Sky reporting that Ibra is Man U bound. Wow.

If they weren't title contenders before, they are now. The Premier League is going to be epic next season.

Hard not to be a bit excited.

38 goals in 31 games last season is very impressive, even if it was in an inferior league.

Can't see him being a massive flop, his ego won't allow it.

In Christian Slater fashion

Bring on the nay sayers :bg1:

Ovvi not expecting nowhere near French league numbers, but he has a lot to contribute still. That ego and will will be huge for the mentality in the dressing room.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
Banging on a bit but got a lot of goals last season. Wonder what his wages will be. The press bullshit earlier in the summer was talking about £600k a week...

Does Rooney have a 'parity' deal?

Less if a gamble because of the 'bosman' but I don't see him as someone who will be happy to be a super sub. I understand he has something of an ego......

Anything less than a Premier League title next season will be a failure. Other than that Jose needs to keep his fingers out of other people's eyes and let the doctors do their job :D

Odd that the only title worth winning for him which he hasn't won is the Champions League, joining a team not in the Champions League just proves he's after the cash.

But that doesn't matter, he's a nutter and a fucking amazing player. I'm ecstatic that were getting so many decent players joining the Premier League, more characters too, Mourinho and Zlatan... Fireworks are ahead.

Well I'm sure if Wenger had had a punt he'd have been interested. As is he hasn't got a Premier League medal and his ego will want to silence all the doubters that he wasn't good enough to be a success here. Is there a player in history with his record of winners medals in different leagues? Moreover the major leagues.
Think this is the most difficult stage of his all conquering first season title record. Not because of him but because of Utd and the competition. He's still got a few years left at a high level at least.

I think working with Ibrahimovic will benefit Rashford.

If this transfer comes off we'll have 4 strikers in the first team, two of which have established themselves in new positions. I'm sure Rashford will be getting his chances.

And it's only a year anyway. Rashford can have the Europa like Kane did.

Yup.

Gonna be involved in Europa so loads of games to play. Pretty sure ibra won't be playing the full 90 every PL game, so Rashford will clock up plenty of minutes with the added benefit of learning from one of the finest and most experienced strikers in the game.

Think he'll do alright, but can't see him being one of the highest scorers. Premier League is very different standard to Ligue 1. Reckon Utd will get top 4 under Jose, reckon they'll come 2nd personally.

Anyone saying this isn't a good signing needs to wobble their heads a little bit.
This is a guy who has bossed defenders all over the world and will certainly not be fearing too many central defensive partnerships over here. Still think he has got 20 goals in him if Utd add a bit more quality to the middle of the park.

Just a shame the Premier League is only a pull for him now and wasn't in his prime as it would have been great to see him over here when he was at his absolute best.

I wonder if any of the other worlds greats will follow his lead now we seem to have all of the best managers in this country?

Kane didn't become Kane by playing in the Europa League. He was the beneficiary of Tim Sherwood's persistence in the Premier League. Rashford needs to play regularly. How much he plays might depend on Mourinho's formation but he's not going to get Sherwoodian patience, for sure.

Mourinho favours a 4231 but Rashford should get a good amount of playing time anyway. Rooney will be deployed as a number ten (possibly even deeper) and Martial will more than likely play on the left. That leaves Rashford as the backup striker to a 34-year-old unaccustomed to playing in the Premier League week after week while we have Europa League games as well as the cups to share out amongst the squad.

Whether he does enough to impress Mourinho in those games he does get is something else.

That's surely interesting. I am very curious to see how Ibra will do at Premier League and it will be nice challenge to him too.

The signing is probably done with Rashford in mind. United need a striker and a younger more long term option would have stood in his way.

Yeah I don't reckon Rashford will get any game time under Mourinho. He hates outstanding talents.

 We were always going to sign a striker this summer, it wouldn't benefit anyone (Rashford included) if we didn't.

And Kane was a good 2-3 years older than Rashford is when he broke through.

Good way to finish off his career in a weak league...

Good signing for me though, outstandingly talented and even for a year I'm sure he'll contribute massively. Rashford wouldn't automatically start for any of the top 4 so not sure why people are expecting Mourinho to build a team to accommodate him in.

Ibra and Messi together again with Mourinho in charge of both. This will turn sour quickly.

Rashford will go on loan to Derby or something half way through next season and be sold to Everton for a £10 million in a few years.

Ibra has never been better than he has been over the past 12 months. Take it from someone who's been unable to miss a single step of the way since he was in his teens.

Obviously, at 34 the decline is around the corner and will come sooner rather than later, and I suppose it could come this coming season. But someone said that it's a shame we didn't see him in his prime but the truth is he's at his prime right now. It's weird as fuck.
