Cook will be given the sack?

I don't think he'll be sacked. It would be stupid to sack him when he could be backed further and we'd be so much stronger next season, in theory anyway.

I don't doubt for a second that we are the best footballing team in the division. However playing good football is not enough on its own to get promoted and we're missing that ugly side of the formula. Grinding out results, timewasting and signing 6ft 5 ugly bald northerners who can't run with the ball or play tiki taka but can imtimidate refs and win headers allday long.

Or the fact you can't concentrate for the full 90, and lack the creativity to get past crap teams at home

Two different things in my opinion, holding on to a lead and winning when not playing well.

Accrington play comfortably the most pleasing football in the division that I've seen. Until they go 1-up and start Wycombeing it.
