Well done Jamie, even if I can't like him fully for being a Man Utd fan! It is well deserved however, if you're into that sort of thing.

Really put himself in the hunt now, it's been some run. Let's hope he can do it by the end of the season.

Djokovic out, Cilic beat him for first time ever. In Murray's hands now, just needs to reach the final to become no.1.

That gap to 3rd - and then how close 3rd to 10th all are - is pretty surprising.

I don't get how Djokovic can retake #1 this season at the WTF like people are saying. He won last year whilst Murray failed to get out of the group stages (which was no bad thing with the Davis Cup afterwards). If Murray gets out of the group this year - which surely he'll do - then he'll be into positive territory point-wise, and Djokovic needs to win to keep his points from last year? Can someone explain?

On Djokovic I read this : 'There were signs of spiritual weariness just short of resignation about his tennis and his demeanour the past few days. He needs a hug – from his family probably more than his recently acknowledged life coach, Pepe Imaz, who is said to send him messages through a container of boiled rice.'

I didn't know they did it this way but I've read that the points from last year's WTF have been taken off everyone's totals, so the totals earned so far this year have now become the rankings. Murray is ahead but will lose some of his Davis Cup points soon so I think if Djokovic wins the O2 then he'll end year as no.1. I could see Murray regaining it in the New Year anyway because of what Djokovic is defending early on.

Ah I see, that makes sense I suppose.

Agree that Djokovic could still finish the season as #1, but the way he's performing at the moment, it just looks like he wants this year finished as quickly as possible. Even if he does regain #1 as you say, he does have a lot of points to defend up until the French Open next year, and I can see Murray pushing him all the way to get it back again. Murray is definitely looking the hungrier of the two currently.

Andy Murray
Stan Wawrinka
Kei Nishikori
Marin Cilic

Lendl Group

Tough draw, but i think Murray will do well and maybe even win it. This would be the icing on the cake for him!

He should beat Kei, though he got beat by him the last time they met at the US Open, however Murray lost his head in that match and when he's focused he beats him. Stan is hit or miss as we know as is Cilic. It could've been easier for Andy, but I think where he is currently, he should progress there.

Why does Andy do this to us? 3 hours and 20 minutes for a 3 set match! It's torture, utter torture! Anyway somehow he won and is looking good for the semi's here after all that.

Even after he lost the first set i knew he would come back and win. I fancy him to go all the way and win it.

I'd be happier if they dumped Castle, Cotter and Balding as well.

Anyway Andy through to the semi finals to play Raonic tomorrow. Also Jamie and Soares will become the number one ranked doubles team as well.

I'm not sure he'll have energy left after that. He has improved his serve a lot, but it still needs a hell of a lot of work otherwise he would've won that far earlier. Still he is doing one almighty push for this so fair play; lets hope he can fully recover for tomorrow now.

Hopefully Djokovic v Nishikori will last for hours, so whoever Murray plays will be just as tired tomorrow. Whatever happens in the final it's been a great year for Andy, and hopefully many more good years ahead for him to increase his tally of grand slams and masters titles.
