Are you calling Spurs fans stupid? Because I am okay with that.
I think it's by accident, but it's a decent point in isolation. Harry Kane isn't the best striker in the league, but if you could have any one of the strikers in the league a case could certainly be made for him.

So you wouldn't want the best striker in the league?

The best striker in the league is Agüero. He's also very injury prone, which is why he's never won the golden boot. In addition, Harry Kane is likely to score more goals the coming 10 years than any other striker in the league is, in my opinion. In Spurs' case, he's also home grown which is worth a lot.

But since I'm a Liverpool fan, I'd probably go for Costa as I think he'd combine much better with Sturridge. We also have enough young players with potential.

You absolutely go for with Aguero or Costa before you even remembered Kane existed, because anything else would be nonsense.

Ah, alright, so that's your basis of argument? "I've watched him. He's shit." Of course we could all argue like that, and shut down the forum tomorrow.

How in the world does a shit goalkeeper keep more clean sheets than Courtois and De Gea, both labelled world class on numerous occasions? I'd agree that it doesn't mean that he's a better goalkeeper than either, because he certainly isn't, but I don't get it. Does a shit goalkeeper really keep more clean sheets than two world class ones, playing in better teams behind better defenses? Doesn't make much sense to me at all, sorry.

As for the insult; G-Dragon, post #110. Glad that you asked. Also, re-read post #107 and #111. You must've missed my question, but that's fine, you can just include an explanation in your next post.

What argument? I'm not arguing with anyone mate, you're the one pining for it. I think he's shit based on watching him play relatively shit over a number years. You don't agree, apparently based on 15 months of football only (for part of which he was just... hilarious) and some numbers. And that's fine, we can disagree and get on with our lives. You don't have to throw your selective stats at my face and I don't have to refute them with ease. Maybe we can do something constructive like go plant a tree each with the time saved.

I'm sure G-Dragon will PM me if he feels insulted, and I'd be more than happy to apologise as it wasn't my intention. I were joking and that.

Nope, didn't miss them. You're assuming I wish to converse with you further on the subject. I do not. Been there, done that. :)

That's a long post considering it's directed at someone you have no wish to converse with. Imagine the trees you could've planted.

In Spurs' case, I wouldn't agree, but I wouldn't call it nonsense at all.

Potential, re-sale value, likely goal return over the coming 6-7 years, home grown, etc. A case can be made for him, definitely. A football team isn't about getting the 11 best players on the pitch, it's about getting the 11 right ones.

Sometimes I think you just like arguing for the hell of it, like you don't actually care that you are wrong, you just don't want to back down.

Kane isn't currently part of anybodies Premier League dream team. Spurs fan or not.

I think you're just misunderstanding me to be completely honest.

I think Agüero is better than Costa but I'd rather have Costa in my team. Does that make sense to you, or is it 100% always go for the best player?

Edit: Also, we're not talking dream teams here. In dream teams, I'd have Agüero any day of the week. But I'd have Costa at Liverpool.

I'm very quick at typing when I put my mind to it :) It's not that I don't like you or don't want to talk to you mate. I've got literally nothing against you. It's the internet, I don't take it particularly seriously if you didn't know by now. I just cba to do the whole Mignolet thing yet again, it was done to death on the old forum. And it's not like we're ever going to come to a conclusion, it's all subjective and neither of us would suddenly change our opinion. Plus I'm in a queue for CS :dk:

TLDR; no h8 but cba

Maybe I am, I still don't really see how or why you'd pick Kane over either of Aguero or Costa, even if you were a Spurs fan. If you replace Kane with either of those strikers you improve the Spurs team.

Alright, you don't see it. Let's just leave it at that.

On paper it would improve any team, but do you think Aguero would have performed week in week out for spurs like Harry Kane has been doing this season?

In this world of yours, how does this support your hypothesis in any manner?

It would be best not to justify your own bias by pointing out hypothetical examples of other club's supporters potentially using emotional bias over objective reality.

Coming from an Arsenal fan...the irony.

Do I think Dean Marney would do as well as Messi at Barcelona?

Obvs would be better.

Current form wise, Mignolet is in the top 3 in the league. But he's playing in great form which can't last forever.

I wouldn't swap him for either of our 2 because as with the Kane point above, he won't be held in high regard for much longer. Rodgers will buy a keeper in the summer unless he is moron.

I'd have Ospina over Mignolet actually. Even on current form.

Ospina's not very good. This will become obvious in the coming weeks.

Mignolet has done alright latterly, but he's going to have to keep his form up if he wants to be their long term. Rodgers will buy a keeper in the summer (hopefully of a very good standard) to keep Mignolet sharp.

I agree, I'm not very confident with him in goal. It's unfortunate that Szczesny can't be trusted to keep his head straight.

We really do need a more reliable goalkeeper.

Spurs have a crap record after Europa League games this season, so it'll be interesting to see if they can string some form together now they're out. Spurs, Liverpool and (practically) Arsenal all being out of Europe is bad news for United and Southampton IMVHO.

Chelsea: Southampton (h), Man Utd (h), Arsenal (a), Liverpool (h).
Man City: Liverpool (a), Man Utd (a), Tottenham (a), Southampton (h).
Arsenal: Liverpool (h), Chelsea (h), Man Utd (a).
Man Utd: Tottenham (h), Liverpool (a), Man City (h), Chelsea (a), Arsenal (h).
Southampton: Chelsea (a), Tottenham (h), Man City (a).
Liverpool: Man City (h), Man Utd (h), Arsenal (a), Chelsea (a).
Tottenham: Man Utd (a), Southampton (a), Man City (h).

Here are the confrontations between members of the top 7. Arsenal look to have mos of the tough fixtures behind them but playing at Old Trafford in the penultimate game will be tricky. Man Utd are the only side who still have to play 5 members of the top 7 which can be a blessing in disguise. Means that they could have destiny in their own hands if they fuck up against the lesser sides (like Swansea).
Not particularly looking good for Liverpool or Tottenham. Tough, tough run-in.
Man City vs Southampton on the final day will be interesting. Hopefully Southampton will still be in the race.

Best team in the league
If Man Utd finish in the top 4, it will show how far English football has fallen behind the rest of Europe. A team that is bereft of ideas on the pitch, plays the most unattractive style of football but has yet managed to climb into the top 4 speaks volumes about the competition.

In previous seasons, a team playing so poorly would be hovering around the relegation spots. It's clear that the quality of football and football talent in the premier is on the decline.

Well it was fun posting in a "top 4" thread in the Premier League about my team up until now, but there's no chance of us getting a place now.

Huge opportunity for us to go 5th today, 3 points behind 3rd and 2 behind United in 4th. We play both in the coming weeks, so at least it's in our hands.
