The Green Inferno (2013).
Eli Roth's homage to Cannibal Holocaust. I quite liked it. Poor ending though. 7/10

Goodnight Mommy

Not sure what to say here. I thought the trailer was excellent but I didn't feel scared once watching this. That said, there was a feeling of unease all the way throughout and I liked the turnaround in narrative half way through. I did guess the twist itself quite early on though. I thought it could have been a lot scarier, especially in the first half hour when there was so much uncertainty.

6.5/10

Mutant wasps terrorize a country party. Not very good. 5/10

Clown (2014)
I liked this one. Feller wears a clown suit he finds in a house he's helping renovate to his sons birthday party. Suit is actually the skin and hair of a dormant eater of children type demon that possesses him. Good stuff. 8/10

Your Vice Is a Locked Room and Only I Have the Key (1972)
Italian whodunnit. Lots of tits and arse including lesbian sex scene that makes Wild Things look prudish. Stylish and atmospheric with some good kill scenes, I liked it, I don't think I'll ever be a massive giallo fan but I can always watch and enjoy them.

Loved the first, hopefully this is just as good.

Not seen many horror films lately. Last I saw was Dracula with Bela Lugosi in it. Got the Universal Monster boxset for Xmas. Was decent.

Regression (2015)
I thought it was really good when playing the Satanic cult card.
The it had to go and get all realistic and be in their heads
Still, worked pretty well as a psychological horror I reckon. 7/10

Erm, yeah. Not a very nice film really, incredibly gory and realistic and yeah, not very nice. Bit shit though. 5/10.

No, seriously. I bloody well enjoyed it too, twisty turny giallo goodness. Great demented strings soundtrack and I think I love Gina Lollobrigida.

Excellent quality copy of the Martyrs remake on kodi at the minute. Put it on for the first 5 mins, yet to watch it all.

Heard the remake is absolutely awful but I may watch it tonight as I'm not doing much.

It does seem like an utterly pointless remake, especially considering the original is less than a decade old, but I'll still give it a watch just to see how it holds up.

Thought it was ace, thought it'd be gorier but it's still pretty brutal. Highly recommended. 8/10.

I've been watching a lot of horror movies lately but I didn't realized you used this thread for it (because I'm slow) or else I'd be posting more here instead of the last movie watched thread.

Anyhow I was catching up a list of some classical movies of the gender and my last one was Rosemary's Baby (1968). In the first hour of the movie it looked a bit slow for me but many important tips were spread through it as can be found out when Rosemary starts to realize things and the 'is it a conspiration or madness?' thing is well done, a very worthy watch. I think I have to make a new list now.

Getting out of the classics I also watched The Skeleton Key (2005) because a friend said it was the most surprising end she has ever seen in a movie. Contrariwise, I couldn’t see anything special about it. Most stuff is kind of predictable and what’s not isn’t big deal, already watched countless movies with similar ends. Voodoo is an interesting theme to be approached but could be exploited more to let things really scary, what doesn’t happen. Anyway it’s watchable, really not that bad, just not a masterpiece as my friend made me believe.

Now I am waiting for the release of "The Witch" in Brazil. It's receving very nice reviews and already received cool prizes so I want to take a look. I'm expecting for a good witch movie for so long, hopefully it's as good as they're saying around. Also waiting for Leatherface, I actually liked the recent (this decade) movies done about it except the bad Texas Chainsaw 3D. And I read some days ago about Warner starting filming a movie for IT in the end of the year, I am very curious about it since I am also expecting for a good clown horror movie for so long, and the thematic of IT is very good and it can turn out great if they don't screw up.

Just saw The Boy (2016) and it's very boring. Obviously they put Lauren Cohan on it to call some attention but her character is the same cliche girl of horror movies who accepts horrible jobs that no one else would, goes to check weird noises, walks in the dark even suspecting of a haunting, enter dark places instead of run, etc. etc. etc. But in this case the dumbness of the characters are so exaggerated that even for a horror movie it looks so unreal. It has an unexpected plot twist at the end but it's so bad done that can be even considered interesting. At least it has Lauren Cohan pretty face and she and Rupert Evans had a decent acting, nothing that could save the film though.

A few flicks coming out in the near future, really looking forward to The Witch, it looks like it's got a lot of potential.

The Forest looks shit.

I love that film, one of my all time favourites. Like you say, it's slow, but it's all for a purpose.

Rumours about Schwarzenegger in talks for Predator 4. Don't know if it will really happen but if it does him in the movie increases my expectation. It's a pity the movie will be out only at 2018.

Watched It Follows.

Not massively scary, but just very eerie and creepy. Can't quite put my finger on it but it certainly worked. The music and cinematography in particular was very good.

The Ring was on after MOTD last night, not seen in ages and ended up watching the whole thing.

Still quite like it, that kid is creepy as fuck and the coming out of the well/ tv is still really well done
