So our current XI is looking like

GK Hall
RB Vaughan
CB Daly
CB Williams
LB Keane
CM Croasdale
CM McQuilkin
CM Ngwatala
RW Nti
LW Sonupe
ST Ironside

A Brown, Austin, Digie, Truslove, Weeks

Edited to add in Ngwatala, Weeks and Hall. We've got a very good 16 now, unfortunately, no real depth outside of that.

After the last couple of deals, I'd say we're looking at something like this when fully fit:

GK: Davies / Pilling
RB: Buxton / Duggan
CB: McNulty / Sutton
CB: McEveley / Gumbs
LB: Ridehalgh / Clarke

RM: Tollitt / Rokka
CM: Hughes / Harris
CM: Norburn / C.Jennings / Wallace
LM: Dunn / Kirby

ST: Cook / Alabi / Waring
ST: Norwood / Mangan

Bold players likely to be first choice when all fit, however with some it's a toss up between two players for one spot (Hughes/Harris and Cook/Alabi being the main ones). To be honest, I doubt any Rovers fans could give you a definite formation, never mind the actual lineup.

Ah, the classic 4-5-2 formation; effective but largely controversial.

So given we still have three signings to come in according to Davis, I think it's very likely we will line up:

GK: Grainger/ Sargeant

RB: Caprice/ Judd
CB: Coulson/ New* *Jamie Sendles-White is on trial and there's a strong possibility he will be offered a deal
CB: Elokobi/ Clark
LB: Widdowson/ Scales

CM: Clay/ Lawless
CM: Lee/ Moncur/ Ochieng

RW: New*/ Koroma *James Dayton is on trial and there's a strong possibility he will be offered a deal
CAM: Boco/ Alzate
LW: McAnuff/ Abrahams

ST: Mooney/ Bonne/ Dalby

Abrahams, Alzate and Dalby
have been linked with moves away. I know Dalby is (surprisingly imo) subject to a Premier League bid but nothing more than that.

Abrahams is predominantly a striker mind, but I can see him playing as an inside forward if he stays. If there's two new centre backs in then really there is the options for 3-5-2 (and variants), 4-4-2, 4-2-3-1, 4-3-3; all quite exciting really.

You know what, I reckon this has enough to get into the top seven providing we sign a good centre back and an adequate wide player.

Think we'll line up like this at Guiseley:

Ashmore

Magri
Winfield
Clark
Graham

Weston
Powell
Payne
Coulson

McQueen
Mills

Subs: Miles, McCoy, Drury, Cook, Kedwell.

It's Guiseley up to tricks again, they've no shame at all.
I'm still not sure who the starting eleven will be. We have decent quality x2 in each position except maybe the strikers. Three young wannabes and a big strong experienced fella.
The only players from last season that we didn't want to lose are young Jordan Preston who's gone to Gateshead :£:£ and Simon Walton who's moved back South to Sutton nearer his daughter.

I can't see this squad being stuck down the bottom this time around.

What's Connor Jennings done to upset you?

Unless we get in the experienced midfielders the management say we're after, I see Dover's as being this

GK - Walker

FB - Passley
FB - Ilesanmi
CB - Essam
CB - Parry
CB - Gallifuoco

MID - Brundle
MID - Nortey

STR - Richards
STR - Bird
STR - Allen

Subs: Sho-Silva, Pinnock & the poundshop signings.

Chapell was the early favourite for the wide midfield role opposite to Mahon, but Liam Davies has looked really quite good in pre-season. Harry White looks a nice find as well.

I think we'll go to Halifax with the following:

(4-3-3)

Cole

Alexander
Reynolds
De Havilland
Arnold

Kellerman
Gallagher
Oyeleke

Mensah
Rendell/McClure
Fenelon/Taylor

Not sure who will take the other wide position and who will start up front, but I would be suprised if the other 9 places in the team aren't set. If I had to guess I would say Taylor may get in ahead of Fenelon and McClure will start instead of Rendell.

Agree with this, and would say it's probably a better starting XI than we had last year, on balance.

Would say that a few of the new lads in the side last season (particularly Brundle) with Miller and we would've easily made the play offs.

Also feel that we've upgraded from Magri which is a surprise to me, and makes the cash we'll receive for him even more of a bonus.

Ours changes so much from week to week, but I reckon this will be our 'away' formation and line-up to start on Saturday:

Stuart Moore

Thierry Audel
Moussa Diarra
Jimmy Dunne
David Nieskens
Dan Jones

Alex-Ray Harvey
Asa Hall
Bedsente Gomis

Jordan White
Adi Yussuf

Cox tends to get an XI from the start and stick with them all season, it seems. Harrison will come into the side at some stage, and the wingers are more likely to start at home and the more 'winnable' games, but that's a fairly solid 5-3-2, so it'll have to do.

The midfield is anyone's guess. The following are all in with a massive shout of a first XI place:

Nicky Featherstone
Jack Munns
Nicky Deverdics
Michael Woods
Luke George
Liam Donnelly
Ryan Donaldson
Connor Newton
Lewis Hawkins

I think the midfield will be;

Munns,Woods.Newton,Donaldson.

Seems to be what's he's settling on for now.

So our most likely starting XI for Dover is: Loach, Magnay, Laing, Harrison, Adams, Munns, Woods, Newton, Donaldson, Amond, Cassidy.

I think Oates might get the nod over Cassidy, if he is fit for Saturday. Would also expect Deverdics to play instead of Woods.

He might even stick to 4-5-1 and put Hawkins in the middle.

We could probably have 10 guesses at the team and still be wrong, to be fair.

Nunn, Sparkes, Adams and Doe have been injured in pre season and will probably come into the team when fit.

I wonder how long it'll take Chester fans to realise Halls and McCombe are dogsh*t.

I wouldn't describe Halls as bad. I think he would be ok if he played alongside decent defenders. McCombe is a spent force though and the lack of pace (and quality) in that back four could be exposed pretty early on if they play against a team with fast and intelligent strikers. Looking at it though, our centre back partnership could also be exposed for pace, even if Hodgkiss and Fitz are fairly quick in at right and left back.

He'll play 4-5-1 with Koby Arthur in a number 10 role I think - definitely for the first five games which are hard on paper.

Astles and McCombe might be the slowest pairing of all-time.
