Elding was brilliant for about 3 months during his first season. Became a cult hero iirc too. Then everyone realised what an arse he was when he wasn't getting selected and we managed to get League 1 Preston (we were in the conference) to sign him on loan. Susprisingly that didn't work out.

I did remember him starting off pretty well for you but I laughed a lot when I heard that Preston had inexplicably signed him. I can't begin to explain how bad he was for us at L1 level.

Juan Ugarte is the one that stands out for me. I was stupidly excited when we signed him, then he got injured water ski ing I think, and came back fat and unfit, and no where up to standard.

Lee Molyneux. Genuinely thought he'd be class for us and was very disappointed to see he was nothing short of a colossal failure for us.

Adam Boyd and Sam Parkin historically. £840,000 spent plus probably another £350,000 a year in wages. One was a drunk and the other a crock.

Ahhh Sam Parkin....

By the time he came to us he lived up to many people's expectations of being utter shite. We weren't disappointed!

There is so much utter shite over the years that I've been permanently scarred. Every player who signs I now regard as complete garbage until the opposite is proved true but back in the day my biggest disappointment was Danny Hockton (you will not of heard of him). Came to us with a reputation of being a hot shot goal scorer and scored a hat trick in his first game....and that was it (well just about).

The left side of the goal can still be heard to shout Danny Hockton when a shot goes high wide and nowhere near the goal.

And who did they both end up at from Luton?

In fairness Boyd was probably passable, adequate, acceptable and had his best game in a pre season friendly... Parkin is in contention for the worst forward Orient had in my lifetime. There's a good few contenders however. Thank fuck he didn't play alongside James Scowcroft.
