Scrappy 1-0 win by all accounts. Rather annoyingly it seems like half of the Conny Sarf are still in the Trophy so we're bound to draw one of them on Monday.

Lost 2-0 at home to Harrogate. Tragic to be honest and we let a lamppost score twice against us.

So it turns out Halifax are so tinpot that they can't even put covers on their pitch to stop it freezing. This had better not go to a replay now else it's yet another game for us to fit in over Christmas.
Covers were down all week.

4 games in 5 now where someone's scored 4 goals, thankfully it was us this time. Bring on round 2 (nice local draw preferably)

Might be harsh, but it looked to me that we just wanted to get out of the trophy and avoid injuries. Absolute waste of time.

Sure it will mean a lot to the hardy Town fans making the trip but a hollow victory after capitulating both League title contention and a very obtainable fa cup run in a matter of a month.

With your unusual title tilt this year, did your lot want the distraction really? Was it a first team out against us?
Beck BTW was woeful in his first game against fc united and seemed to turn us into a long ball team.

Tomorrow's attendance could match the 400+ we got against Tamworth in 2015. Real clubs don't give a shit about the Trophy, even when they win it. :bdick:
Tribute Act FC Halifax 2008 proving they are very much a pale imitation of a real club this season. Tin pot crowds, tin pot two stands open, tin pot tax payers subsidies of your ground.
Real club lmfao.

Mix of youth players and fringe players. Kevin Roberts and Mark Carrington the only players starting who have had any substantial game time. That said it doesn't bode well if we lose anyone important from our first xi (Pearson, Wedgebury, Holroyd etc)
Sounds like we more or less just conceded that one.

We chucked it for sure, it was a team of strangers and only one first choice player (Roberts) played.

Great result for Marine at Chorley today, after knocking us out of the Senior Cup a couple of weeks ago.

I simply cannot be arsed going today. Nothing says waste of time competition than playing about 100 ties to get to a final where you make about £27 profit as a club because you're playing (and losing) to some nonsense like North Ferriby United at Wembley.

Time you got over that!

1-0 win for Sutton, Craig Dundas again proving his proximity to deity scoring an 89th minute winner to save us from a midweek trip to Cornwall

5th penalty, score it and we win. Guess who steps forward....Andy Halls....to audible groans from the crowd.

Made no mistake. Hero. :bg:

3-0 win for Dover ,Boring first half , second half Dover's class shone through in the end, hoping for a home draw in the next round, which goes national I believe, so like get Barrow away now

A game I had little appetite for, wasn't bothered if we won or lost TBH, but after a really poor first half on another artifcial pitch, we dominated the whole second half apart from the final ten minutes when they threw everything at us and only forced one real chance.

Edinburgh played a full strength side as well and in the end it was enough, Haringey were worthy of a replay on their first half showing when they could've been further ahead.

East Thurrock is a tough place to go for any side, horrible pitch and the wind they get down there is an absolute bastard for anyone. Plus they've done well these last 3 seasons.

Both clubs agreed to it. Think Halifax/Macc and possibly Gateshead/Guiseley were the same had they taken place
Yep both clubs agreed to finish it on the day. Shame we didn't add tossing a coin in the event of a postponement!

Given our league performances and position our names on the trophy this season. It goes hand in hand with relegation right?

York fans. Seen a lot of people on Twitter calling for Gray to go, these just some loud idiots or a majority of your fans?

Result of the day sounded like Workington beating Hartlepool - Radio Cumbria split their time between that match and the Barrow game, and that one sounded much more exciting. Also seemed like Workington could have had three or four, and the commentator nearly exploded when the goal went in (spectacular volley apparently).
Surely Hartlepool's boss is on borrowed time.

Our match sounded dire and we limped past a terrible Nuneaton, in what was described on the radio as a "shit match" by our own manager...

He's lost the majority of the fans, he seems like a really nice fella he's just hopelessly out of his depth and it's a shame to see a nice bloke struggling desperately, I just don't think he's got it, it's going to take a massive upturn to get everyone back on board, I don't believe we can afford to sack him, our last shyster chairman (who has since became bankrupt, for the second time in his life, despite filling his pockets with anything that wasn't strapped to the floor) left us in a sorry mess and the current mob are left with the mop and bucket desperately trying to clean up all the shite they've been lumbered with, I think they've been incredibly naive and went whole hog this season in an attempt to get back to the football league first go, it hasn't worked and we may well of fucked ourselves over completely.

In conclusion, the FA Trophy can suck a fat one.

The good thing about Beck, give him the ammunition and he'll put the ball in the back of the net. 19 goals for us last season.
We are somewhat lost without him up front as a target man.

Some bitter recriminations at Torquay over losing 4-0 to Maidstone. Yet that is the number of goals we have conceded three times recently without the supporters going into meltdown. A different level of expectation? Or panic as the league position begins to sink in?
