Chris Wood - one of the best strikers in the league now?

Certainly plays the lone man role well.

Having said that Zola will be ruing his lack of luck tonight.

Chris wood will finish top of the goalscoring imo

on fire

another weird game where we played terrible apart from defence and have won again (they do say though sign of a good team?)
another massive result and puts more pressure on the others

we won't go away despite numerous people hinting a bad run was due because we lost 2 in a row :D

You have to get Sir Christopher immense credit. It's not the easiest of places to succeed and he had his critics (not me, other than a few of his wayward finishes). 26 goals in 37 starts or something now for him. High on confidence, getting better and better in his hold-up play and he's not needing more than a couple of chances to score.

Thrilled for him.

Ours has 12... Don't think it's fair to include Hogan as of yet, seeing as he's not scored in a Villa shirt yet.

Pedraza , that extra touch of class we will need, doukara poor again, had one good pass that led to the 2nd goal, but in the 20 minutes Pedraza was on we started to look more dangerous, and a quality finish

Big game tomorrow at Craven Cottage not sure who I want to win!

A draw would be the best result, especially if we win.

Newcastle could do us a favour if they win at Reading.

If I was in your shoes I'd want a leeds win. Get the top 6 spot confirmed, doesn't really matter who plays who in them.

Duffy out for 6 weeks for Brighton, Dunk 2 yellows away from a 3 game ban. Gets interesting if they drop points at Rotherham tomorrow, not a total gimme.

You sure? We're crap and could/should have won by 4+.

They've given us 2 really good games and I think you're the only side to beat them by more than 1 goal at their place this season.

Cue 4-0 Brighton win and Brucie sending us into full panic mode tomorrow night.

Got to worry about Wolves going on a late run into the play-offs according to Paul Lambert. A terrifying proposition with them only 23 points shy at present.

Think we'll have to settle for playoffs this season, we've left it too late for automatics.

I tend to agree, we aren't going to catch the top 2 anyway, doesn't really matter whether we finish 3rd or 6th as long as we're in there. Leeds win please

We replaced Harry Kane with Chris Wood. Both were different class, but we couldn't get Kane back on loan and Leicester gazumped our deal for Wood. Oh well.

Next two games are Sheffield Wednesday (A) and Leeds (H).

I think we will have to win one of them to make the playoffs, as one out of the three of us will miss out.

Fulham looking good for 4th at this current rate.

I'm glad Reading/Wednesday are stumbling because we're struggling and Fulham are getting in for sure.

Our fixtures aren't very clever either...the easier ones on paper come right at the end and I don't want to be needing wins at that stage....

Beat Brighton next week (hmmm) with Reading playing Wednesday and I'll be content.

Us to win all of our games and sneak in. I'm calling it now.

Our next 3 are Blackburn (a), Forest (h) and Bristol City (h). If we win all 3 I might consider changing my mind about us maybe sneaking the play offs. As it is I think Fulham will easily get in.

In the words of a certain miserable Scottish twat (no offence meant to other scots) It's twitchy bum time. Having said that it's much better sitting here worrying about getting in the playoffs, than worrying about relegation. Which shows how far we have come in a couple of years. Down to 3 from 4 now, really hope it doesn't go to a last match shootout between us and Fulham. Personally I think Reading or us will miss out, but I'm still hoping Fulham are going to have a bad spell.

Just going off what I've seen today if anybody is going to drop out off the the top 6 it will be Reading. Fulham are looking like they'll probably make it and a good chance they'll be in the top six after tuesday night.

Stam said he is going to rotate his squad which might be risky...

Fulham look like a team really in form (and Preston) - always get one who sneaks in.

Fantastic times at Deepdale at the moment. The signings of Horgan McGeady and Barkhouizen have been master strokes from SG. I don't feel we will make it this season but genuinely excited for next season with our current set up.

Makes a bit of a mockery to the teams above us splashing 10, 20 + million when we pick up Horgan and Barkhuizen for probably less than 200k.

Fulham will make it. Reading and Wednesday watch your backs were not finished yet ;)

Other than Brighton and perhaps Wednesday we (on paper) appear to have the easier run-in. Next two games are tough but we end the season with a decent run of teams in the bottom half. 4 wins and a few draws would do it.

Our form is terrible, but we've had to play Brighton (A), Huddersfield (A), Newcastle (H) and Preston (A) in our last 5 games.

Today (once again) showed how poor we are when McShane/Moore aren't together, we concede almost a goal a game more when one of them is missing. We tried to address this problem in January by signing Ilori, but he has been injured too. 6 first team players out injured currently which is taking it's toll, though I'm sure that is the case for other clubs.

Still find it crazy that we're mid-March, 5th in the league, yet Stam does not know his first choice defence or midfield. I think that lack of consistency is now starting to hurt us. The best teams don't change, don't need to change.
