All home areas sold out for a midweek game against Carlisle, deary me. Let the haters hate but that's ridiculously impressive.
Those who were unfortunate not to get tickets will, I presume be packing out every pub in the city centre, hoping to get there early enough to bag a seat with a good view of the big screen which will be showing the match on ifollow.

So everything is very well set up for Lincoln to win tonight.

Big home crowd, Lincoln top of the league and Carlisle doing shit with an injury crisis after getting beat off the worst team in the league who had not won.

If I was a Lincoln fan I would be so confident and sure of a win.

I'll say Lincoln 7-0 Carlisle.

Most of our central midfield are missing, be a lot closer than you think. We struggle at home too, we're better in away games.

Enjoy it while you can Godsgift because for clubs like ours these spells with a buzz about the whole place just happen in short spurts and you just have to enjoy it all while it lasts.

Sad part for Carlisle is it’s now about 22 years since Carlisle really had that, the initial spell under Knighton when we,d have 10-12000 weekly and take 1000 plus on 5-6 hour treks even on Tuesdays, now struggle to take 600 to Manchester sides on a saturday

No I meant to quote the Lincoln fan talking about the excitement around their place even on night games

We know it doesn't last I've watched them since the early 80s and we keep this going this side could surpass the side I watched under Colin Murphy back then, with double the crowds.
They were a great side but the board wouldn't back him and it all fell apart pretty quickly.

And sometimes it falls apart so badly that you start wondering whether it was all worth it. Knighton turned from ambitious eccentric who excited the fans to the owner from hell. Can't take away from those early years of optimism, but also directly led to us almost ceasing to exist altogether.

Just want to say that I will be fully behind the Cowleys bandwagon tonight. Carlisle did us no favours when they let Macc record their first win of the season (how tinpot is that?), so I'm hoping they get smashed tonight. 5 nil should be enough, though the more they let in the better. Cheers Imps.

So much for the CUFC brotherhood :told:

I remember mate, was at your place in 1995 when you won the title, full house etc. And was there in 2004 when it was going down the toilet
Happened to us too 5 seasons in the playoffs then 10 years of it getting worse and worse until Cowleys and the new investors arrived in 2016.
Life of a lower league fan lots of downs and a few ups.

Any Carlisle fan travelling to see this humiliation tonight deserves a medal.

Can I have a medal for watching it on ifollow?

EDIT: Don't tell Andy Brown I'm doing that though, we all know he trawls these forums looking for ammunition.

It’s not quite the same, but still after witnessing that shite on Saturday I wouldn’t pay 10p to watch the match tonight, so you do deserve some sort of recognition.

My advice would be spend your tenner on backing Lincoln at 1/2 and win yourself a fiver. Better than nothing.

I'd mostly like to see what we look like away from home since I haven't seen yet, though it doesn't sound like we were at all anything like we were against Oldham when we played Macclesfield. Also, to be honest if we get stuffed, it won't matter to me whether or not I watched it, but if we win, I'll have a whale of a time with an oven-cooked pizza and a bag of revels.

2 defenders in our starting 11. :lol:Fuck me that is embarrassing

I’m unsubscribing to this thread now while I can, before the inevitable depressing Lincoln goal after goal after goal updates.

The Lincoln circus around Cowley's birthday sounds legit tinpot. Our commentators mentioned there being entertainments outside the stadium, food stalls and 'tasting tents' and a carnival atmosphere.

By the way Mansfield fans. Adam Murray in the BBC Radio Cumbria commentary box today.

I'd imagine your commentators were referring to the fanzone, which is their for every home game.

We want to lose and end up getting relegated because we would make a nice little non-league club. :)

At least Lincoln should not have to resort to being cheating c***s tonight.

No need for it against our useless lot.

I can see Lincoln getting a penalty at some point tonight, or one of our players sent off. The crowd are noisy and have already started raising the volume every time one of their players is tackled, with the added bonus of the Cowleys screaming blue murder, it'll take a strong ref not to become Lincoln's 12th man.

Two very soft goals for us to concede from a defensive point of view, strong plenalty appeal turned down and now with Eardley going off it is turning into one of those nights.

Was saying before the game that I think we'll fade away pretty badly second half so needed to start well. Unfortunately that hasn't happened.
