He has had a shitter, yes. Only one of the back 4 that started should be in our starting 11 - Jackson and Garmston are sprinters but not footballers, Oshilaja is a liability. Feel sorry for Ehmer, spends all his time tidying up mistakes from the others.

Deji is surprising, he won young player of the year for us a couple of years ago.

He was good start of last season in a winning team, but he has no idea how to play under pressure.

That was a great cup tie well done to Brackley, beating a team 2 divisions higher is a great achievement. Showed great character to go on and win it after letting a 2 goal lead slip for the second time against better opposition, Gillingham weren't that bad and if it wasn't for their poor defending would have probably won that comfortably. Can see this Brackley side making a game of it at Blackpool in the 2nd round.

I agree with a lot of this, but unfortunately it's a 3 division gap....

Has Stuart Nelson always been as dodgy as he was tonight? I know he's made a few mistakes this season but he's always been a decent lower league keeper.

Tonight was a good performance from him in comparison to some of his appearances this season.

I can't believe you're defending us Joe, ordinarily I agree with most of your comments, but if you had stood there watching that shambles in the flesh you just couldn't find positives. That was quite simply the most inept display I can ever recall, Brackley could and should have buried us 5,6,7.

Yes, defensively we were abysmal, I'm not debating that. What I am saying is that when we had the ball we weren't that bad with it, and indeed played some decent stuff at times. It was without the ball that was the worry.

But with all due respect playing "some decent stuff at times" is totally irrelevant if a sixth tier side walk through you at will and could have doubled their goal tally. Frankly, given the quality of our forward line, playing some decent stuff should be the absolute minimum regardless of the opposition.

I think we're making the same points really. We, and everyone watching, know that we lost that game because our defence can't do the basics of defending. If we had a semi-competent defence we would've won the game as we did enough WITH the ball to do so.

You may be correct, but I am still far too angry at what I witnessed tonight to concede, which is why I am venting my spleen on an Internet forum at gone midnight while the Mrs moans at me to put my phone down and go to sleep. ;)

Yep, really glad I was working and didn't tune in to this shite. We are so poor, that my mates have stopped taking the piss.

Worse still, I could not even take the mickey out of the Swine (ffs)

This is the issue. Forward 6 of our team is really quite good. Neat and tidy, good movement etc. However we know as soon as the back 5 is tested we're fucked.
We have the same problem - except we're shite going forward, too.

Utter fucking shambles.
I am not normally one for calling for a manager's head but how much longer can this shit go on?
Our form over the last 30 games or so is relegation form.
We defend like a school team.
Decent players with no confidence, leadership or organisation.
JED simply has to go.

12 hours down the line and I am still absolutely fuming and have been roundly mocked by work colleagues, albeit with a touch of sympathy. Had three separate people genuinely say it's time to find a new club, GTID.

Don't you dare!!! I stood there at 9th Level Chasetown getting knocked out and becoming the largest gap to be giant killed and didn't give up on the Vale! Bet they all support United!

Being the only Gills fan in this area, I also copped a load of grief. I simply said that we cant defend, end of.

I also told anyone that would listen, that we would lose after a replay (again)

£10k or £12k iirc from when we were on it last season vs Braintree.

I believe the BBC show live coverage of 8 games on a Sunday as we were on last season, i.e. all KO at 2PM and show clips as the game happens so goals etc. (Feeling clubs get a few bob for it too)
