Well we are bigger than the lot of you. We train at St George’s park for gods sake - I mean that makes us premier league.

To be fair we sometimes use it, especially when the weather is bad!

Hmm. We are absolutely injury-ravaged at the moment but I think this is a good time to play Wycombe with their current identity crisis post-Ainsworth. Away at Blackpool on Saturday so I’d like to see us get off the mark in one form or another tonight. A goal would be a start.

Darren Pratley out with a bad viral infection, so Max Sanders/Ethan Galbraith will almost certainly start with Jordan Brown going to right back because Jayden Sweeney is out with concussion now.

Tom James could be out a while as well, last year we had so much luck with barely any injuries, this year we're getting them all at once and its really impacting this groups progress in stepping up.

Shaq Forde will start for sure as we need someone up top with pace and Joe Piggott is still feeling his way in.

So frustrating, especially with our ridiculous start - Charlton, Pompey and Blackpool in the first 4 games, whereas stevenage get no injures and the easiest start possible to league 1 - annoying as they should be in the national league where they belong.

I felt good after the narrow loss at Charlton, thought we looked solid, but getting pumped 0-4 at home by pompey has definitely deflated that minor optimism. We looked awful. Players being put in weird positions, offering nothing up front, no shots, no real chances, and leaky AF at the back, does not bode well.

We feel significantly weaker than last year and we're in a higher league so yeah, not really looking forward to tonight. I like our young players, but Sweeney is not league 1 quality, Ruel behind the striker is like starting with 10 men (play him as the striker ffs), and we don't have any width.

Very early doors and we've played teams that will likely be in the playoffs come the end of the season so it's not panic stations just yet, but we couldn't really have had a worse start and I can't see that improving this evening.

2 - 0 Wycombe.

I still feel confident about tonight, despite the presence of the dreaded Sky cameras.

Mousinho is still searching for his best team and there will be plenty of players who can consider themselves unlucky not to make the first team tonight. It will be interesting to see if he rotates any of Saturday's team out to keep things fresh.

Exeter have caused us plenty of problems in the past but I'll go for a 2-1 win (Scully, Bishop).

Some classic willy waving on this thread, wow.

I'd say in terms of club size it's a fairly even league. You got the big clubs like Bolton, Barnsley, Pompey, Derby, Charlton and Blackpool etc. The rest after that are mainly all fairly similar size. Each fan base will obviously scream and shout that they themselves are bigger like these Port Vale fans are doing but they seem to be a dramatic bunch.

They do have the best keeper in the league though so perhaps they're secretly massive!

Maybe we should play them at their own game and blow anything any Cambridge fan says up like the one who says they'll go unbeaten at home this year and the one who thinks they're better moneyballers than Brighton because they plucked Ironside out of obscurity from.....league two side Macclesfield :fish:

Strange as fuck these lot

Sorry do you want me to soothe your ego?

Of course you're a massive club, you have the best keeper in the world, have had the biggest scoreline this season (7-0!!!), and most importantly the most fans on the league 1 football forum. Wowwww! Absolutely huge. Us minnows shake from fright when in your presence.

Whilst we have signed Niskanen we haven't got international clearance on him so I would expect to play the same side as Saturday, perhaps with James Scott or Harper coming in.

It's anyone's guess given our poor respective starts, but I think heads could drop for whichever side concedes first, given that both sides seem to be pretty weak in attack right now.

Sensitive the Cambridge lads, its done to death club size and means little, we are all League One clubs so Derby v Fleetwood its the same level. Football is a sport so your as massive as the league your in based on the only real yard stick that matters.

In terms of physical side you've got probably 5 tiers, Derby alone this season as the biggest by some way, then your 2nd tier of larger clubs hitting 5 figures usually and ex Prem such as Bolton, Pompey, Charlton, Blackpool, then your middle tier clubs like Vale, Carlisle, Bristol Rovers, Orient that hover around 5-8k fans, decent histories, then your 4th tier clubs like Cambridge, Exeter, Wycombe that have generally had around 3-6k and spent a lot of time at this level, L2 and NL but capable of the odd flirt in the Champ historically and your 5th tier size clubs like Cheltenham, Fleetwood and Stevenage, traditional non league sides that have established themselves now but are generally flirts with L2/L1 and don't have the EFL history of the other categories.

But regardless Derby and Bolton are at the same football level as Cheltenham and Stevenage and thus size is irrelevant when you look at that, (you could argue the bigger clubs are therefore failing performance wise being at this level and the smaller ones are succeeding).

End of the day we are all supporting third tier sides and deserve huge credit for not taking the "easy" way out and being glory hunters regardless of who we support and I personally respect every single one that goes week in week out and suffers the same as I do!

You're the only one that's said we're massive.

As it happens I just think we're a bigger club than Cambridge, if that makes us massive, who's the one with the ego?

You had a meltdown and posted the most condescending and dismissive drivel because some guy on the internet suggested you were a similar size to Cambridge. So yes it's clear you have a massive ego.

Can’t wait for the games to get under way as this is extremely tedious quite frankly.

Wouldn’t surprise me if we make a few changes for this. The constant Saturday-Tuesdays you get at the start of the season can be quite physically taxing so would make sense.

Could do, Crosby like most isn’t pleased with the new rules, as he points out your sometimes playing another game every 5 to 6 games when you get 15-20 minutes injury time every week.

Looks like Ellis will be out.

Sold 550 last I heard
Can’t remember if it was you or another Exeter fan claiming you’d be near selling out and that we all underestimate your support?

Think the Pompey fan predicted 750 so that looks a solid bet

First two changes of the season Sheehan and Morley rested in comes Thomason 24 hours after turning down a 7 figure move to Bristol City and Paris Maghoma for his full Debut [loan from Brentford]

Hell of a lot more energy but less guile

Toal and Bodvarrson playing for the B team earlier

Squad looking very strong
