Funny how you can stuck on a game and try so hard and get nowhere...then go away from it for months and months and do it like it's the easiest thing in the world! Put Arkham Asylum in today, watched a couple of video guides for hints, and blitzed the four extreme predator challenges to mop up the last few achievements I needed to 100% the game.

Productive day really!

I totally used to call that the "Final Fantasy technique" when I was younger.

Bare in mind, when I was playing these games as a kid, I'd just run from every battle that I could and only fight when I absolutely had to (I only cared about the story, fuck the actual game) so my guys were always severely under powered. So I'd get stuck often, and would regularly leave it for a month or so, only so I could go back and beat it on my first attempt. I would consciously leave the fucking game alone knowing that I'd stand a chance of doing it that way, that's how well that technique works

I need to try that with Sonic Adventure! Last achievement I need is the missions, and I have one left that is nigh on impossible. For anyone who' played them, the one where you have to make a near impossible jump on the snowboard with Sonic.

Got Guacamelee after missing it first time on PS+, really wanting it but refusing to pay.

It's very good. I basically breezed through half of it and now I'm encountering some parts which are genuinely quite difficult. Far more difficult than I expected from a game of this type. Side-scrolling platformers/brawlers were basically my thing as a kid along with racing games (I've never been that good at shooters or RPGs) so it's great to have a game like this. It sure would be nice to have a good racing game too...at some point...whenever they decide to stop making shite ones like Driveclub and The Crew.

Noticed a Game of Thrones patch installed today and the next episode has been given an age certificate so I'm assuming we can expect Episode 4 next week...which probably won't download because Witcher 3 will crash the PS Store.

I loved Guacamelee, like you say, classic side scroller, but original enough and very hard later on.

I'll warn you now, the achievement for getting all gold medal challenges is ridiculous...Especially the chicken throwing one!

At the end of Dark Souls II NG+ but decided to murder everyone in Majula because I was bored. Level 279, 129 hours in... It's all I've been playing for a month...

I'm currently playing the first Uncharted game on the ps3. Brilliant game and almost non-stop action.

Are you working your way through all of the games or did you just fancy replaying 2?

I still need to get back to Snake Eater. Only made it to Sokolov before I got distracted by new games.

Edit: Finished Far Cry 4 a couple of hours ago. It was an enjoyable game although it didn't really do anything that much better than Far Cry 3 in my opinion. Those stoner missions and the Shangri-la missions weren't much fun.

Nah, just two. Might do Snake Eater again if I can be arsed after this playthrough. Feels like I've barely 'played' SOL, though. The game is too forgiving to get stuck on in normal but the awful overhead camera makes stealth and combat too much of a chore to attempt at a higher difficulty setting. I've resorted to dashing in to rooms, grabbing everything I need and dashing out, all the while having rations equipped to make sure I survive, as every loading screen is a checkpoint. The story is also nonsensical, poorly-written and so. fucking. self-indulgent. It's laughably bad at times.

I actually really like it, all the fond memories most people have with MGS1 I essentially had with MGS2

I had this same experience with Final Fantasy X when I played the HD release, you know? Awful writing and voice acting, you know? Almost unbearable, you know?

They also kept overusing two words at the end of a whole load of sentences, but I don't remember what words they were, you know?

Farming Simulator 2015 for the PS4 has arrived. Just called in work and handed in my notice as this is a full time occupation now.

I read that was done to help try and sync the animations with the voices, can't say it bothered me too much

Finished Wind Waker HD, first Zelda game I've actually finished, of the 2 I've actually played.
Very enjoyable game, would like to go back to Twilight Princess but the mandatory motion control segments put me off
