How nice it is to finally have disgruntled oppo fans on a Gills match thread again.

If the ref was shit and benefitted us, then good, we've been shafted by equally awful refereeing elsewhere this season. Frankly, we could have won 1-0 with the ref drop-kicking the ball into the Southend net before whipping off his top to reveal a "Colchester 4 Ever" shirt and I still wouldn't be ashamed of the three very welcome points we got.

I don't think anyone is pretending that Innis deserved a second yellow for that to be fair!

There is a theory on our fan message board that the second yellow was for dissent with Inniss being sarcastic to the lino and clapping him about the award of the free kick. Ref did consult the lino and took his time so that could be the reason.
If that is what is in the refs report but Tango man still thinks it was for the foul it may take the wind out of his sails although he thinks that Parker fouled Inniss first, so probably not.

I fucking awful result for us with everyone else picking up results around us. Wasn't at this game so can't comment on the ref but from the highlights I think the pen looks soft but hard to tell and the second yellow for Inniss looks pathetic.
