What's her background? Is she originally a Garage producer? It's not something I'd go out to dance too but like French house it sounded better than I expected.

You guys listened to much Speed Garage? Found out about It doing SoCs world cup challange. Found some really good tunes.

Went to a Techno party in Newport at the weekend but unfortunately there was a lot of house being played. :( It was a decent crowd though and as it was my birthday I made the most of it.

Going to splurge a load of money on new tunes this week:

Back from Ibiza yesterday, Sasha and Prydz were unreal on the amnesia terrace an incredible experience that I wish I could do again. The Life and Death night was also very good, great clued up crowd and not too busy. Unfortunately got dragged to Pacha for Steve Aoki because I made my mates who like EDM go to DC-10 a few days earlier. Absolute load of shite don't understand the appeal at all. I couldn't bear it so left after about an hour and half. Mathias Tanzmann and Eat's Everything were superb at Space for Coxy's night, but it was far too busy to enjoy so we ended up leaving quite early into Carl's set. All in all an enjoyable week but I wouldn't recommend radio 1 week unless you enjoy wrestling with shufflers with no tops on all night.

(btw the UPS's are far too strong - do not recommend)

What colour were they? We always split ours in half these days.

Sasha and Prydz would be cool, I'd be well happy to see that.

What did your mates who like EDM make of the rest of it?

Fair play to Eats Everything, he said it was his dream to warm up for Cox at Space and now he's done it. Although I don't like his music always good to see Bristol boys doing well. :)

I saw loads of people on Facebook who never normally talk about dance music banging on about wishing they were in Ibiza last week! I guess that's why and I can only imagine what it did to the atmosphere.

Fair play though sounds a good time. Credit to you for going to Aoki and lasting an hour!

I was just about to put that we're having a break too this weekend but there is a small techno night in a local pub so think we'll go to that. Finishes at 2 though and busy tomorrow so just going for a dance. :)

UPS ones are meant to be 200mg saw a warning about red ones though that were pushing 220mg. A lot more than people really need in one dose.

Think we've just been Ibiza at the same time Paul, I got back Saturday after 5 days out there.

Didn't enjoy this week if I'm honest, wasn't a patch on last year or even the weekend we did there a few weeks back. Still got out and saw some stuff though:

Mon- DC10 CircoLoco for Seth Troxler.
Tues - Sankeys Tribal Sessions, purely cos my mate wanted to see Snoop fucking Dogg but thankfully it was packed in the Lab so didn't actually see him.
Weds - DC10 again for Paradise, Jamie Jones and Guti live.. top night.
Thurs - Space for Ritchie Hawtin's Enter. We had a shit night here last year so glad we put our doubts to bed, a very good night.
Fri - was meant to be Amnesia for Music On with Marco Carola and Carl Cox but we sacked it off as we were all hanging and were flying early Saturday morning. Good decision.

Weds and Thurs were decent, I feel like you two in that I need a break from music though.

Don't mind that Bicep tune. Catchy.

The little Techno night Brothers Grim we went to here was really good, it finished at 2 which was actually perfect for us as we had plans Sunday. The last guy "Do Nut" was excellent, his skills on the mixer were a joy to see and they worked really well. It was only in a small pub but I'd go to their bigger events and they remind me of the small night we went to in Hackney earlier in the year.

Moving away from Techno I heard this drum and bass track in a mix earlier in the week. Love the noises in this one:

Yeah, it's probably not. I personally rate it as one of the better tracks this year though.

To be honest, I love all of Bicep's releases. Great producers. Dusky are the same.

I was only joking. :) It's not my thing but respect that you like it. I'd seen their name about but not heard much of their stuff. Prefer the first song that was shared by Paul out of two.

I hate the name of their night "Feel my bicep" Bleugh. Put me off wanting to go before I even heard their stuff....

Yeah you've picked a goodun there mate, I'd say anything from 2007-2011. His releases we're unreal then in my opinion. Get on his 2011 creamfields set if you're bored and have 2 hours to kill.

Loving that Above & Beyond tune btw can't beat some decent trance.

Okay cool I'll check that mix out cheers - might have a bit of a binge and listen to his album tomorrow too.

Yeah it's a brilliant track, so much emotion and was the perfect way to end one of the best nights of trance I'd ever been too. I miss Air in Birmingham, that club was perfect.

Had this on repeat a lot back then:

Might have a bit of a trance binge tomorrow while I am at it.

Bit of traditional drone techno:

Something a bit more palatable - I can see this one being quite popular:

Seen Steffi a few years back. Top night. She finished with Jeff Mill's mix of Lionrock - Packet of Peace. Safe to say it went off.

Bicep's new one is amazing.

If you're in Sheffield in October and like trance then you can't go wrong with this.

Luke and Paul have you listened to much on Anjunadeep? Think you'd appreciate some of the stuff they release on that label.

Got a stag do on Friday, going to Fabric later in the night for some DnB, not seen Dub Phizix for ages so looking forward to that. Techno Saturday at Koko :) Should be good.

I've heard of Anjunadeep but must confess haven't heard many releases. I'll have to check it out.

Anyone got any decent bank holiday plans?

I'll download that mix for tomorrow. :)

Decent weekend of music on the whole. Went to Fabric on the Friday, I'd been out drinking all day for a stag do and almost didn't get in. Had some water and sorted myself out, so they let me in.

Music was good, main room was mainly Neuro Funk I think with Ed Rush and Optical standing out. I also caught Dilinja for the first time which was sweet. Strategy on the mic in room two was quality I could listen to him all day. Alex Perez was quality, really enjoyed his set in room two at the end.

Saturday went to a night put on by The Playground at Koko's. We got in just as Agents of Time were warming everyone up and it was a really nice set from them.

Gregor Thresher played a brilliant set between 12-1, some really great tracks. Juan Atkins then came on, the guys obviously a legend and I was looking forward to seeing him even if I knew I might not like his track selection. Unfortunately his mixing was all over the place which spoiled it a bit and I expected much better.

Oliver Huntemann was on next and he didn't dissapoint at all. :) Some brilliant tracks and I would love to find the tracklist somewhere. He really got the dancefloor going and he led in nicely to Beck who smashed it out as you'd expect.

Bristol boy Dubspeka closed, he played a nice set but he would have been much better suited to a earlier slot I think. His set felt more like a warm up set rather than a closing set. The last couple of tracks went out with a wimper which was a shame but overall a really good night and Koko is a good venue.

The night was streamed live by be-at.tv and the sets are up there apparently so worth checking out.

As for Bank Holiday, sore subject for me. A number of my mates including my girlfriend are going to Hydra. Rodhad, Ancient Methods, Jeff Mills, James Ruskin, Untold, Pev, Objekt and more playing across two rooms. I am going to a wedding. :(

Also I am going to buy some Ear plugs for when I go out, my ears are currently fine according to my last hearing test but they feel dead today still and I would rather not
fuck them up completely.
