Still something not quite right behind scenes at Salford at present.

after sam walker went from signing full time to leaving for Stockport, is strong rumours 2 more of their players who signed up have now been told they are surplus to requirements and to move, their assistant manager has gone aswell.

Their fans from their forum stuck between being happy for the season, praising the money being spent to worrying about managers being told who to play and dissent behind scenes........

or maybe the new ground has cost more than expected.

Could it possibly be Mani Dieseruvwe was surprised they signed tbh and on a 2 year deal.

They signed them up before the end of the season and on two year contracts - it seemed weird at the time to me. The reason Grand was given the old heave hoe was because he wanted to wait until the end of the season to discuss his future rather than in the crucial period of the season.

I'm not sure whether this is all Bernard and Jonno's doing, Gary Neville's, or reported director of football, Chris Casper, who hasn't actually ever been announced as that.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Hulme become the 4th player to join us from Salford this summer. We are lacking depth and versatility in attacking areas and he would be a good squad option.

Billy Priestley was part of the Alfreton Team who lost to Sheffield Wednesday tonight. Have it on good authority he has signed tonight too and will be announced tomorrow.

Harrogate Town have revealed a new badge and have announced a new shirt sponsor. Kappa. Badge looks alright to be fair. They haven't revealed the new kit yet but the training kit looks quite smart. Certainly going for the 'professional club' look however, if we don't finish at least top 7 then all this will make us look like a joke.

Bradford park avenue introduce 2 teir pricing for games this season. £9 for Cat B and £13 for Cat A.

Good to see BPA embracing a quantitative tin pot measure for the 2017/18 season. If you're not a Cat A game against BPA you're tin pot.

Find that ridiculous and unfair.

It should not be right for say me as a Curzon fan to pay £4 less to attend the same conf north away game as say a York or Stockport fan (who lets be honest will be the Cat 1 games)

Young striker Brad Kay who was released by Oldham at the end of the season is on trial at Curzon. We had him on Trial the Saturday before last and he looked fairly decent.

yes i think he played tuesday at Mossley.

am a wee bit worried at present, although i know friendlies mean jack sh*te, but we look quite toothless going forward and our back up keeper who is now no.1 made a right howler on tuesday costing a goal.......not a good sign of confidence.

Likewise here mate. Not at all convinced by Springthorpe in goal and as yet we have looked pretty toothless up front too. Think Saturday against FC Halifax will be more of a yardstick for us.

'I will second That' Is this a new way of putting each club in category order, or has somebody with a shirt and tie on thought of another way of fleecing supporters.
I think for me most supporters that travel to away games already contribute in more ways than one.

BPA two tier pricing.I am not in favour and it has received a lot of mixed comments from home supporters. The board says that for cat A games they provide away supporters with their own marquee portaloos and burger bar and the high cost of extra stewarding provided by the council.l think they might do a Theresa May U turn.

But that's when they get 500 away fans than 50 so the extra fans pay for those extras. I can understand their problems, i believe Curzon don't like hosting Stockport even with the much larger fanbase they have as it comes with a lot of baggage, while FCUM who bring about the same numbers come with zero baggage.....FCUM therefore make us a lot more money as we need no segregation, no police, both fans use bar all game and no problems occur......seems to just be an ex league club thing to attach the scummy youth brigades......but on flip side Stockport will have 1,000 people paying £12-£6 a pop which would cover extra costs.

At least i suppose the cat A prices still are not bad....we just charge £12 flat rate, some down here charge £15!

It's disgusting and just cashing in on clubs with big Away followings?
We play BPA first Saturday away game and will take over 1000,yes probably will be a fair few unsavoury characters but surely the gate receipts from Away fans will more than cover it.
4 seasons ago took 2000 to Bradford City and no problems.
When we play Curzon will take prob over 500 so on that process should pay more.
Feel for Stockport fans and Darlo taking the piss.

Sorry to say this but how much are York City charging visitors to watch a game at Bootham Crescent. You will find this is a bloody difficult league to get out of and size of your support does not guarantee success just ask Stockport

We are charging everyone the same price regardless of which club they support, that's the point.

£14 since you ask, and an extra quid for the seating.

I don't get it for you, don't mean to sound disrespectful because don't have a clue how many you get at home, but if you are charging £9 for every cat B team surely this mean you will lose a fortune in revenue.

Erm... wonder if the Brackley match just might be a Cat B match for BPA, as I doubt our 8 away fans will need segregating. Mind you not sure how they measure away fan figures published by clubs - I don't announce my allegiance on the gate.
Definitely tin pot.
Good opening friendly vs. Shrewsbury - Brackley won 2-1 and good value for it, and Shrewsbury had two sides of many first teamers playing either half. We look a good side - just need goals especially at home given our disappointing record at home last season. But only one new striker joined. plus two of last year's forwards signed up again but who I'm unconvinced by. Maybe a lot of goals from midfield? Jimmy Armson's going to be key.

Salford confirm Jordan Hulme has left the club.

yep and Priestly has gone to Alfreton.

I keep saying i don't see the hype for salford this season.......something isn't quite right there behind the scenes, plus they have now been culling a good chunk of their squad from last season and have not signed players which stand out as miles better.

Will be strong, but for me not this runaway fave people harp on about..................why have 3 players within 2 months jumped ship plus the assistant manager??

Hello Darlo fans, what was your first season at the Meadows ground like and what are your plans moving forward. You might have been lucky not going up last season. We got there too quick and it's largely been struggle since.

We have re signed Cecil Nyoni for a third spell. Decent signing if he is interested. Its on non contract terms though so any trouble and he will be out the door.

Hello Darlo fans, what was your first season at the Meadows ground like and what are your plans moving forward. You might have been lucky not going up last season. We got there too quick and it's largely been struggle since.

Well it was a mixed bag being home. In one sense it's great to be back In Darlington. But on the flip side there is so so so much more work to do at Blackwell Meadows to bring it up to Cat A and hopefully eventually football league standard. Already this summer fans have raised £50k to completely redo the pitch.

It's a very basic ground. The next step is to get the 500 seats that would allow us into the playoffs (we currently have 294). This has been split into 3 periods £40k for the foundations and other prep work, £50k for the roofing and cladding, £37k for the seating deck. We currently have £47k of this £127k target raised. Finally fans have also contributed to boosting Martin Grays budget for the season with a further £41k.

We need to be promoted to the National before we will have access to another £150k in matched funding to bring the ground up to Cat A standard which would require increasing capacity by 800, adding another set of turnotices and increasing toilet facilities.

I think we will be challenging for promotion again this season. In reality last year would have been too much too fast but we need to keep moving forwards. Hopefully we can get back to playing Chester regularly in the next couple of years.

Brigg Town (Loss) 6-1 (mainly academy players)

Barton Town (draw) 1-1 (mainly academy players)
Hull City u23's (win) 3-1

slowly getting there, still got 6 friendlies to go and expecting 3-4 more signings

Decent 1-0 win today against a very mediocre FC Halifax. Very promsing second half performance. We had former Harrogate Town keeper Chris Elliot in between the posts who looked good. We have a strong backline. Need a left back and a striker and I think we are ready to go.

We had Matty Templeton on trial who looked decent. Spent last season on loan at North Ferriby from Barnsley.

Very encouraged by today.

I know It's only a pre-season friendly, but that's a cracking result against FC Halifax and bodes well for the coming season in August.
