I think Neil going to you guys is a good move for both parties. When he first came here he was brash and full of self confidence. He installed a game plan of attacking from the first minute to the last and we enforced this on other teams. We started the Prem the same way and then Newcastle happened. A 6-2 defeat that was largely caused by Neil taking off a defensive midfielder for an attacker and just losing complete control of the midfield. Alex Neil was never the same and he seemed to lose his self confidence. He tried to play more defensive but he clearly didn't have the coaching know how. Our season stalled and Neil changed the style of play every game and nothing worked. We went back to the way we had started toward the end and it seemed to be turning us around but it was too little too late.

Again last season was similar. We started with attack, attack, attack and things worked out well largely until we lost to Newcastle to late goals. After that we rarely played well. We picked up points here and there because we had a good squad and occasionally turned up to steam roller some sides but I think it was once bitten, twice shy from the players and they didn't have the confidence in him. I don't think Alex Neil did much to help himself toward the end either by picking fights with local radio journos, fans, claiming it was a witch hunt against him and by bringing up the fact that he had one manager of the month earlier in the season as if that meant he shouldn't be criticised again.

If he has learnt from his mistakes here and can regain that self confidence he had at the start then I think he has the potential to do well for you guys. The big question mark over him is whether he can halt a slide when things start to go wrong, if he learns how to do that then you've got a great manager on your hands.

Keeping Steve Thompson and Alan Kelly should help Alex Neil massively, it's been said often that Thompson is a huge factor behind Grayson's success. Our football has improved a lot since he's come in.

Hoping we've got the right blend.

He's such a turgid twat, Preston fans deserve better.

You say we deserve better but realistically who do you think that we could attract with a CV better than Alex Neil's?

He does come across a bit dull like but aslong as he gets results I couldn't care less.

We had Grayson for 4 years, charisma isn't exactly a prerequisite here.

The last few managers have been at one end of the spectrum or the other, a fucking nutjob like Westley or dull as fuck like Grayson.

Alex Neil has been promoted twice in his 1st full season in charge of each club he's managed, not many managers can say that to be fair.

Grayson could be out of a job in a few months or even weeks. New owners may well come in especially if they are from abroad and want some flash continental guy as they do. If short stays he could sack grayson if they are not near top come xmas. Hes sacked a few managers in his time there. Bad move for simon grayson
And how right was i. Its the chairman that wants the sack. No one worth there salt would want this job

No it ain't, why do you think he should go to hull? Another person you still don't rate, even when we are 3rd in the table with all the injuries we have? You're a joke mate
Do i get the impression someone trolling? Dont seem no other reason why someone thinks lee johnson should go to hull

Believe it or not there’s a pocket of us in the support who thinks Johnson should fuck off.

No doubt the other 2 coaches will be able to carry on

Why should he do that? I won’t pretend I didn’t want him gone last season, or that I haven’t had my concerns about him for most of this season, but since the Palace game we’ve shown we aren’t the team from last season. When we’ve had periods of poor form, we’ve ground out results and not allow things to spiral out of control, like half of last season.

Quite frankly, if another club came in for him now I’d be disappointed. In February I’d have driven him to Hull if they’d had wanted him.

He's not going to leave anyway after the faith Lansdown showed in him, he's not going to get a Premier League job and given he's already turned down the biggest club in this league anyway no others are gonna be able to prize him away.

Let’s look at Johnson signings the first team still made up mostly of players before his era.

Then there the fact he got 2 assistant coaches.

Then you got uncle Steve who backing him to the hilt for reasons only he knows with money & time when he should of been gone.

That’s what makes him a bad manager? Seriously?

I would say very little chance of that happening. Seems to have the full backing of the board to treat this as a transitional season. If relegation becomes a real possibility, and that's not that unlikely the way we're playing, then that will change but until then he's safe.
