Spennymoor is where we got tranmere legend stevie vickers from , for a set of tracksuits i believe.... you dont see deals like that anymore

Very true! We signed Lee Trundle from Rhyl, Andy Morrell from Newcastle Blue Star and best of the bunch 'God' Karl Connolly from Napoli....the Liverpool Sunday league side. All unbelievable players considering where they were playing their football.

Time will tell. I feel an obligation to educate the ignorant. Where there is darkness, I will shed light. Where there are Tin Potters, I will kick ass.:box:
You should really give up on your 'real football club status'. Been the very worst of something, is not something you should keep banging on about.
Can anyone come up with a 'real historic football club' with a more dismal history? I doubt it. :fl::fl::fing:

Show me a non league club that isn't bankrolled?
Every club has 1 major benefactor.
Whether you are considered "bankrolled" just depends on how much that one benefactor is worth and more importantly, how much he/she is prepared to plow into their club.
Without these individuals, you wouldn't have many Non league clubs at this level, you would all drop down a division or 2.

If we were fucking bankrolled, I wouldn't have the need to reply to any Eastleigh fan on any thread on any kind of football forum

But here you are, and here to stay for a while i suspect. Get used to it. If you don't have a major benefactor (in non league terms), you must be the poorest club in this league.....and that wont get you out of it in a hurry.

No no, we're the poorest club in this league, Askey said so...

"Jokes" aside, we don't have a benefactor, just an absentee/uninterested owner. A guy gave some of our players beds last year but I don't think that counts.

Well having cash hasn't helped you much has it?

I'm already well prepared for bankrolled no marks steamrolling us. We subscribed to this reality by being shite and under no illusions we'll get what's coming to us.

Boreham Wood will be the best, in front of 200 fans at their place.

Er yes. We are literally the least tin pot club in the division. So I'll keep chuckling at a fan of ickle Halifax having the temerity to slag other clubs off, if it's all the same to you.

Ps. Do tell me more about Halifax's attendances in the Championship. I'm dying to hear.

including attempted baitings by fans of clubs which are younger than my dog.

I thought someone who nearly just lost their club would show a bit more humility ;)

Unless you're referring to the jesters in any way.

Not sure if we're talking of the same business, but one wanted 8x the value of it when originally offered double, so we pulled out. That's common knowledge this way. This is the reason the plans for the Ploughed changed. The hotel wasn't supposed to be a part of the stand, it should have been separate, but due to not being able to purchase the land it's now part of it due to insufficient space.

Paramount was a mutual decision from both parties, but the plans for the theme park are still there. It just won't be named Paramount. It's only the naming of it that's changed.

The Dr has investments all over the place. Of course Paramount is his biggest and ultimately the one that he will benefit the most from going forward, but he's not just going to walk away from us at the drop of the hat. All the money he's put in has been equity, not loans. I'm not saying we'll be able to run as we are without him, but in the long run, his plan is to be able to reduce the amount he puts in.

As I've said before, there's always risks. We could hardly tell him to sod off when he approached us. We wouldn't have had a club, and I'll admit I was more than dubious at first, but as soon as Varney was appointed (could do with a bit of PR training mind), I had no fears. His work with Charlton was brilliant.

You never know what's going to happen in the future. It's clichéd, but just take each day as it comes.
As I understand, his is one of the 140 businesses in three industrial estates that will have to be compulsorily purchased for the project to proceed. Shame real skilled jobs and businesses are being sacrificed for Wallace and Gromit Park.

I hope Gravesend & Northfleet survive in the aftermath of the various property speculators. You will need the new additional money streams to survive on historic attendances. When I first saw a match there, nobody could have envisaged the area being subject to such huge development.

Everything at the moment suggests our crowds are only going to improve. Personally I think we'll be fine.

Talk of the devil.

http://www.kentonline.co.uk/dartford/news/theme-park-opening-date-pushed-129586/

Swanscombe-land delayed again. If I owned one of those businesses, I'd be trousering the money while the going is good.

I don't know the legalities of compulsory purchase. But how does a big commercial enterprise forcefully buy lots of little businesses who do not want to sell their property? We're not talking something useful like a road or railway line, but a tacky theme park lining the pockets of private investors.

Maybe Dulwich Hamlet would be a good candidate. Gates of 3k in the ryman premier, in one of the most heavily populated areas in the country. They're a bit weird, but a decent bunch for that, but definitely have the makings of a league club. Only thing in their way, is 3 promotions. Sounds like a big hill to climb, but we managed 3 in 4 years, and are about to make that 4 in 6, so really not too much of a stretch of the imagination to see them follow us to the football league.
