No mate my health isn't good right now and god only knows when i'll get to a game again, knowing my luck when i do manage to go we'll get stuffed 5-0
Sorry to hear that, though more likely for your return is that you score in the third minute and time waste for the remaining 87.

I have lots of "Carvered In," "Carvernous Holes" and various other "Carver-based" puns lined up but the mysteriouscurle personna has offered some sound judgement and relevant insight to the mess that is CUFC in recent weeks since his make-over.

I think he deserves encouragement and praise for his efforts - not these feeble attempts to draw out the old demons.

Still a lot of games to go. Still very much all to play for, for the top 6 in the hunt for those 3 spots.

Win our game in hand and we're back to 2 points behind again, with a half decent run in.

Probably need 4 points from your next 2 games which would set you up nicely.

Very much so. 7 points from 3 games would've been my target anyway, but 2 wins and we're back on track.

I assume that Donnie are now a deffo for top three. Which means the remaining two automatics are between us, pompey the great, Stevenage and Luton.

With the cushion we are in control of our fate, whereas the other three needs other results to go their way.

One must assume that Stevenage's run, like Barnet's, Colchester's, Exeter's and Mansfield's will end, if it does not they deserve to go up. At present I have a sneaky suspicion that Luton might do it, but what may be key are the six pointers. We have Donnie and Pompey, who from the top five/six have you got?

Whilst we were absolutely shit, Portsmouth did look very, very good today to be fair. Hard to see them blowing it from here if they're playing like that.

Just end the season now and put us out of our misery. I go to the games but really can't be arsed engaging with the sport on any other level any more.

The frustrating thing is the warnings signs were there for all to see in late December/January. Our form was dipping and there were signs in our performances that a big collapse was on the horizon.

Something should have been done in January. Yes we brought in Liddle but more than him was needed. Proctor was just a replacement for Wyke. Other than those 2 we did nothing and that's why we haven't kicked on.

Could see this coming a mile off.

CARLISLE UNITED ARE STILL IN THE HUNT FOR PROMOTION!

There are still twenty L2 clubs who are inferior to us, so we're not giving up hope just yet, greg does not know the meaning of the word!

Yes and could you imagine in this day and age if a team ever got beat off Hartlepool at home 3-0?

That would be a tragedy mate! They would have to be the shitest and grimiest team this league has ever known.

Tempted to lump another £50 on the opppsition to beat us on Tuesday. Did it v Plymouth, didn't do it v Cambridge as I thought it would be closer.

Luton will definitely beat us Tuesday, in fact I might stick a ton on it. Obviously if I do then I'd love to lose the lot, but just not going to happen with our current form and injuries.

£50? I'll laugh if they fail to beat us, sorry mate but nothing ever goes your way in this game.

If they fail to beat us then that would be going my way. I'd rather have the points than the cash... but my money is safe. They'll win.

Can't argue with that mate  I bloody hate Ainsworth's tactics with a passion but he's too pigheaded to change his ways.

Win our game in hand and we're back to 2 points behind again, with a half decent run in.

Thing is that involves a) winning a couple of games on the spin and b) winning a game with a bit of pressure attached to it. The fact is we have not done either this season.

We have had this conversation so often over the course of the season it really is a bit silly now "if we do X we are only X points away" and every single time we get ourselves close and mess it up. You can't squander this many opportunities and expect to go up.

The team clearly have a mentality problem in big games and an almost equally bad mentality problem after winning a game too.

Going to be perhaps a little controversial here but I personally think that stems from Jones. Whenever we go into games like yesterday he makes a baffling tactical decision and gets it all wrong in the 90 minutes too. We've all been questioning the bottle of the players, including Jones, but he needs to level that question just as much at himself, he clearly cannot get the players up for these games.

We all say and think he is learning, but is he? The facts aren't backing that position up, from early on continuously playing someone like Gilliead out of position (something he is now doing with Gambin arguably), to moving Pelly out of, what is by his own admission, his best position, playing Sheehan at centre half when we clearly have better options there and he is better at full back, playing Cook anywhere really, playing Rea at the base of the diamond when he has been out of form there since at least Christmas, continuously playing the diamond at home where it hasn't really come off for absolutely ages, and finally being out thought in key games by managers who are equally as inexperienced as himself.

I'm not calling for him to go or anything as I think deep down we are thinking that next season is the one when we will be ready as a team as a manager but for us to do what you have described something has to give on the above.

Apologies for ranting at you slightly here, didn't intend to I'm slightly delirious at the moment from hooping cough!

Yeah that was very embarrassing infact I don't think there has been a more embarrassing result by any team all season.....

Still having us to make top 7 (just), but I may have to reevaluate that prediction over the next few weeks.

Tough games coming up, the gap to 8th is narrowing.

So here's me reevaluating it. We definitely won't finish in the top 7.

Can't believe how positive I was after a couple of decent results, thinking we'd maybe make the playoffs. I stupidly ignored the undeniable truth that overall we've been utter dog wank for what seems like forever.

I don't disagree with much here, but at the end of the day, we're still in 6th place and just 5 points off the promotion places with a game in hand. And there's still just under a quarter of the season to go.

I think it says a lot about the division and 4 promotion places that a team like Stevenage with 14 defeats is in a better position than we are.

That was when we were good! Strange strange day that was.
It was always likely though, we've lost all five games against Newport since we came down. Looking forward to the inevitable home defeat when Newport are already relegated.

The positives are that we're still in the playoffs, and we're 6 points clear of Mansfield. The negatives are that gap is slipping game by game, there's a few teams in the chasing pack, we've now got a shit team and 5 or 6 injuries to our already threadbare squad.

Surely we can just scrape a few wins in the remaining games to give us some sort of chance.

If we win Tuesday and then beat Carlisle we could potentially go infront of them too..

We battered Plymouth and if we bloody took our chances would of hammered them... but thats why they are where they are, they had two chances and scored them and won.

Looking forward to the coming weeks, were playing everyone in the top 8 i think
