CARLISLE UNITED that's who!!

Just a shame we didn't know how to play on it and unfortunately ended up with the worst home record in the league. :ffs:

Highly commended. I thought ours was the best it's ever been, despite all the rain no matches were in doubt.
Yours must be good!

Very accommodating of you guys to lay out the perfect pitch to beat you on. Although from memory the ball was more in the air than down on the floor in our game! Luckily our defenders knew how to defend for once in that one.

Whereas stockport and wrexham are already aware you’ll soon get used to the state of mansfield’s pitch sadly

Stockport not have a clue it’s been a bowling green the last two times they came for their annual Field Mill defeat.

On the whole, L1 pitches have been good this season but some of them were awful at times this season - Burton and Posh are two that spring to mind.

And even those weren't as bad on the whole as some of L2 looked to be this season, though (albeit only going off the EFL highlight show).

Our pitch has been so much better this season after it was relaid last summer. I played on it on Thursday and it was like a bowling green. Possibly because we haven't put in a tackle on it all season so no damage!

Surprised you mentioning Posh as Ferguson blamed our pitch when they lost to us...

But yes, Burton was not good.

You'll be pleased to know that we do have a half decent pitch but the Great British summer can still catch us out.

The play off postponement was caused by 2 inches of rain in four hours but the ground staff were watering it the next day before the match.

Pretty sure we had a FA cup replay game called off at yours in the 2nd half for being waterlogged. is there a drainage issue at yours, or just bad luck with the deluge?
We used to have a massive issue with our pitch due to a natural spring at one end but finally got sorted while Darrell Clarke was here. ironically the same season he was sacked so maybe it helped us.

Just the deluge got it.

Don't remember a game called off in the second half but ...

Not a Premier league pitch as there's no plastic sown into the grass but it's the next best thing.

Pitch upkeep is partly paid for by Brighton as the women's team play there. It can get to look a bit scuffed from 2 games a week But very few issues.

We did have a part of it, a few years ago, that had to be ripped up as the soil turned a slimey black colour and the turf basically tried to run away from it.

Are pitch was alright this season for a change. Putting undersoil heating and putting some of that synthetic stuff that most pitchs have these days so hopefully be good this coming season, ball spends more time in the air with Parky mind
