Good on him. I’ll be honest I’d have probably been looking at someone like Chaplin at Ipswich personally but it’s been a great season for Collins. Probably added a couple extra hundred grand to his valuation anyway winning that.

Schumacher winning manager of the season was pretty much an open and shut case.

Why can't they just produce a still?

Surprised McGoldrick isn't in there, not just from how he played against us but I've often heard he's too good for this level.

Too good for this level, not good enough for the one above.

Well done to Aaron Collins, nice to see at least one player made TOTS from outside the top 6!

On a separate note, and maybe I'm just biased, but how on Earth was Alfie May's goal against Peterborough not even nominated for goal of the season?
Not only that, but the goal that won it was a shot from near the halfway line, when the player was more central to the goal and had plenty of time to eye up the shot rather than flicking and volleying it in.

I'm sure I'll be accused of bias as well, but it's a joke that Alfie's wasn't even on the shortlist.

Think in Jan we were claiming the £4m mark or something. I think what people forget that he’s not only 3rd top scorer, but 1st place for assists as well - for a lower midtable team.

Still has 2 years on his contract but if we’re going to sell then it needs to be this summer/next Jan before his value plummets.

Personally I’d let him go for £3m easily and reinvest that across the squad

Interesting one, always did well against us for FGR and scored a couple for you against us. Took the step up in his stride it seems.

He's been amazing for Bristol Rovers, but never quite was on fire with us. Decent enough, capable, but with a tendency to shoot wide rather too often. I reckon (like Matty Stevens, who had also underperformed, perhaps to a greater extent) he'd have stepped up a gear or two once Rob Edwards took over from Mark Cooper, but clearly going to Joey Barton and really being part of a team he seems to feel at home at has been the making of him. Could well see him going to a championship team.

He’s been great but I’d be stunned if you get 4m for him. For a mid table league 1 team, they would be some cracking business.

Reckon he goes to Peterborough for 2m plus add ons myself (one of which will be a decent sell on percentage). He will be their replacement for Clarke Harris who I think will be sold to someone like ourselves or Sheffield Wednesday.

Yeah I don’t disagree with you. I think that figure was a mixture of things in: Marriot going for £5m in 2018 with the same experience, a warning off of Collins and setting the bar/negotiating if someone wants to make a bid.

I’d be disappointed with £2m tbh but I think £2.5m would be more than fair. What’s stupid is that as a midtable club his value is lower than a top table club, it really should be the opposite with the service and goals that we score in comparison to yourselves/top L1 teams.

Personally I’d love to see him play Champ football, he certainly has the ability for that and beyond in future. If P’boro could see JCH as well that would be a dream, we have a 20% sell on clause :shifty:

All depends what release clauses he has in his contract if any really. You’d have thought his agent would have negotiated something of that ilk. Things like winning this award certainly wouldn’t hurt his value and with him still not yet hitting his peak in theory it could tempt someone to throw money at signing him.

Scott Twine went for £5M last summer, so £4M isn't ridiculous. As others have said, it all depends on his contract and agent etc. If Rovers do sell and reinvest then I can see them having a good season. I can begrudgingly say that Barton does seem to have a good eye for a player.

We may have a similar dilemma if someone comes in with an offer for Colby Bishop. If it's £2M plus then it could be tempting to use it to rebuild. Would be a gamble though, removing such a large percentage of goals from a goal-shy team.

Whilst I do take your point, I’d say Twine was by a long way the best player in the league last season.

Him being injured all year obviously makes the 5m look too much but at the time it seemed very reasonable.
