I see Lincoln as mid-table. Obviously a new manager in place but I always feel the club is so well run it’s more likely than not they’ll appoint the right person. Also this is more a perception from when we were last in a league together to be honest but Sincil Bank just struck as me as a very difficult place to get a result so will say the home form will see Lincoln ok.

Still very surprised no one has predicted us in the bottom 4, we are still weaker than last season and have a rookie coach in charge!
You’ve still got one of the best players in the lge in scully so perhaps people see last year as a blip! I personally wouldn’t have you down as relegation candidates but in all honesty what do I know!!

It will be interesting to see who does struggle, the bottom half looks a much of a muchness.

The four sides coming up will fancy a good crack at it, ironically the Champions probably look the most vulnerable, FGR have lost their manager and key players to the way they play, plus Stephens did his ACL, factor that in with mid table form for the last few months and they probably have the most to work on.

Vale and Exeter, pretty similar, solid defensively, kept virtually the whole core of their squads, Vale have the last few days started to add depth and sure Exeter and Vale will continue until deadline day but are very settled.

Bristol Rovers is harder to predict, they've been active in the window and made some decent signings but on the flip side lost the key players who seemed to change their form in Anderson and Taylor.

All four are fairly well run clubs and stable so should all fancy staying up.

Will be interesting to see how they all adapt, especially Vale/FGR and Exeter who have been out of it a few seasons.

I am a very nervous Imp ahead of this season and think it could be a real struggle.

Off the pitch has seen a massive change in personnel and there can't be many people left from last season. MK is an older rookie head coach, it's going to be a real test.

In goal - Rushworth replaces Griffiths, I wouldn't expect much change in quality.

Defence is probably our strongest area - we're missing Montsma who probably won't be back until January, Walsh is perennially injured and who I think managed one pre season game. Jackson and Poole have been joined by O'Connor who joined from Bradford. At full back we have Eyoma who had a hit and miss last season but does have quality as we saw two years ago. Jay Benn who signed from Halifax will be back-up but only played 12 games for the Shaymen last season after suffering a nasty hamstring injury. Left back Robson who signed from Dundee Utd last season didn't set the world alight last season - I haven't seen any stand out attributes, Roughan will be back up who himself is 18/19 and spent the past 5 months on loan at Drogheda in the LoI. Brammall who had pace to burn and helped Scully has joined Rotherham.

Midfield was poor last season. Bridcutt who couldn't get fit has left but when played was a real leader and was great in the DM role. McGrandles was your 6/7 out of 10 and rarely missed a game left for Charlton. Both Sorensen and Sanders who were bit part players last season have to step-up. They are joined by Oakley Boothe who signed from Stoke on loan and we might see Mandriou in there who signed from Shamrock Rovers but is currently injured. There's also Ted Bishop who is probably our best ball carrier and I'd like to see him get a decent run in midfield after filling in at right back due to injuries last season.

Up top, we have Scully who had an average second half of last season once Brammall was injured, Vernam who steps up from League 2 last season and Hopper who is our only experienced number 9. In reserve we have Charlie Kendall who signed from Eastbourne and Ben House who joined in January from Eastleigh. There's also Hakeeb Adelakun who again didn't feature much post January last season. Finally, Chris Maguire who I don't think will feature and looks set to move on.

That's pretty much it other than a lot of home grown youngsters such as Makama, Draper (injured) Worsfold-Gregg.

I'd like to see an experienced defensive midfielder come in and I can't see many goals in this team as a minimum. Interesting times ahead and I just can't see past a struggle this season but I'll be there tomorrow as optimistic as possible.

Blimey, you’ve made that sound like you’re going down too. I might have to change my prediction.

Just a lot of unknowns at the moment, and an incomplete squad. Theres a few bit part players last season that we are relying on doing a job this season - Sanders, Sorendon, Adelekun etc. We shall see.

I agree with Guernica's post. I don't think we're Doncaster/Crewe levels of bad but we've still not sorted the issues we had last season i.e. lack of pace, no defensive midfielder and as above, some of our back-up players from last season are now likely to be starters. My problem is that I can't see how Kennedy can get a tune out of some of them because there was no real chink of light last year for most of them.

Of course, still a month until the transfer window closes so time for change but there's no way we can go into September with this squad. We're three of four good players short of mid-table IMO - DM, CM, RW, ST. I think we'll be busier in the transfer market over the next month than during pre-season!

Just read the first few pages but grabbed the feeling that most fancy Sheff Weds to nail it this time.

I agree too .

My club DCFC are UNKNOWN. We're startin ALL OVER again. New team. But same massive FANBASE .

I know a lot of you wanted us to be KILLED even more . More points taken off us .. More points deducted. Kick the great club whilst it's face down like ...

Well if that dont happen. And we gel as a team. LOOK OUT LEAGUE ONE.

No, they're an established L1 side who have strengthened a lot under a new manager.

They literally stayed up with 40 points last season.

They were shite today too.

Huddersfield went from 20th in 20/21 to the PO final in 21-22. Shit happens.

Either way, it's just a prediction thread and there's always an 'improved team'.

Fleetwood are usually pretty handy at home. That is usually enough for them.
Think also they are one of the longest serving league 1 teams.

They lost the same amount of games at home last season than they did away.

Their top goalscorer got 5 ffs.

5 goals..fuck that’s poor.
Should have been more specific..over the last few years - it’s seemed a tough place to go. Always seemed to score late late goals to win games or at equalise.
Perhaps I’ve had too much mythos and sun.

Fleetwood are dogged and no mugs in this league. Been in it for long enough so obviously know what they’re doing.

They weren't great on Saturday but I think Fleetwood will have enough about them to stay up. Massively lacking in attacking threat though, our keeper had virtually nothing to do second half.

Success usually attracts further success.
With that thought in mind I checked out League 1 teams that have previously won this division [Tier 3]

I think that either Ipswich or Derby could add to their title wins.

Not sure you can count the North and South wins in the same category as those when it became a national league. Division 3 North and South were really half a league of third tier clubs and half a league of fourth tier clubs, so not as strong.

I agree but records show otherwise, however I will add an amendment discounting regional titles.

Wednesday should absolutely piss this league to be honest and I think they will.

The only niggle I have is with their manager. He doesn't fill me with confidence and doesn't seem very bright.

Surprised how many people fancy Pompey to have a good season. All I have seen from Pompey fans is how poorly they have been let down in the transfer market this summer.

Maybe a few on here are just playing “Big Club Roulette” with the top 6 this season
