Surely you've got to respect bandwagonners for flocking to a mickey mouse cup game away in Mansfield on a Tuesday night.

How horrific does the fixture have to sound before they stop being bandwagonners? Barrow away on a Thursday morning?

Really pleased for Palmer getting his first Lincoln goal, must have been sweet for him after all the stick from the Staggies. I am also glad Green got his third of the season, he didn't need lots of chances to score last night either or look like he has lost his pace this season. I think MG will go on to be a very good asset for us.

For shame Lincoln, for shame, you should be condemned to another spell in non-league for that shitshow.

In their defence while they were off playing the Dog and Partridge in front of 1,500 home fans this time last year, I don't think the boycott of this competition would have really resonated with them.

I'm just pleased we lost, we got to the QTR's last season and was strangely gutted, still thrilled when we lost to Wycombe

Not buying it, every major sporting news outlet has covered the disdain for this competition at some point over the last 12 months, I'd wager at least 95% knew about it and thought it was a load of toss. Not that that should be necessary anyway, a competition which last time you were in it had just L1 and L2 teams in it and now contains Premier League B sides should set alarm bells ringing for anyone with an ounce of footballing common sense even if you read absolutely nothing about it.

Good win for our reserves. Minutes under their belts that's the main thing.

I always thought a 'bandwagon' lasted a few games, ours had been going since we played Oldham in the cup back in December when 7000 turned up.
They aint all newbies either, a lot of my mates had returned and like me now have kids and taking them too.
The number of kids going to our games is unreal, they went round the schools with the trophy seemed to work in hooking them in to being Imps.

We had a load like that when we had our visit in the dungeon really pissed me off you're either a fan or not don't just come back when your respective team is on the up.

We comfortably beat Morecambe 2-0 last night and should have had a few more goals, but I'm well pleased because we needed that after the shit show at the weekend and our manager said tonight that we let did not play our way against Lincoln which is entertaining football, not the scrappy bully the opposition type football that we let our opponents in this league play.

We would have taken a lot more than 898 if we weren't boycotting.

I think it was quite admirable that long standing fans such as myself stood aside and allowed the BWA (Band Wagon Army) a chance to attend Field Mill, a stadium we've done many times before. There was a boycott from a section of the support and there wasn't actually much talk across the forums of anyone actually going - certainly not in those numbers.

We made 1 less change than we could have done (Vickers for Farman) but 7 would have been all we'd be able to manage because I think we're at 19 squad wise (Ginnelly injured and Howe out on loan).

I'm not sure whether this is a wind up, but the radio were saying Cowley was sent from the stands for wagging his water bottle too aggressively as Evans approached our technical area in his usual angry manner.

Cowley told the Ref he wasn't fit to ref league football and was Fing shite apparently. Always been impressed with the way he behaves and comes across so its surprising, but he's an amateur and is showing his inexperience making daft comments like that, if true. Evans knows how much of an arse to be without taking it too far haha

Glad we lost, few of our reserves looked good the rest can stay in the stands for now.
Lincolns team looked fairly strong, Farman, woodyard, Knott, Habergham, Maguire-Drew, waterfall, Green, Bostwick.. Nice to see green, but summed up his game, scores into an empty net....

Be nice to see two first teams play each other, cant say much after that.

1968 at the Ricoh. I think 150 from Shrewsbury. Lost 3-2 to a last minute free kick.

To be honest the Cowley got a fair bit of stick last year for pushing it on the touchline. Despite their media-friendly public personas they certainly push the boundaries with officials. It's nothing new. They made a few enemies when they were at Concord and I think have wised up a bit since but still like to chirp in the officials ears.

A supporters group did boycott the competition and set their stall out back in June. The Club or Trust were never going to put anything out on it.

Don't get me wrong, 617 aren't a massive supporters group in the grand scheme of our attendances and they'll not have reached the family types who ended up going, but it's still a few hundred who didn't bother.

"BOYCOTT OF THE EFL (Checkatrade) TROPHY
617 will be boycotting all EFL (Checkatrade) Trophy games for the season of 17/18. Just to clear up any confusion this is the Trophy formally known as the Members associate Cup or JPT and NOT the League Cup (Carabao) in which we have drawn Rotherham away.

We along with fans across the country have taken the decision after taking up a number of concerns about the competition and the general manner in which governing bodies have conduct...ed themselves when dealing with fans concerns.

The reason given for the inclusion of Under 21 teams was to develop youth players for England's future. Statistics provided by the EFL state that 27% of players who started Checkatrade Trophy matches were English under-21s (up from 23% in 2015-16, and 18% in 2014-15). So this may look like some success in increasing involvement of English youth players. However as the examples above show it is a facade.

Fans are voting with their feet with 274 fans watching West Brom v Gillingham, an all time low for the competition.

The EFL has consistently disregarded the views of the game’s key stakeholder, the supporter. Where fan consultation was conducted, it was ignored. In two extreme cases, Carlisle United and Notts County ignored over 95% of their respondents. Why should any EFL fan ever take another club survey?

To finally add to concerns, take into account the very real threat of League 3/Premier league B teams looming in the background of the English game. The way in which this competition is being ran, in every single aspect, leads us as a group to believe this competition is nothing more than an attempt to push these things through the back door.

Whilst we understand fans viewpoints on our first season returning to league football and the general mentality instilled into the club (correctly so) of recent times to win anything and everything we possibly can, we would ask you to please take into account the bigger picture here and what is at stake. If you share our beliefs. If you wish to stand side by side with fans up and down the country, then we urge you to join us by taking the action of boycotting all EFL (Checkatrade) Trophy games this season.

Sustained, united fan power will see fans begin to take back our game from the powers that be."

I can't wait till Lincoln fans stop mentioning attendances and that fucking defender who has joined Norwich 90% of the time.
