Alfreton 0-2 Stalybridge.

I am absolutely livid tonight. That was abysmal. We wont win another point this season. The players look half arsed from the start and visibly gave up second half. The substitutions from Russ were astounding. I am afraid he is not a manager at all.

It was embarrassing and was a walk in the park at times for Stalybridge. Should have been 4.Doubt they have had an easier game this season.

Some serious questions needed to be asked/decisions made because at the moment we are a complete shambles. Crowds falling rapidly due to the shower of shite on view. 347 there tonight at the start. By the end there were barely 100. Fans have had enough.

Kevin Wiilson continues to be seen at our home matches. We must bring him in or at least somebody. There is a distinct lack of leadership and direction. We are just carerering to the end of the season.

Fortunately Gainsborough and Worcester are awful.

Not at the game but 0-0 follows the general rule with us and Brackley.

We've still got a hard run in, but gives us a tiny cushion for the run in. Last thing we want is a pressure game at Chorley on the last day.

More nervous about Alfreton and Curzon at home than Fylde as we've been better against the better sides in the league

Too little, too late for Staly. I didn't realise just how good a chance they actually had. If they had won them home games vs Worcester and Telford I wonder how table would be now.

That is Brackley and Gloucester seasons over....now just a battle between 6 clubs for 4 places

Yeah play off contention over but fun while it lasted, considering our situation and budget Tim Harris has performed absolute wonders. Would have taken a draw before last night given Nuneaton's form. Well deserved one in the end, even if our equaliser came in injury time. Just need things to start happening off the field....

Didn't understand your lot on Saturday at all. It ended 0-0 because it is what you played for and I stood watching game constantly expecting it to open up because you had to 'go for it' yet you never did.

It was as if you hoped for 4 points out of the games, went for a point expecting 3 last night then never got it.

And was surprised as id rather take the gamble and lose than flog it being too cautious

Can't comment on Saturday as wasn't there but as odd as it probably sounds I'm kind of glad we aren't in the promotion mix. Playing in the National League outside the county in a ground barely good enough for this league in Evesham would have been crap and spoil what should be the pinnacle of our history. Only chance we have of competing in that divison, and to be honest realistically this one, is being back in Gloucester. We have the population (150,000+) and judging by the amount of "I'll go when they get back to the City" posts I see the place should be full every week. Proof is in the pudding. IF we even get back of course....

I don't go with the whole Halifax 2008 thing. Your the same club as you always have been.
Why 1986? and surely if a club progresses and the fan base grows, without major investment and makes it to the football league, then they can eventually become a REAL club?
Otherwise the whole 'REAL CLUB' thing becomes meaningless bulls**t, that clubs cling onto when they lack success for long periods of time.
Given the choice of lack of any atmosphere or investment Harrogate Town 15yrs+ ago or the current Harrogate Town I would choose this one.
What choice do I have, born and bred in Harrogate. Railway?

That's the issue though, an increasing amount of those that were there 15 years back wouldn't choose this version of Town. Investment? How do you know? From a post on the messageboard it would appear we are a figure on a balance sheet of a house builder. Doesn't bode well does it!??

A year or two back, I would say why not Railway!!! Which kind of shows the divide between Town fans - those that get the club and what it was about and get non league and those being magpies at the sparkly new stands (football trust funded might I add) and some big turn cack signings every year. So happy you are happy with the club as it is....especially when the club has shown open and arrogant disregard for many fans, over numerous times.

Over 300 tickets sold in just a day for our match away at Harrogate, I imagine we'll take 900-1000. What are your home crowds at the minute HG Yellow & Black? I imagine it will be a big attendance considering it's a Yorkshire derby.

I'm not happy with the club as it is. For one, I think we can all agree the manager is shit. But it is better then it was. It's a much better day out then it ever was. 180 silent fans, occasionally clapping a goal, atmosphere like a morgue, compared to 900+ loud fans, creating a great atmosphere.
Training facilities, More income, more work in the community and above all this, limited prospects of actually getting somewhere. Promotion! is a possibility. It certainly wasn't 15 years ago. Yes, there has been issues along the way and keep voicing your concerns of course. But to suggest it was somehow better before is borderline madness.
What's the point in supporting a club that isn't going and has no prospects of getting anywhere. I'm not going to support a club with several hundred quid a year on entry and pints, if the club as no chance of progression. What is there to get passionate about? not getting relegated?

Doubt we'll match the numbers the mighty Buttered Scones brought to The Shay back in September though. Never seen so many opera glasses. Made you realise what a derby match is all about. :bdick:

A spell of John Read. Some Aspin action...let’s face it to say 15 years is over egging it…..8 years. Perhaps if we were treated like a football club, a true one, you could knock that down to talking about last 5 years. Simon was given 3 years and that was it….sorry son but you cannot hack it. But as you say it isn’t the case and we are not really a proper football club since then.

