Jay DaSilva’s fee was £2m MagpieBee it’s a fact not an opinion mate.

Pinnock signing of the window so far I think, us or Leeds should’ve been in for him.

Bobbin' I had the debate about us not strengthening yet with someone else and I agree with you. Whilst they’re superb signings (JDS, Kalas) we had them last season, Szmodics isn’t better than Palmer yet I don’t think who he’s replacing (unless he also joins, which I expect he might) and if Bentley plays like he did last season then he’s not an upgrade on Maenpaa, he is if he recaptures his from from two years ago though.

What I will say though is it took us half the season to gel last season and we got stronger as it went on, so we’re going to be a better unit and also our young, impressive players like Brownhill, Eliasson, Da Silva are all a year further into their progression.

Just my opinion but I think City are looking strong for a top 6 finish this season and I’m very rarely optimistic. Of course though, we still have lots of business to do, but we’re in a strong position.
Strong squad, shame about the LJ effect....

£5m for your two first choice defenders seems really underwhelming, especially with your keeper going on a free as well.

Barnsley a complete unknown this season.

Both in the last year of their contract. Both offered improved deals and rejected. The fees are pathetic but they’re better than nothing and I’m always glad our owners put the financial security of our club above all else, no matter how annoying it can be to lose players. I mean I could be a bitter twat and say no matter how good they were last season in league one they were still awful the season before when we got relegated from this league, but to be honest I think they’ve both learned and improved and will be great additions to Stoke and Brentford respectively.

Just signed Dominic Ball from Rotherham. I don't know anything about him.

Yeah, suppose their lack of impact at this level last time round has played a part.

Heard a lot about Pinnock but know nothing about him personally.

Looking strong providing you keep Webster... If you can add a goalscorer it'll be very interesting.

Few decent young players there. You guys will be right up there again I reckon (he says through gritted teeth).

Think Reid will be more of a regular for you this season? Seemed to do alright in the Prem when he played from what little I saw, just didn't get many minutes.

Thanks for the optimism, and though we may be rivals I don't mind Bristol City at all. A good side and I personally don't get a lot of the hatred and BS.

As for Bobby Reid, I hope he has a good season and I think he'll be one of our key players. I would have liked to have seen more of him in the Premier League as well.

I certainly think that you will finish in the top 10, and the redevelopment of Ashton Gate looks impressive.

I think we might go abroad for one mate as can’t think of many in this division or the league above that are realistically.

Fair enough. Weren’t knocking the signings as you had a good side last season so nothing wrong with signing them permanently, just from the outside you seem to be spending a bit of cash without improving on last season’s side.

Fair point on the development of the younger players etc

I do expect Bristol City to be around the top 6 again, should have finished in there last season really.

See if you're still saying that if we end up in a promotion battle!

Tbh I don't mind you lot as much as most, want to beat you more than your average game obviously but not too fussed about your results otherwise. Should be a fun couple games next year, chuck Swansea in there as well and it'll be quite tasty.

Hoping to make the trip to your place this time as I've never actually been with bubble restrictions being such a pain in the arse, but I doubt that's changing anytime soon.

Happy just to get a keeper in tbh after the horror show that was Bentley last year.

I could be talking bollocks but just always got the impression he wasn't rated.

We’ve brought in Toby Sibbick from Wimbledon. The meltdown from some elements of our fan base on Twitter is actually quite funny.

Give over. Dan Burn took the piss out of League One and never really proved himself as anymore than an average Championship defender.

As for your side, as usual it’ll be your manager that holds you back with his inconsistency. You won’t finish top six while you continue to combine 10 game winning runs with 10 game losing runs.

Raya’s equally as erratic as Bentley, similar keepers. I think both will do well moving onto new challenge so though.

What’s been a better value for money signing than Pinnock? I’ve followed his career since FGR and he’s an excellent player who will suit Brentford perfectly.

We’ll see. Our squad is shaping up nicely, we’re in a better position than most but expectation next season on Johnson like he’s faced at no other club. Will see if he crumbles.

Just signed Dominic Ball from Rotherham. I don't know anything about him.

He only played a dozen or so games for us before he was loaned out to Peterborough.
They sent him back because he had a disagreement on how they should play apparently.
He then went to Aberdeen for 2 years (both loans) until his contract ran out.
They clearly didn't want to keep him on, Warney obviously doesn't fancy him.
Whether that's because of his attitude or his ability I don't know.
He is a gamble, but at least an inexpensive one.

Also you’ll be a lot down on your incomings this year, as you’re forgetting tax and agents fees.
Average crowds of over 20k for the first time in nearly 40 years plus a bigger sponsorship deal with Dunder (I've never heard of them either) would help I guess.
Surely if we were going all out we would be offering daft wages yet we are sticking to our tried and tested wage structure. Even Kalas isn't on huge wages for this level.