900+ fans – yeah away fans and a load of compo tickets, at most the gates have gone up 100 in terms of town fans. Actual ones. Ones that pay to go regularly. Still a jump but nothing like the lala gates announced earlier this season.

Would be churlish to not see the good improvements in certain areas BUT….. is it anything that some clubs elsewhere do, without the need to ignore and look beyond as you and a fair few seem happy to, the huge levels of arrogance mixed with stupidity and in some cases BS dressed up as some people thinking they are doing a great job.

Some are seemingly happy to turn a blind eye to gross incompetence and staggering distaste certain people at the club have for its core fans, its ok to treat volunteers like dirt, its ok to create a my way or a highway approach…..all cos he is spending cash…..on his son. This might be a prevalent attitude in society but not one I want nor expect from a non league club. One in from which I have decades of great memories without needing a choir and some new stands funded by the football trust to make me ignore the obvious. Shame others seem to think otherwise and in doing so enable the club to be run in such a way.

And the atmosphere is worse this season than it has previous few – even with more people willing to join in with signing. Which is good but football is not a choir competition – it’s about having a pint without some officious noddy telling you to get away from a window. It’s about the basics. Especially in NonLeague! Again if you want the chintz there are loads of clubs out there without having this poor imitation. Halifax – all ticket for home fans – laughable in itself but another example of the tinpot shite – you can only get tickets till 1pm on Saturday – tinpot in the extreme.

It’s about scapegoating publically 19 year old girl for the loss of 3 points. It’s about about the non tweeting of away travel. It’s about a lot of the original fans falling out of love with the club due to the attitude of the club over the years. Seeing Craig Hurle shat on. Seeing Jordan treated like dirt for suggesting his son’s birthday money actually materialise into the shirt. Its about keeping your eyes open as to what might happen when we realise in a few years the club has been run for laddie boy and we are left with the fall out. Unless you think that Weaver will just up and leave and with no pay back on the huge pile of debt created during this charade? You obviously must. Which is borderline madness. Naïve madness. And progression? Yeah at a huge price on many levels. Think you need the premier league son if that is your metric for satisfaction!

It’s about the fact my lad and my grandkid used to come with me and they don’t now, 2 more that used to go but see through the BS. They go to Taddy now and love it. Don’t really care for the new wave of noddys coming to Town on freebie tickets, nor the promise of what our artificial pitch brings; to our artificial club.

420 now - hope they've ordered plenty of scones and butter. They'll probably give us the home ends if we sell many more, if only to see what they look like with some people in them. :bdick:

1060 tickets allocated, would have hoped for more sales by now - its a big club, league club target after all.....Darlo smashed it with 1200. Who is the truest League club....we shall see.

In other news our tickets are on sale on Saturday. Apart from sales stopping at 1.30pm prior to 3pm kick off. So I would expect due to our tin pot approach to the match, for you guys to have comfortably more fans.
We are getting all Tinpot early in preparation for you BinPot Charlies coming for our Cup Final.

900 might have been possible with pay on the day but an all ticket scenario means i doubt we'll top 650

Worcester away for Curzon today so we get back to a game which has some importance for the table.

away to a struggling side is the type of game we have been grabbing points most of the season, from 10th downwards we pretty much grabbed wins at most of the rest apart from Boston and Telford (and telford caught us with afew players out) so its a dangerous game for Worcester just based on fact we seem able to win these games and they really cannot afford to flog this one themselves.

on positive side for them, we are officially safe and seem to be playing like it since we beat Chorley, although our style of play suits it when teams attack us, we really struggle breaking teams down.

If you take all three points everyone at Alfreton would be very grateful.

Away at Fc Halifax Town for us. We are horrendous away from home. (55 conceded in 18 away games) Cannot cope when teams put a bit of pressure on us with the home fans behind them. Never been to the Shay so just going to enjoy the day while being a Stockport/Curzon fan for the afternoon.

I think your ok now mostly because of the number of tough games Worcester/Gainsborough have left, you are asking really for Gainsborough to get 9 points out of 15 from Stockport, Salford, Brackley, Chorley and FCUM, ith that top of table so tight and all the top sides probably having to battle until last game it just won't happen.

If Curzon win at worcester today though, this could open the relegation battle right up because Worcester have an utter horrendous last 4 games which could mean if Gains grabbed just one win it may be enough.

Just on a personal note a damn shame Staly b*ggered up Worcester and Telford games as i'd put money on them staying up and other two gone had that happened.....too much for them though now sadly.

Would be good to see 1000 shayman. Think you took about that for the fa cup match.
As you fellow shayman said might knock that a bit being all ticket.

For the cup game us home fans were literally queing round the block and was packed but ended up with a comically....given the ground was nearly full of something like 1700, was 2500 there.

we are averaging 900 this season thanks to decent away turn outs and a load of free tickets used to say we are growing our fanbase. Going for 1800 this time for our cup final. Sorry about the tinpot all ticket.

That Stalybridge score could potentially change everything at top and bottom of table in terms of more possibilities
